Coldfire's well built form padded through the trees into the Free Meadow. His shadow was cast along by the chilling silver light from the moon above. Bright amber pools burned through the darkness like flickering flames, his face, as always, carefully expressionless. His silver-grey fur streaked with ebony rippled over his well muscled bodice as he moved easily into the meadow. Moonlight shrouded around his form, illuminating his silver and black fur. The handsome brujo stood in the heart of the Free Meadow, head turned toward the night sky. His face held no emotion nor expression. It never did. It hadn't in moons and moons, over three years. He lived up to his name. Cold to all though when he fought fierce like a fire.
A killer however, is what he thought of himself as. Driven into madness by his pack's death, he had killed any wolf that had crossed his path or at the very least wounded him. For two moons he held very little memories, driven by his anger and rage. Now he stood alone and cold in the heart of a coming winter. The whisper of pawsteps met his handsome auds but he didn't move. The tensing of his muscles was barely noticed under his thick fur.

Piratica was edgy, which was very very unusual, she could not stand being apart from her brother for this long it was almost a physical pain. She was now a pack wolf, which felt even stranger than the absence of Heretic. she had longed to be a part of Blood mist since she was a pup, but now that they were she had had to return to the loner territories, just for one last time to bathe in the unforgiving and rarely fond memories that its freedom had reaped, she was now a warrior, a fighting unit in one slowly growing body of wolves most of which were constantly seeking vengence and death. she shook her elegant head angrily, she needed to bring down some prey just to feel its life slip away, its pulse slowing indefinately in her jaws. The musk of a strange brute jerked her from her thoughts, she knew most of the loner brutes, had fought and lain with many of them. A gentle growl formed in her throat, she moved on silent paws towards the scent allowing herself to make just enough noise to alert the other wolf of her presence, if he wanted to fight her he would need the warning, she would never need the element of surprise to bring down a brute, however strong his scent.

Although her path was undecided, Luin walked with purpose into the meadow. Not many other wolves came here, so she was glad to be alone. Her footsteps were as soft as the breeze, and her form was blured in the moonlight while being among the silverlit grassblades.
Her icy blue orbs stayed clear of any movment or presence while her ears listened for things outside her view. An owl hooted on the further side of the area. Suddenly, Luin took in the sounds of a wolf besides herself who walked in the meadow Stopping and looking about, the fae saw him. It was Coldfire, the brute she had run into while hunting some time ago. What he was dong here she didn't know. Wandering like herself was Luin's best guess.

For some reason, when Luin's scent reached his nose, Coldfire turned his head in her direction. It was odd. When Luin came near, it seemed Coldfire couldn't ignore her like he did the rest of the world. When she was around, it seemed his self-given exile had ended. His bright golden orbs burned through the darkness of the night, searching for the source of the femme's scent. Coldfire breathed in. Her scent was strong so she was nearby. "Luin?"

Luin grinned. It was Coldfire after all. "Yes. It's me," she replied, striding toward his voice in the dark. She got a little chill and shook slightly. What was that?
The fae hoped he didn't think that she was following him. They just happened to be in the free lands at the same time. That was all she could say.

"I see" Coldfire murmured, nodding toward the fae. He saw her form clearly even through the shadows of the night. It seemed that little missed Coldfire's bright gaze when the sun went down and the moon came up. He noticed Luin's shiver and mentally flinched. "Do I scare you?" he asked, watching for a reaction.

Luin stopped a few feet before Coldfire. She cocked her head to the side at his question, then answered, "No. Just a chilly breeze I felt."

Coldfire watched Luin's expression. She was telling the truth. Inside, Coldfire relaxed. At least he wasn't as scary as he had once been. Maybe he was and Luin was simply used to him? Either way, Coldfire wasn't complaining. Luin was good company, if not sometimes simple. At least she didn't judge him for his dark appearance. "I see" Coldfire barked softly. "Why out this far? Seems odd to meet so many times." Often, if Coldfire saw a wolf once, he never saw them again.

"Hmm...," Luin smirked. "You call once 'many times'? I'm out here for the same reason you are, putting it simply: this is a Loner territory, and I am a Loner."

Coldfire looked upward. "For me its meany" he said plainly. Coldfire's muscular form rippled as he rose to his paws. He looked over at Luin. "Well I won't disturb your hunting. Good hunting to you." Coldfire wanted company. He did but knew it was more then he deserved. Endulging in company like Luin's wasn't something he deserved. Coldfire knew and understood that. Lives he'd taken wouldn't allow him that kind of socializing, even if he did like Luin's company. She was....different then the other loners he had met in the past.

"Wait a moment," she said as Coldfire was about to leave. "Why can't you stay a little longer? I'm not hunting, and wouldn't mind the company..." Luin thought it sad of him to barely speak to another wolf, even if they'd only known them for a little amount of time. And she'd barely seen Coldfire speaking with other wolves in the first place. Didn't the brute think he was able to talk to anyone?

Coldfire froze in mid-step, thinking fast though his visage remained blank. Someone wanted his company? That was new. Slowly, Coldfire turned to look at Luin, ebony streaked fur rippling slightly. Coldfire took a step or two closer and sat back on his hunches. "Alright" he consented. "Though better company lies all around." Plenty of loners roamed these lands. Choosing his company seemed odd to him but he decided it was best not to struggle though he knew he should. Still, he liked Luin's company.

So, pleased and not pleased with his response, Luin began to lead Coldfire onward into the meadow, staying beside him. "If there is better company elsewhere," she asked, "then why weren't you with them just now?"

Coldfire followed, mulling over his response to Luin's odd question. No one ever asked him things like that. For once, the large brujo lowered his head, ears flicking uneasily. "I...don't deserve the company of other wolves. Can't trust myself among them." Coldfire's blazing amber pools fixed on the meadow, not looking at Luin though his ears continued twitching uneasily.

Luin was a little startled at Coldfire's reply. Not deserve other wolves' company? That was a little odd to think of. "Can trust yourself? What do you mean?"
