Howling for the Loners

"I'm not afraid! How many times do I have to say it!" Liv spat, exasperated. She sighed and shook her head. "I'm sorry...I just...I can't believe some wolves!"

"Don't live with such a closed mind" Mirage barked calmly, forcing herself not to flinch when Liv's anger spiked. "Try to see through the eyes of wolves that haven't tasted your kind of freedom for long or those that have lived in their lands for long seasons. They won't want to leave. They'll defend, even if its a loosing fight."

"Well it's not like we're going to be captured, or anything! We'll be living freer lives elswhere than here!" Liv spoke softer, trying to calm herself. Her emotions had been extreme ever since she was saved from her kidnapping. She didn''t really understand it.

"They don't want to think that" Mirage barked, keeping her voice calm. She wondered if empathy would allow her to calm others...Liv really needed to relax. "They think once they've fought other loners for their land that it's theres and no pack can fight them for it. I believe them, or I want to. I want to think we can fight back and win which we can. If the packs and loners fought together, just once, we could drive them off and not have to go anywhere."

"You weren't there last time, though. Neither of us were! My mother and father were...many loners fought beside the packs, but the loss was great, and Verlust was one of the first wolves to walk the forest. She's also the Winter goddess. We're in way over our heads here..." she mused.

"But think" Mirage barked. "If we run, how long do you think it will take for a GODESS to find us. It won't take long. Following scents isn't hard to do. BloodMist will just expand their lands and eventually corner us where there's nowhere else to run. We'll still have to fight, one way or another. It's just a choice of now or later."

"Well..." Liv stopped. It was apparent Mirage thought she simply needed to calm down. "You don't get it. Nobody does!" She growled. "There's a prophecy...seasons change on the twenty-first day of December. Think Mirage, SEASONS. Verlust will be stripped of her title as goddess and most likely killed if things go well..."

[Destiny]

Nezero padded after Livana."Livaina hold up!I may be of some assistence to you!"Nezero's paws swiftly guided him to the fae.He gave Mirage a curt nod.He had to look down to speak to them both.

Liv glanced at Nezero with curiousity and friendliness. "Go on," she woofed softly. Well at least somebody agreed with her!

"I have been across the mountains and back.I know the territory well.if you so badly want to go across then I will lead you.I plan on re-joining Black Mist at a later time anyway so it would be good for me to be around many wolves.Of course there is one thing.I am training a wolf so I may disapear from time to time during the hours in which we have stopped.Her training is essential."Nezero looked calmly upon them.He did not completely agree with her but he didnt disagree either.

Tumbleweed sighed and licked his mate's ear. "It'll be okay. We'll be fine." he said the words with confidence, but he was begining to doubt it himself.

Illusion sighed and sat down. There was no way she would be able to try the journey. Maybe if she tried hard enough... But for a normal wolf, it was impossible.

Leon nodded and walked into the bushes.

The grey msit fae smirked at Notalga and leon.

She gave leon a curt nod."I dont ebleive I have met you before brute.I am Ripple."Her voice had a faint air of authority.The fae was beyond bad.She was plain evil.She had been plotting for so long.

Notalga gave Ripple a curt nod."Good to see you Ripple."she greeted the fae.
