((This is like, continued from Wake me up so if your new and never really read Wake me up, then read it.))
[shadow=blue,left,300]It was night time and the mad orphan pup just had to run away again for the second time again. The first time it was when Star died. The second time was when Destiny died. Now the third time it was when he had nightmares about watching all the wolves that he cares about died. Star, Destiny, and Jen, his mother. Those were the wolves that he was dreaming about. It was scary just to look through his head. Kunai dashed through the Herb Meadows and saw some of the herbs that blood on them with the scent of Star. This was where she got murdered. The neophyte passed that and continued and then stop to breathe.[/shadow]

"Kunai stop!" Skysong barked, bounding after him. "Kunai! Nobody's dying, stop running!" Skysong bounded after him. A light drizzle had started falling over the Destinian territories while she had been hunting. It had been enough to make the rocks wet. Skysong slipped on a rock, her foreleg slashed but she ignored it, stumbling upright again and continuing to run after him. He'd been running alot recently. Not always physically. But Skysong had seen it. It stung to know he would run from her but she didn't know how to hold him down and convince him she could help. Skysong stopped running in the middle of a clearing, Kunai out of sight. Her black fur was wet, her breath coming in pants and her foreleg stinging.
Turning her muzzle skyward, Skysong let out a long sorrowful note. It sounded almost desperate and deeply sad. She wanted to help Kunai. He should have known that but....
Skysong let her song die away, rain masking tears rolling from her eyes, hidden against her black fur. Skysong simply stood in the clearing, the gash on her leg stinging and throbbing painfully, silver eyes staring ahead, desolate and sad.

[shadow=Blue,left,300]The orphan layyed down and looked at the herbs. Could they help him with his nightmares? It couldn't because it was mental not physical. Plus some wolves say that herbs didn't taste really good. The rain made his solid black coat soak. He looked at the moon and then the Stars. "IF ANYONE IS REALLY UP THERE HELP ME!!! I WANT THESE DANG NIGHTMARES GONE!!! Please..... help" He howled with sorrow. Tears coming out of his cheeks but you couldn't tell.[/shadow]

Skysong's ears perked when she heard Kunai howl. The breeze brought to her other scents as well and her eyes widdened, tail wagging. She knew those scents. Both of them.
Sirius padded tiredly toward the herb meadow. Hopefully there would be something there for energy before he returned to camp looking like he'd been dragged through the mountains. Just as he approached the meadow, he heard Kunai's howl. His eyes narrowed curiously as he padded toward the neophyte. "Kunai?" the new alpha asked, his fatherly-calm tones breaking through the pup's misery. "Why out so far and looking so miserable?"

[shadow=Blue,left,300]Kunai head looked up at Skysong's father and the alpha(same wolf). How could anyone really tell from the rain that was pouring down. "Almost everyone is gone... Almost everyone is dying... They are only a simple flame that went out... almost all of them," He told Sirius and then looked down on the damp soil. A tear came down his tear. Destiny, gone, Star, gone, his mother Jen, gone. Almost everyone that he cares about, gone.[/shadow]

Sirius sat back on his hunches, watching the unfortunate pup with wise eyes. "Kunai....they aren't gone. Our ancestors. Their souls go to the Realm of Eternal Twilight to rest and guide us, to wait to lead us to their paradise. Yes, life is easily taken and when it is given, it is special. Not everyone is dead in any case. Skysong is still waiting. There are wolves willing to help you Kunai. You have only to let them in." The ebony alpha turned his gaze toward the pearly grey clouds raining down upon them. "Finding peace with the fallen....isn't easy. It's hard, very hard and an emotional strain but you must know when to let go. You must live for the living not dwell on the dead." Sirius had once faced that problem, clinging to his dead friends when he'd first come to the pack long before Kunai. He had clung to their spirits and when named proxy, he had been unwilling to accept Destiny's words of him someday being alpha. Part of his journey to where he was now had been learning to let go.

[shadow=Blue,left,300]He tried that when Star died, his guardian. The only one who would have tooken him. Stephen wouldn't because one he was blind and two he couldn't even look at him without reminding him about what happened to Star. Then Destiny died, he knew it was an accentent and Kunai would have accepted that but Destiny was second on the list for adopting him. Kunai had a chance to go with his real mother when she was nice. He had a chance to just to talk to her and he didn't take that. Jen almost killed Skysong for Pete's sake. Then Jen died from having the six pups and the battle with Pride and Jen. Pride won and when Kunai gets stronger, revenge is going to come.
(hee hee revenge lol XD)[/shadow]

Sirius looked at Kunai with tired eyes. "Kunai. You're life has been harder then you've deserved but, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. What kills you makes you wiser. I had to learn that a long time ago. The trick is learning to live for those who have died, those that loved you and wish for you to keep living and be happy. Live for those that love you, dead or alive. That's the only advice I have to offer and I'm sorry it's not more." Sirius had never been a profound wolf. He had always been a live-in-the-moment kind of creature, trying not to dwell and holding his head high with a smile though recent times had made that hard. All wolves faced hardships. You just had to learn to live with them.

[shadow=Blue,left,300]Kunai listen carefully and then just walked back where he came from. There was nothing to do and the rain was going to make him stay up all night. The orphan would have to deal with the nightmares when he gets some sleep.[/shadow]

Skysong stood at the edge of the herb meadow, silver eyes watching her father approach behind Kunai. She took a tentative step toward her friend but stopped, ears laying flat and unsure. Skysong's eyes flickered to Sirius but the scar-eyed brute simply stepped past the two neophytes, continuing his journey home with a small smile for his daughter. Skysong looked from Sirius to Kunai, not sure what to do. "You don't want my help so I won't offer it" Skysong murmured softly, turning and padding after her father. It seemed Kunai just wanted to be left alone with his depression. If that's what he wanted, she'd let him have it.

[shadow=Blue,left,300]Kunai eyes widen when Skysong said something. He did need help but he doesn't want any because it was just plain hard to say that the orphan does need help. His head when down, facing the ground. "I'm sorry Skysong," He woofed to her softly. "If you don't think I need help I'd be on my way now." The heartbroken pup turned around and slowly turned to a different direction.[/shadow]

"Enough you two" Sirius barked, loping past Kunai and grabbing the neophyte's scruff as if he was a pup. "You aren't going anywhere." Sirius sent a stern look at Skysong. The moon-crested she-wolf simply watched without expression. She felt twisted. At first Kunai was her best friend now he was totally different. A stranger to her. Skysong turned and continued back toward the Destinian camp. Sirius put down Kunai, punning him with one of his paws. "You aren't running away" Sirius barked firmly. He doubted the younger male would attack him but Sirius wasn't going to let him go that easily. If he did, he would just be a bad alpha, not offering help and support to his pack when they needed it.

[shadow=Blue,left,300]Kunai watched Sirius set him down, then watch Skysong headed back to the Destinian camp. "I don't have to run away to get away," He told the alpha. The orphan would attack but couldn't in many different way (^.^) One, too little. Two, only a neophyte. Three, Star never taught him how to fight. Four, it would be wrong. Five, he'd be either kicked out or skinned to the bone. Six, he would loose. <~~ best reason not to attack the alpha. The pup sat down looked up at the Alpha's eyes.[/shadow]

Sirius sat back on his hunches, meeting the neophyte's gaze. He knew Kunai had had it rough recently, or at least since Star's death but Sirius had never known the extent of his sorrow and depression. Sirius however, could relate to it. He had felt it, or something like it when his friends had died. The wound still left a scar on his heart but he didn't wear it in the open. He left his sorrow for his nightmares on a stormy night. "Kunai, be honest with me. What's troubling you so deeply? Star's death is a horrid loss and Destiny's death was unexpected but...I never expected this kind of reaction. Is there something more?"
