Luin decided not to interfere. The Rogue wanted to fight Coldfire, but wanted to capture her. So, she had to prevent herself from being found. As soon as the two began to fight, the fae leapt into a nearby thicket and watched from there. She wanted so badly to fight, to help, but knew that she couldn't. This was Coldfire's battle.

Coldfire released the rouge and leapt back, front limbs and head lowered in a battle stance, tail stiff and a thunderous growl rumbling in his chest. His fangs were tinted pinkish red with the blood from the rouge. The rouge staggered back a bit, alos snarling and a bit of red on his fangs. It didn't worry Coldfire. The rouge rushed him. Coldfire sidestepped only to be slammed in the side by the brute as he veered at the right moment. The breath was knocked out of Coldfire and before he could move, the brute grabbed his neck.
Snarling furiously, Coldfire twisted, tearing his own fur and skin as he jerked himself loose from the rouge. The rouge snarled angrily and leapt forward to try and attack Coldfire again. Coldfire had had enough. He too ran forward and leapt. The two collided in mid-air. There was a sickening crack and the two dropped back to earth. Coldfire stepped back. The black loner was limp, his neck broken. Coldfire was glaring down at the dead wolf with no expression, as if he'd done nothing more then caught a hare.

Now all was silent but the sound of death. Luin came out of her hiding place slowly and quietly. Padding up next to him, looking at the dead wolf before them. Luin looked at him, a sense of admiration in her smile as well as gratitude. He'd saved her.

Coldfire grabbed the brute by the scruff and hurled the carcess into the creek. It splashed and was carried away swiftly by the current. Coldfire glared after it for a few moments. "Load of fox dung" Coldfire muttered. Dipping his muzzle into the creek, he parted his jaws and let the water wash the blood from his fangs and take the metallic taste out of his mouth.

The fae watched Coldfire hurl the dead wolf into the creek. The corpse fell into the water with a splash and bobbed for a few moments before floating down with the current. Luin said quietly, a grin on her face, "You've done it!"

"Done what?" Coldfire asked, not looking at Luin. "Killed another wolf? Yeah, I'd say I've done it." Coldfire shook loose water from his muzzle, a few diamonds of water catching the moonlight. Coldfire turned and looked over at Luin. He hesitated for a moment before rising to his paws and starting off slowly, as if nothing had disrupted his walk.

"No," Luin said, shaking her head. "I mean that you used something that you thought was bad for good."

"It's not good when your using your size and speed to kill innocent wolves without thought" Coldfire barked, padding toward a growth of leaves. It was wintermint, not often used by wolves other then to soothe stomach aches. Coldfire dipped his muzzle into the leaves and nipped off a few leaves with suprising skill and acutness. The brute chewed the leaves and swallowed the, shuddering. "I hate the taste of blood" Coldfire muttered.

Ugh, she thought. He's not going to get it. "What I mean is," Luin said, trying to rephrase it. But after a bit of thinking, she decided on it. The fae said, "Thank you."

Coldfire looked over at Luin, studying her expression carefully. After several moments, Coldfire turned and continued, muscules rippling smoothly under his thick ebony and sterling coat. Coldfire raised his head and sniffed for a moment. They were near the borders of BlackMist and GreyMist. "GreyMist has gone and BlackMist is leaving" Coldfire murmured. He looked over at Luin. "Many loners are following the packs. Will you?"

Luin lowered her head a little, thinking, and answered, a little sadness in her voice, "I don't know. Who knows as to where they are going, and I don't have a family in the Clans anymore." She brought her head back up and sighed, "Things have become a little confusing since the battle."

"Things always are" Coldfire murmured. "War and bloodshed brings nothing but sadness and confusion yet wolves lust for it." Coldfire shook his head and sighed, looking up at the moon. The ivory sphere reflected in his emotionless amber eyes. He felt seasons older then he was, far too tired and had seen far too much. "Well, going with them is probably safer then staying here. I've heard talk of many loners. A loner spoke out against BloodMist and wound up dead not long after though it may simply be a rumor."

"It might just be," replied Luin. "Since loners take no real sides, they have almost free speech against anyone." She then shrugged, and looked at the bubbling creek, "But as you said, war brings nothing but sadness and confusion..."
