Sunblaze's golden-red form could be seen bounding through the forest, glimpsed between the darkened trees as moonlight splattered her back and sides. Honey-tone crystals glimmered through the darkness as she ran, limping slightly from the healing broken paw she still sported. It had been about a moon and a half since she'd last left Thite with Mosca and odd things had been happening since. She felt haunted and yet very alone. It was like she was hearing voices and yet she was standing in an empty room. It was creepy and scary, leaving her with nightmares each night. She heard the last of her father's words, spoken but unheard. Sun knew he had had some sort of answer for her but for some reason, when he had spoken, she had been unable to hear. Now as she ran, she was looking for the connection, something to bring GoldenMist back. She had to hear it. Something to soothe her wary soul and ease the pain of a broken heart.
Though she hadn't liked leaving Thite with Mosca, Sunblaze knew he had loved her more then he ever would her. It was best for them both. They completed each other, it was obvious. That left Sun to fall to the side, coming out only when the sun died away and running with no place to go. Now she just kept running, ignoring the haunting scent drawing closer.

The brute loped onward.Scars coated his pelt.Alll inlflicted by the brute Ronin. One such wound was still healing. It had been the deepest. The brujo was blessed with a pelt of silken snow. Soft , haunted orbs scanned the terra. That all to familer scent flooded over him.Sunblaze.Sweet Sunblaze. The femme was nearby. This would be the first time he saw her since.... it had happened.
The form of the brute was mostly healthy.Thite was even larger now and still growing. The brute was becoming quite massive.Larger than Ronin at any rate.Perhaps he might even get to twice Ronin's size. Then he could slaughter the damned wolf.No.Ronin did not deserve the name "Wolf". He was worse than a house pet. Worse than a bloody god for saken cat.

Sunblaze kept running, ignoring the slightly growing pain in her paw. She looked unhealthy and rather sickly, having not hunted in a while. Sunblaze's frame, naturally thin and slender, was nothing more then bones and fur or so it seemed. Her red-gold fur once lush and healthy, glowing in sunlight, seemed dull and hung lank from her frame. As she ran, her step was slightly hindered by the healing paw. A livid scar was hidden under her fur around her throat where Ronin had tried to rip her open for getting in his way. Sun leapt over a brook. She smelled him now and her heart tightened, leaping into her throat and making it hard to swallow. Sun ran faster, trying to escape. She ran as if the devil was on her heels. She didn't want to face him anymore, not when she looked as pathetic as she did, honey colored pools darkened slightly with her growing ill-health.

Thite began to lope at a quicker pace. Then he was running. The gait was not right. He favored his injured left paw.It had not healed completely.No.The brute was afraid.Of facing her.SUnblaze.How could he face her.He did not have Mosca.he did not have Sunblaze. He had nothing! They were his soul, his passion, his love, his life.Damn,he could still scent her.It was as if she was following him but when he looked behind his back there was nothing there. Then he new.She was in front of him.COming from the opposite direction. That had to be it.

"Go away" Sunblaze closed her eyes and murmured, so quietly no one would hear. "Just let me curl up and waste away." Opening her eyes again, Sunblaze broke into an open field, moonlight washing her red-gold fur silvery grey. She couldn't run anymore. Days without eating, nightmare-filled dreams and constant motion had used up all of her energy, or whatever was left to give. Stopping in the field, panting and looking around almost wildly, Sun looked for him. He was near. She knew it. She could feel it. Her ears were ringing with the heartbeat of another, or maybe it was just her frantic racing heart. Either way, it unsettled her and made her uneasy. Could she face him? What would he say? That he'd chosen Mosca? Sun didn't blame him. Mosca had seemed like a good wolf and a good wolf for him. Sunblaze knew how to be happy for others. She'd done it all her life. She had nothing to be happy for, ever. Her family was gone again because Sun refused to face them. Her father was unable to see her now. Everything Sun had been happy for had been taken. Thite was no different.

Thite continued on at his irregular gait.Heart racing madly. What would he tell her? That Mosca was gone?It was true. But would she beleive him?And even if she did it would not matter.No.Nothing mattered anymore. He sped up until her scent flooded over him.His paws halted in voluntarily.NO!!.His mind screamed. But his heart was pulling his paws towards the scent.Until it was so strong it was like a poison.A poison he loved. Then he saw her.

Sunblaze didn't notice Thite was standing at the edge of the clearing. It seemed not to matter. His scent was enough to make her heart flutter and her mind spin madly. It was insane but Sun honestly wondered if someone could get drunk on the scent of another wolf. It was probably her imagination. Sunblaze hoped it was but then again she also longed for the company of a real wolf, one of flesh and blood rather then those haunting her sleeping times. Sun turned her head and her darkened pools locked onto Thite. He looked better then she did. His pelt was at least cared for and muscle still stood strong upon his bones. She was ragged and messy, her fur simply hanging from her bones like a wet rug hung to dry. Sunblaze didn't know what to say but a gleam of longing flickered in her eyes. She wanted to go to him and see if he was real but she kept herself in check, waiting for Mosca to appear or someone else.

Thite almost stepped forward. But his paws faltered.Soft, longing, haunted eyes locked onto her.Her.Sunblaze.He wanted to back away. But he could'nt.He wanted to go to her.But he coukd'nt.The femme probably did not even want to look at him. After what he had done. How could she even want to see him.Or scent him.But he could not deny it.The fae still made his heart skip a beat.Still made his stomach flutter with butterflies. He still loved her.No matter how many times he tried not to fall for her.Over and over he did.His world will never be what he expected. If he did not belong there.Who would have guessed it?Its never too late. But for them was it?

Sunblaze gazed at Thite with a slightly gaurded expression. She was wary, careful. She didn't want to do something that would bring on Mosca's wrath or make her jump off a cliff again. For several heartbeats Sunblaze simply watched and waited. No Mosca. He was truly alone. Moving slowly, Sunblaze padded toward him, limping slightly. Sun reached him and looked at the slightly older ivory brute. Sunblaze tentativly reached up and brushed her muzzle against his, trying hard not to flinch away in fright. She felt warmth. He was real. No dream. It was just her and him. Sunblaze took a small step back. "Hi" she murmured, lowering her head to look at her paws rather then at him. Her proud spark, the bitting adder tongue that had made her well known seemed to have gone away.

Thites heart skipped a beat as she brushed her muzzle to his.The expression in his eyes was a mix of sadness, fright and worry.Sunblaze was so skinny. Her fur simply hung from her bones. She was.So fragile,so tired,so....beaten."Hi."The words were quiet. He gazed down at her.Carefully he reached forward and touched his muzzle to hers.Heart skipped a beat again. Then he pulled away.Afraid she would snap at him.

Sunblaze bit back a low whine when he stepped back but she wasn't surprised. Last time she'd seen him she'd been yelling at him to remember Mosca. She hadn't wanted him like that, unable to remember. She had wanted him to be happy and he had seemed happy with Mosca. Was she wrong? Half of Sunblaze hoped she was. Half hoped he was simply looking at her out of pity. Sunblaze looked up at the moon. "It's been so quiet....I almost forgot what another's heartbeat sounds like" Sun murmured, closing her eyes and listening to the steady beat. Unlike most wolves, since she had been born on her father's dying heartbeat, she could distinctly hear individual heartbeats of wolves and memorize the smell and taste of their blood. It was creepy and part of what set Sun so far apart from other wolves.

Thite did not smile.Lip twitched.Tail was held low."You are the first wolf I've seen since..."he did not continue but instead cut himself off.Since Mosca jumped into the river and Halo ran off.Since you screamed at me.Since Serra almost died.Since I almost lost you.He said to himself.

"I'm sorry I left" Sunblaze murmured. "I wanted you to be happy. Mosca is the one you pledged your life to. I didn't want to get in the way." Sun looked at Thite. They stood about a foot or two apart. Sun wanted to stand next to him and sleep but she knew what horrors lurked in her sleep noadays. It seemed impossible that she would ever rest peacefully. Though Kojo could no longer speak, her mind brought memories into her dreams, memories of Kojo and Ronin, of Thite, Serra and Faith. She would wake up in the mornings and feel more tired then when she'd gone to sleep though she had recently gone into a nocturnal cycle, sleeping in the day and moving about at night. Sunblaze looked at Thite, a spark of affection still lingering in her eyes though she tried to dull it down. She didn't want to make Thite's choice hard by getting in the way. When it came to him, Sunblaze made herself small and quiet, keeping out of the way like a pup scolded by her parents.

Thites ears drooped at Moscas name."Mosca left. After I washed up on shore she gave me some herbs. We bickered and talked for a while. Then she lept into the river again.I tried to follow but I was so tired and beaten up I blacked out on the cave's floor."Thite's eyes still sparked with affection for her.For Sunblaze."Revenge is a dangerous thing. It seems that Mosca wanted her revenge more than she wanted my love.I let revenge get the better of me when I fought Ronin."He touched her nose to his. This time not drawing away."and I almost got you killed in the process."The words were tainted with sadness and anger at himself.

"I did that myself" Sunblaze murmured. "Ronin hated my father for drawing Faith away. He could have saved Kojo, I know it. He tained Serra and hunted Faith. I wanted his blood shed just as much as you did and I got in over my head." Sunblaze stepped a bit closer, breathing in his scent. Her paw didn't hurt, her body didn't ache and she didn't feel tired. It was like he was her energy. Sunblaze brushed her muzzle against his cheek and buried her muzzle in the thicker ruff of ivory fur around his neck. She closed her eyes and focused on breathing in his scent, savoring the fact that maybe there was a chance. Maybe they could make it. Maybe they would make it.
