Carolina padded softly into the dusty hollow, wrinkling her nose slightly as a puff of dust flew up in her face. It wasn't too terribly bad, but she was still just a tad homesick. The grey neophyte stepped further into the hollow, noting the trees that circled it. She sat down in the center, ears pricked for her mentor, Destiny, or any other wolves for that matter.
Carolina was still a bit suprised Destiny had chosen to mentor her herself, but she wasn't complaining. She was actually very happy with this arrangement. This way, Destiny could see first hand how loyal she was to the pack. When she did, some day, become a warrior, Destiny would know she could be trusted just like an other wolf in the pack.

The snowy white form of the alphess was perched below a bramble bush at the hollows end. "Remember, when battling an opponent be careful to know there weaknesses."Destiny dashed into cover. The femme appeared on the other side of the clearing."Make sure to find your opponents weakest point and injure them there.Know there strategy and how they fight."Destiny dashed back into the brush.Throwing her voice this time. "Train your senses. You won't always be able to see an opponent. So know how to pick there scent up. In a large fight you must be careful about where your claws and fangs are. If you cannot be swift and cunning. Then you must be sly and wise. Or brave and strong. Or perhaps, if you are lucky, you will obtain all these qualities and more." Destiny dashed into the open. Leaping over Carolina so she stood in front of the neophyte."Some wolves are swift and defensiveWhile some are offensive."Destiny lept backwards. Out of Carolina's reach.

Carolina's gaze followed the apparently energetic alphess across the clearing and back. "Well...I fought a little in the last Blood Mist battle. I'd say I rely more on my speed than anything else," She told the alphess, not really sure what else to say. So much to learn! Would she really be able to do it all?

Destiny smiled, flicking her tail. "Then perhaps you are like me. Wolven who use their speed and wisdom to out maneouer there foes. Using defensive moves before offensive moves. A good way to be. Though sometimes offense is needed and strength can be useful."Destiny demonstarted this by slamming her claws down on a sturdy tree branch which hung above the hollow.Cracking it in half."You must be strong as well as swift, if you can handle both. Most wolves will say the only way to grow stronger is to fight. Some will say that you are what you are. I say, if you beleive you can become or learn to do something.Than you can do it.I train my muscles by hunting and patrolling."

(pahaha I just spammed Cursico's site. I know that makes me no better then them. I'll stop now, but I just couldn't resist XD )
Carolina nodded, taking this all in. She would be like Destiny; she would learn and train herself to have strength. She would teach her body how to act, not the opposite. She would grown stronger through practice and hard work and effort.
And by laughing in Cursico's face every now and then =p

Destiny could only smile at Carolina."Like I said. I prefer to train my muscles by hunting and patrolling. So I beleive it would be a good idea for us to go one a hunt." Destiny scented teh air. There would'nt be a whole lot of prey in this area. That was good. It would test Carolina and make her tune her senses more. Destiny glanced around the clearing. Pricking her auds to a very slight rustling of wings in the treetops above. Her good eye had become even more acute since it was the only one that worked. She spotted the bird quite easily. Then Destiny turned her gaze back to Carolina."What do you scent?"
(ooooo. What's the link to Cursico's site?MUST SPAM IT ! MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!)

"Um...sparrow?" She thought so, but decided she should check with Destiny. Sparrows were good to eat, but other than that, she didn't know much about the birds. She glanced at Destiny, uncertainty pricking her paws.
[haha thanks =] I think there's only two, maybe three chapters left to do for that one =\ ]

A smile crested her maw. The alphess smiled approvingly."That is correct.Now. Find it with your eyes and nose. Then catch it."Destiny flicked her tail glancing around the clearing. The sparrow would be a very, very, very difficult kill. But, perhaps Carolina could pull it off.

The small bird was near the base of an oak tree, pecking for seeds. It was partially hidden among the frozen weeds, but Carolina's grey eyes locked in on her prey regardless. She took time to think about her approach. She'd have to move slowly, or it would spot her. She'd have to wait untill she was close enough before attacking, too. Deciding to go on her instincts, she dropped into a low crouch and kept her tail low. She circled in slowly, careful to keep as much weight off of her paws and on her haunches as possible. She was inches away from the bird. Now was the time for action... The grey femmora sprang, crashing down upon the bird before it could take off. She killed her prey with a swift bite and delivered it to Destiny. She layed her catch down at the alphess' feet and sat down in front of her mentor.

Destiny sniffed the prey. Healthy and large. Perfect to feed to elders or pups.Destiny nodded her head. "Well done. Almost perfect form. Next time crouch lower to the ground while still keeping your weight off your paws."Destiny smiled."Now, let's head back. There's something in the air..."Destiny motioned for Carolina to pick up her prey. Then glancing around the alphess headed back to camp.

Carolina nodded, bending down to pick up the fallen bird. Twitched of uneasiness flitered into her thoughts. Something wasn't right....someone, somewhere, was in pain..... Carolina picked up her pace untill she was racing into the camp. Dropping her bird in the prey pile, she headed straight into the nursery. Nirvana!
