"Yes! Euphrates is wounded!" Fireflight barked, hoping the healer would spot them. Euphrates...please....hear me. Don't burn out just yet...don't leave. It's not your time yet...come back...I love you...I wish you could hear me...I wish you knew....and now you'll never know... "P-please...I...I don't want you to d-die..." she stuttered, panic beginning to set in. She was tempted to bury her head in his shoulder, but didn't want to aggrivate him wounds. She lay next to him, but not pressed to close. Just touching. It nearly killed her ;; his silence in the middle of the raucus ;; the notion that he might not wake again, that it might be her alone in those meadows.... The tears started slow, then came in a steady stream. "Don't leave....not yet...."

Sedaka raced forward, studying Euphrates. The wolf was hurt very badly, and the sight of the wounds was enough to make the old Healer very nervous indeed. "Fireflight, fetch as much cobwebs as you can.... and hurry!" Sedaka dropped the herbs he had collected on his outing and began pressing down on Euphrate's bloody fur. Please... let him leave, Taiga. Give me your wisdom.
As the wolf pled with his old mentor, Euphrates swam in a sea of oblivion, endless white water lapping at his paws. He was neither drowning nor sinking... just floating directly at the top of the water. Above him, an indigo sky stretched out into the horizon. But with every second, the sky seemed to be pulling away, and the pale waters began dragging him farther under...

Fireflight darted without another word, shaking tears from her vision. If he dies, I die too. And she knew it was true. Even if she remained in body, she would never be the same if Euphrates didn't make it through....and even though she desperately wanted to, she couldn't let herself believe he was going to make it. It would be too painful if he left and she had been expecting him to survive....maybe it would be easier if she just kept running ;; if she accepted fate and let it whisk her away.... No. Don't think like that. Run. Find cobwebs, and run back. The cobwebs were rather easy to find, which she was thankful for. She collected as much as she could carry and dashed back to Sedaka. "Here!"

"Thank you," Sedaka replied hastily, trying as hard as he could not to let his doubts shine through. But it was getting harder, beind as old as he was... he was even older than Arroyo, who was about ready to pass on in the Siverian packs. He needed a replacement. Stop, focus... He applied the cobwebs to the back of Euphrates' neck, hoping that the attacker had missed the vital point on the spine. If it hit his mark, Euphrates won't ever be able to move... He began working on feeding Euphrates herbs.
Euphrates kicked out with his hind legs, trying to surface. His head was rising up and down on the water's surface, strength ebbing as he fought to keep his muzzle above water. If he drowned here... who knew what would happen. Fireflight is in the sky, I know it... He clawed his way upward, but the effort was exhausting...

(Sheera has a healer neophyte, I think -- Kiki )
Fireflight nodded curtly, eyes never leaving Euphrates' close ones.
...Sharpening the knives of young wives, Take two years and call me when you're better, Take teardrops of mine, find yourself wetter...
Please....pull through....
She bit her lip, holding in the waterworks for now. She needed to be strong...but strength right now seemed almost laughable. She hardly blinked, not wanting to miss the moment when he opened his lids once more.

(guess what song I'm listenin' to right now? *it's not the song I was telling you about either* It's: www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ch6B7O7jPg) Sedaka forced the herbs into Euphrates' jaws, sending silent prayers. Euphrates slipped below the water, feeling the water rush through his nostrils. He was drowning. The Healer frowned, for, as he stepped back, he became aware of the worst: Euphrates wasn't breathing. "Damnit," Sedaka cursed. He lunged forward, licking Euphrates chest furiously, trying to revive his heartbeat. Why can't the herbs work faster!?

Fireflight swayed on her paws, the world spinning around her. Lupus let him live! The bile rose higher, and this time, she could no longer hold in the nausea. She staggered away behind a bush to retch, then returned to the battle scene. She sat down next to Euphrates with closed eyes, weeping. Please, send us a miracle!Carolina, though battered, could easily take on her opponent, She sliced into the back of his neck, blood trickling out. He howled in pain and through her off, fleeing into the woods. Carolina rose to her paws and stumbled away, shaken and sickly. She needed to get back to the den before she passed out completely.... (please end your fights now ;; battle is ending )
