Yumi walked along the forest floor with each step crunching on the branch covered earth. Her nose took in the new scents with pleasure. It had taken a long time to get here, and an even longer time to get away from the humans, but she was finally here, and not a human sent could be smelt on air. The breeze swept through the leaves and across her black, silver tipped, fur. Yumiko stopped for a moment and glanced around with eyes full of bright spirit. Her ear twitched as she thought she heard someone coming. Yumi smelt the air, but the breeze was sending the sent away. She had no way of telling where or what was coming.

Kuroshin padded toward the Twilight Lake again, staring blankly at the rippling surface of the vast lake. The night before on this very bank, his foster mother Star had met her fate, fallen prey to the blasted sickness spreading through the terras of both packwolves and loners. He stood alone now, a lean young wolf carved of ivory. A black heart was adorned on his forehead, neatly placed between his eyes. It was a mark passed through his family, mostly marking him as the son of Merci and the nephew of Halo. Both wolves were dead. So was his father, Fell. Shero and Kasa, his brother and sister were gone again and his foster mother dead.
The sound of paw pads made his ears flick but Kuroshin didn't turn his topaz gaze away from the lake. "Who's there?" Kuroshin barked, his voice flat.

Yumi walked fearlessly into the view of the other wolf and looked him square in the eye. If there was one thing she was, it was fearless. She was not afraid of another wolf, or a human...anymore at least. "I am Yumiko." She said, then tilted her head. "And you? Since you so rudely asked for mine." She said, though in most moments she was not the most polite herself. Even though it seemed that she was being completely clueless, her ears were listening intently for any sounds that could indicate more of a pack.

Kuroshin's deep amber eyes flickered to the newcommer and away again. Well, pushy loners weren't new to him. He was used to them even if they ticked him off. It seemed he favored his uncle's behavior more then anyone else in his family...at least since his uncle had died. Kuroshin gazed out at the lake again. "You're new to being a loner aren't you? It's stupid to give out your name when no one asks, especially if someone demands it. I was just seeing if you were one of those pack idiots or not. I don't care what your name is." Still wallowing deep in his own misery, Kuroshin rose to his paws, ivory fur rippling as he moved. Yeah, Kuroshin was young but he was strong, handsome and powerful looking like Halo had been yet holding a sort of grace that Merci had mastered at her first steps, mysterious and moodly like his father.

Yumi seemed unaffected by his words as she looked at him with out fear. It was true, he looked a lot stronger, and possibly faster, but would that stop her? "Well, most people would use a name to define the word 'who', so by asking 'who is there' and me giving a name, is that really stupidity?" No...Yumi loved to anoy those who did not want to be anoyed. "But, even if you did care, my name would be useless to you." It was true. Not a soul would know her here...in fact, no one would no her at all except for maybe a human or two, and they were far from here. Amusement sparkled brightly in her fiery eyes. She was not afraid of him attacking, even if he had the advantage, and that was what showed most in her strange personality. As if this new wolf was not even worth being worried about, Yumi let out a long breath, much like a sigh.
((sorry if I suck at this, it is my first time rping as a wolf))

(thats ok Kuro is jus moody) Kuroshin glanced at Yumi, his amber eyes dark and uninterested. He hadn't shown interest in anything, not since the last of his real family had died on the bank of this lake. "Whatever mutt" Kuro muttered, voice hollow. This wolf smelled like humans, faintly but still it was enough to make his fur prickle. He hated humans. They had shot his uncle, between his shoulders. Kuroshin remembered finding him and it made him shiver. Halo's white fur bathed red, the black heart on his chest bleeding beside the black femme, Mosca whom had tried to come to his rescue. "Human lover" Kuro growled, turning and padding toward the very edge of the lake, picking his way through some of the sparse undergrowth along the lake.

Of all the things to be called, there was only one that would probably spark any sort of anger in Yumi...and he hit it right on. "I am no human lover!" She snarled after him. It was true, she wore a collar and smelled of humans, but in reality Yumi hated them more than anything, and she would have taken the collar off in a second if she could. Without thinking, she followed him. "I hate humans!" Yumiko called up at him, before her anger settled. Well, at least she might be able to annoy him by following him, since words did not work.

Kuroshin growled low in his chest. "You've probably helped them hunt us" Kuroshin growled. "Probably led their pathetic hounds to kill Halo and Mosca or any number of the others wolves those damned humans have shot." Saying the names made him flinch, anger boiling in his veins and making his stomach churn, clenching and unclenching. His eyes were alight with hatred at the mere thought of humans. He hated them. He hated packwolves. He hated the sickness. Some could say he hated the world. They'd be pretty close. Kuroshin padded to the water's edge. He had to get rid of some of this anger or he felt like he'd explode.
Wading into the silvery moon-cast water until he was up to his belly, Kuroshin looked down, eyes still burning with anger and fury. Lunging forward, his muzzle vanished under the water, snapping shut on a fish. Padding back to the bank, Kuroshin dropped it on the bank and stared down at the silvery fish. Needless to say he'd used more force then he probably needed, nearly breaking the thing in half but whatever. Kuroshin hit it with a paw, sending it flying into the undergrowth. He'd need to hunt something bigger to help get rid of his frustration.

Yumi fought to keep her anger down again. Who ever this wolf was, he knew just the right words to make her angry. "The human I was forced to be with lived nowhere near any wolves." She said. "You are the first I have seen." Well, he was the first she had seen since she was forced to watch her pack die as a pup. Yumiko shook off the memories of her past. None of them were good, all of them she wanted to forget, but this was another reason she was different from most personalitlies. When most would have grown to resent everyone and everything, Yumiko came out with a mostly normal aditude. She did not seem to particularly like or hate anything, so she just ignored her past by moving forward without looking back.
Satisfied that she had successfully kept the anger from her voice, she was slightly surprised as the wolf threw a fish right past her. "Well that is a waste of good food." She said quietly. This wolf did not seem particularly interested in anything around him, causing Yumiko to wonder how long he would last being followed before he got angry at her. At the thought, amusement flickered past her eyes once more, but this time she was careful to hide it.

"Go eat it if you want it" Kuroshin growled. "We're all going to die anyway the way things are going." Kuroshin raised his head higher and breathed in, amber eyes reflecting the silver-white of moonlight, cold light dancing across his ivory fur. His head turned to one side, looking past Yumi. "Damn it Moon, why are you following me?" Kuroshin growled, glaring past the other femme.
Misty-eyed and slender, Moon slipped from the undergrowth, head moving from left to right in a slight motion, ears up and clouded eyes glaring toward Kuroshin's voice. "To make sure you don't hurt yourself" Moon barked, turning her head toward Yumi. "I smell a newcommer. Are you actually making friends Kuroshin or are you being a nusince like you have been since Star and Halo died?" Her voice was blunt, somewhat harsh yet had a gentle note to it. The ivory she-wolf padded toward the new scent and stretched out her neck toward Yumi. "Forgive him, he's always been rather rough to handle. My name is Moon."
"Moon get away from her, she's a human's dog" Kuroshin growled.
Moon turned her head toward Kuroshin and snapped her jaws sharply. "Hold your tongue Kuro" Moon barked feircly.
Kuroshin growled angrily but took a step back, eyes narrowed in dislike, tail stiff with aggression.

Yumi had no idea what the wolf was talking about. After all, she had only just arrived. "Die?" She said, slightly confused but immediately tensed. Her ears pricked up at the sound of the new wolf. "Well actually I have been being a nuisance to him I think, but I suppose he is so dimwitted that he does not know a wolf when he sees one. But I am not a humans wolf either, in fact I am not a humans anything." Yumi said to the girl "moon" as if he was not even there. It angered her slightly being called a "human dog" but she chose to ignore it. It seemed that it was just in this wolves personality to be so rude. "But anyhow, I am Yumiko...." she looked at Kuroshin. "Yumiko the wolf." She added. She watched the two, slightly amused that these two seemed like an old couple quarreling with eachother. Well, the could be if Kuroshin did not seem to dislike her so much...unless he really did and was hidding it. Either way, it made Yumi bare her teeth, as if she were smiling.

Kuroshin bared his teeth right back at Yumi. Moon flicked an ear toward Kuroshin, sightless eyes remaining turned toward Yumiko's voice. "Kuroshin if you don't quit acting like everyone in the world is dead I'll send you straight to Star and Halo and let them deal with you."
"Go ahead" Kuroshin growled. "I wouldn't mind. Shero and Kasa don't even care!"
"They don't know yet" Moon pointed out. "Star and Merci would both highly disapprove of you being rude to a new wolf."
Kuroshin rolled his eyes but then seemed to remember Moon couldn't see him do that. "Merci doesn't care and Star's dead you blind old windbag."
Moon's head turned toward Kuro. "Who are you calling old? I'll finish you off right now if you don't hush then you can explain to both mothers, your father and your uncle why you've driven me nearly mad." Moon's attention turned back to Yumiko.
Growling softly Kuroshin slunk off toward the edge of the lake, muttering to himself and casting hateful glances back at Yumi. "Watch it Moon she might have the sickness too!"
Moon sighed softly once Kuroshin was out of earshot. "Forgive him...time and fate have not been kind to his family. After all that's happened I'm not surprised he's acting like Halo."

Yumiko watched the fight blankly, not even bothering to get involved. It seemed that this sort of thing must happen alot between the two, so she figured it would be better to stay out of it. "Oh, do not worry about it. I guess I can see where he is comming from." Yumi said before once again shaking off bad memories. For a moment she wondered about what could have happened to Kuroshins family, but then she brushed the idea off. It would do her no good by knowing. "So what is this that I hear about a sickness? I just arived so I really know nothing about what is happening here." Yumi said with a tilt of her head.
((sorry, short one))

Moon sighed sadly and sat back on her hunches. "Sickness is sweeping through the terras, both loner and pack. Already Kuroshin's foster mother Star has died, as have several other loners. It makes them cough until they cough blood, vomit and some eventually go mad though most don't live past coughing blood before they die." Moon closed her eyes sadly. Though she was sightless, she was no fool. She knew the metallic tang of blood and what it meant. She also knew the horrid scent of sickness. This sickness was a killer, a fast killer if you were lucky, a slow one if you were not.

All amusement fled from her eyes. "So then why don't the healthy wolves leave? To try and escape it?" She asked, forgetting her uncaring attitude for the moment. "And what about a cure?" Yumiko could not even imagine watching someone die so slowly. Especially one she was attached to. Her eyes drifted to Kuroshin, understanding, if only a little, what he must be going through. Yumi had seen her family butchered...but somehow, watching them die with a disease like this seemed so much worse.
