The violet femme sprinted along the riverside, paws light on the icy ground. She halted a little ways upstream, scenting the air. No predators around. She sat, regarding the woods through bright, lively optics. Today she would begin training her new neophyte, Blair. She'd mentioned before to Riley that he needed to take out Tavel as well. She wasn't sure if the brute had heard her or not, as he was still quite frazzled about his mate's pregnancy. Well, if he didn't, she'd speak to him about it later...

Blair calmly trotted through the trees to her teacher. She greated her with a nod. They were a good combination, of course. Blair had always admired her violet fur, and wished she was born that beautiful. She smiled, something not often done by the small neophyte.

Nightshade smiled kindly at the young wolf. "For a start to your training, we'll go on a short tour of the terra. Tomorrow we'll start on hunting techniques, but it's important for you to know your way around your home. Ready to start?"

Blair nodded eagerly. There was an irritation at the back of her throat. She cleared her throat, coughing when that didn't work.

Nightshade turned, purple gaze resting worriedly on Blair. "You should see Annelise or Magic after training...that doesn't sound so good...." She hesitated, wondering if she should order he neophyte to go see the healers now, instead.

Blair shook her head. "I'm fine. Probably just a peice of bone, or something. I'll be fine until we go back to camp, then, if I must, I'll go see Magic. Okay?"

Nightshade nodded, then continued up the riverside. "This is the Twilight River," she explained. "Fish are caught here, and we get most of our water from here. If you're crazy and like to swim, this is the place to do it."

Blair giggled, another thing that was very strange for this fae. Her attention was drawn to a silver fish, it's scales glinting in the sun. She frowned. Of course she would not attempt to catch it, she would get a bath if she did. Instead, she focused on picking her way gently through the undergrowth. She stiffled another cough.

Nightshade's tail flicked back and forth with worry as she felt her neophyte tense. Sickness tainted the air. She wondered if the other packs were experiancing similar things or if Blair was on her own. She led Blair steadily away from the river, heading into the dense woodlands. Eventually, they came to a strip of flat land that stretched on, treeless. Nightshade nodded to the area. "This place is known as the Moose Bothers. The Shimmering Mist wolves were famous for their playfullness and speed...so, as the name suggests, it was here where they would pick on the moose and dart away before a blow of retaliation could be dealt. It's really quite risky, but we've always been able to pull it off. The other packs think we're crazy, but we think the same of them, so I suppose that doesn't really matter!" Nightshade woofed good-naturedly.

Blair laughed, suprised that a cough didn't interupt her. "I would say we are on the brink of insanity." She looked around curiously.

Nightshade smiled, but shook her head. "It's actually really fun! Wanna give it a quick try? There's a lone young one over there," she flicked her tail towards a lone, small moose. It wasn't lost, but it appeared that Momma Moose was out foraging elsewhere and Baby Moose had become bored. Nightshade didn't like preying upon young creatures anyway, so the moose was perfect for their little game.

Blair smiled and nodded eagerly. "Sounds fun! Wait... How exactly?" Her eager face became one of curiousity.

Nightshade's eyes narrowed with mischeif. "Watch and learn!" She slunk forward, making no sound and her form moved stealthily across the frozen turf. She was right behind the moose now, tail flicking with tense excitement. She suddenly lunged forward, tapping the moose lightly with a soft forepaw. She twisted around, landing neatly on her forepaws and making a mad dash back to the ferns and the moose kicked out a hindhoof. It missed her narrowly by a fraction of an inch, blowing a light breeze on her fur. Nightshade reached Blair, breathing fast but eyes aglow with amusement and energy. "Really, it's like we're playing tag with the moose...except the moose doesn't get it...well, anyway, feel like trying it?"

Blair nodded, excitement shining in her eyes. She dashed out, leaping into the air above the moose. She took sort of a step on the moose's back and flung herself into the air, landing on the ground infront of the moose. The creature snorted, frightened when it saw the small wolf. She made her size an advantage. The moose ran toward her and Blair made a mad dash between it's legs, weaving as it stomped toward her. She made her way out, crashing back into the bushes. She smiled. "That was entertaining."
