Liv looked out on the smoky horizon. Some of the pack territory was on fire. She hoped Blue Moon was alright...
Something had been bothering her for a long time, and now she decided she needed to talk about it with someone. And the someone she wanted to talk to happened to be Mirage.

Mirage's black paws beat against the ground as she padded back into Tumbleweed's territory. A combination of Verno's sad emotions and the untethered excitement of pups had forced her to leave. It was too much right now. Mirage caught Liv's scent and paused, looking around. "Liv? Are you here somewhere?" Mirage called curiously. The tang of confusion, worry and slight depseration came to her making her wince slightly.

"Yes, I am here!" She called softly. She had drilled hard on her English in the few hours that had passed between their last meeting. She turned to Mirage, her eyes gaurded as ever. "Can I trust you?"

Mirage was taken by surprise and turned to look at the red wolf. "Well that's your own opinion" Mirage barked. "Frankly I don't think anyone can trust me just because I can practically read their minds so your call" Mirage barked warily, flopping down under a bush with a heavy sigh. With her empathy Mirage could almost read minds. "Secrets, I don't retell them. Anything you have to say is your business. If you wish to say it, it's not my place to repeat it. Snowstorm taught me that."

Liv sighed. "I doubt you know what I'm about to say unless you have laid your eyes on...this." She raised her paw, the s-scar glowing bright with a bright, silver sheen. "Times are changing, Mirage. Do you know what happened to me?"

Mirage shivered and looked away quickly. "Kidnapping" Mirage murmured. "My father has one of those. He said someone took him and tried to sacrifice him but he was saved." Mirage looked at Liv's scar again, a haunted look appearing in her eyes. She was glad she couldn't taste what Liv had felt when that had happened.

Liv swallowed and nodded, tears sprouting in her eyes. "W-who's your father?" She asked curiously, desperate to contact someone like her. "Oh it was horrible! There was a pup who was only three months old and oh..." She couldn't go on, it caused her too much pain.

Mirage forced herself not to flinch. This was pain she'd have to bare. Slowly Mirage inched closer though not close enough to touch. "I know" Mirage murmured. "I felt it on my father, Ragweed. It wasn't fair or right what they did to you." Mirage wished desperately that she could touch other wolves. She had been unable to comfort Verno and now she couldn't comfort Liv. It was horrible and it made her feel horrible.

Liv gasped. "Tumbleweed?! Is he alright?" She inquired eagerly. "i remember he was morning his brother, Ragweed. I didn't know he was also a father! You must have been frantic!" Liv narrowed her eyes with hate. "That is why I think the way I do. Verlust has too much control over this forest. I don't like it here anymore."

Mirage looked around. "Snowstorm thought he ran off" Mirage murmured. "We only met him a few days ago. He doesn't feel like a father. He feels....wrong. Momma doesn't like it either. It makes her tense and sad." A single tear escaped Mirage's eyes but she ignored it. "It's not fair. Tumbleweed his my father and all he does is mope around and sulk."

Liv shuffled her paws uneasily. "I heard my mother say something similar about me to my father last night," She woofed honestly. "But it isn't my fualt...I just can't shake it! It's going to drive me mad!" She sunk to the ground and kicked a few pebbles angirly, as if to prove her point.

Mirage laughed bitterly. "Trust me, if either of us go mad it'll be me first." Mirage sat near Liv. "Why do you think it's your fault? How could you control what happened to you? From what I know from Tumbleweed, you were taken against your will."

"Yes but why me? I feel like I meant to do something but I don't know what! My gut is telling me to get the hellfire out of this Lupus-forsaken place!" She sighed. "Do you think it's possible the packs could move? That we would be safer elsewhere?" Liv mused.

"I don't know" Mirage admitted. "Momma and father are happy in their territory, a little tense right now but mostly happy. Star wouldn't want to move three pups to another place. The packs would move but loners would stay, I know they would because we don't listen to packlaws."

Liv glared at the ground. "These aren't laws! It's common sense! You think Verlust will really let you all just live here peacefully? No. Stay if you wish, but there are six other wolves I want to meet with...." Liv got up and shook the leaves from her pelt. "Thank you...for listening,"
