Fleeing the Past (Sunblaze/Thite)

Thite pulled her closer to him.Giving her a wolf hug."I was the reason you were almost crushed.In my blood lust I leaped on Ronin.I did not realize you were undernearth him.Then I threw out of the way."He breathed in her sweet scent.Sweet Sunblaze.Oh how he had longed for the company of she.Not Mosca.SUnblaze.He loved Mosca.But.He was starting to realize.To think.He loved Sunblaze more."You could have let me die down on that ledge.I would have deserevd it.But no. you saved me.It was not something you had to do.But you did.."His voice trailed off.SUnblaze.SUnblaze meant more to him than revenge.Than his dead parents.Than finding his sister.Than anything.Maybe.In this cruel hating world.Two wolves might just be able to make it.Maube two lovers could make it.But did she love him?After what he had done could she love him?

"I wouldn't have left you down there" Sunblaze murmured. "Ever. I knew you wanted to kill Ronin. I wanted it too and I got in the way. I got what I deserved in the end. I paid the price for revenge and lost it all." Sunblaze closed her eyes again. She'd lost them all. Faith. Serra. Hope. Fate. Kojo. They were all gone. Thite hadn't though. No. She'd left him. It seemed foolish and stupid now but back then it had seemed the only way. "I don't know why but...I just can't go back to them" Sunblaze murmured, meaning Serra and Faith. "I told Serra I would be there and now I'm not. I can't face them."

[Destiny]

Thite moved closer.Pulling her as near to him as he could.No.He did not ever want to let her go again.Not again."I don't know what became of them.Serra was strong.Wither way she will take care of Faith and Hope was there too.I'm sure your sister understands why you did what you did."This seemed like the old Thite.But no.He would never be the old Thite again."Don't ever say you've lost it all Sunblaze."He murmured into her fur."Because even if everyone leaves you.If the world turnes upside down and heaven becomes hell.If you think your the only wolf left in the world.You'll turn around.And i'll still be there.Standing at your side."The tears would have come but he fought them back."I will never leave you.Because the only tought that scares ne.Is the thought that you will be left alone."His voice ranf with the passion he felt.

Sunblaze drew back now. "I don't deserve it Thite. You know that. Ronin's blood is in my viens, whether I acknowledge it or not he is part of me and will probably haunt me until the day I die. I'm not a normal wolf. I specialize in blood and heartbeats. Each one sings a rhythem to me and something tells me Ronin's beat hasn't stopped." Sunblaze closed her eyes looking and feeling pathetic. She was like a lost pup, wondering without knowing where she was going. Sunblaze opened her eyes and looked at Thite. "I love you but....I don't think I deserve any of your love."

Thite could not beleive what he was hearing."Ronin's still alive.I saw him.But I can't kill him now.He has a mate.And as much as I want too.I don't want to be the wolf who rips him from his mate and their pack.Perhaps even from his pups if they are having any."Thite was afraid to take his eyes of her.Afraid she would disapear."I'm going to tell you something Sunblaze.I loved you the first time I layed eyes on you.Mosca was gone then.I assumed she's left me.i never expected her return.When she came back I realized I still loved her.Then you were so angry with me.I thought you hated me.And honestly I would'nt have blamed you if you had.When I woke up from the amnesia.I remembered you.Not because you were the wolf who was there.but because it was you.Not Mosca.You.You seemed so sure.And I was so unsure.I saw Mosca and I realized I loved her.Again.But after.When I woke up.Cold.Hungry.Tired.Beaten.ALone.Do you know who I wanted beside me?You.No Mosca you.That was when I realized the truth."Thite took a deep breath.Studying her face.Her eyes.He was about to go on.

Sunblaze watched Thite carefully. He wasn't lying. She could see it in his eyes. Ronin with a mate. The idea made her furious. He had taken the lives of so many and ruined the lives of even more and he thought he had right to be happy?! Sun's jaw clenched. Perhaps she should pay good ol' uncle Ronin a visit? Make his life hell like he'd made hers. The anger made her blood boil and a flash of bloodlust was seen in her eyes before Sun forcefully pushed it away, taming it down and dulling the fire. Another time her anger could be released but not here, not now. Sunblaze made herself relax as she looked at Thite. "A wolf that has drawn blood from innocent kin have no right to happiness Thite" Sunblaze growled. "Mate or no Ronin ruined too many lives to be happy."

[Destiny]

Thite's gaze softened."True.But does the fae who is his mate not have a right to happiness?It is obvious she does not know of his past.If we kill Ronin.Were only hurting her.Ronin is not afradi to die Sunblaze.He knows he will be residing in some horrible hell.he just doesnt care."Thite let the thought pass him.Then he carefully leaned forward.licking her on the muzzle.Then pressing his crown to her chest."I.Love.You."

Sunblaze wasn't sure she agreed with Thite. That fae had a right to know how horrid Ronin was and how many ways so many wolves wanted to torture him to death. Hope, Fate and Faith would get no justice of the years they'd been confined by Ronin. Kojo would get no justice for his battles against Ronin, even if they were silent ones. Serra wouldn't ever get back at Ronin for how he'd twisted her mind. Thite's words brought her crashing back to earth so fast Sunblaze could swear she felt whiplash. She blinked, caught completely off guard by Thite's sudden statement. Sunblaze brought herself out of her shock and licked Thite's ears, resting her muzzle against his. "I know" Sun murmured.

[Destiny]

Thite let out a sigh .Despite his healthy look.The brute was exhausted.Yet he was afraid to sleep.Afraid that when he woke she would be gone.And he would never find her again.but they both needed sleep.My den.My old den.It's not that far from here.He gazed into her eyes for a moment."Are you tired?"He murmered."My old den is just down there.Or thats were it was.last time I used it was...around when I first met you."He flicked an aud in the direction behind her.

Sunblaze smiled. "Lead the way. I don't really remember back that far though I do remember...I said something about you eating a fox I think." That hunt, when she'd hunted for herself, refusing to be provided for by Ronin, seemed so long ago. It seemed a different world from the one she stood in now, a hardened wolf that had seen too much for her young age. Back then things had been simple. If only she had just accepted Ronin as her father. But no. Kojo had forced the truth into the open, exposed Ronin for what he was and threw his daughters into a fight that had changed them. Why? Sunblaze knew that it would be a question she would ask him when she died. Why had he done it?

[Destiny]

Thite touched her shoulder with his tail.Then began to pad slowly toward the den."I remember that.The damn thing had eaten all my food and i was half starved to death.'He flicked an aud at the crackling of brush.Then realized it was just a bird.The brute was almost afraid to take his tail from her shoulder.Afraid she would be gone.Disapear.Like a ghost that had never been there.Of course.He kne wthat would not happen.But the fear was there anyway.

Sunblaze smiled lightly for the first time in moons. "I was hunting because I refused to eat something Ronin had killed. I was just a pup back then and I guess I still am. I just...don't feel like one." To be honest, Sun was only a little older the the standard neophyte, about seven or eight moons at most, not that she kept track. Sunblaze saw the den up ahead and smiled, remembering the first time she'd seen Thite. She'd blown him off as just another annoyance, like Ronin or Faith. Not anymore. Sunblaze felt sorry for insulting him back then but knew she couldn't change it.

[Destiny]

Thite shook his crown."Your not a pup anymore Sunblaze.You may be young.But your a true wolf now.You've learned almost all there is to know about fighting and hunting.And you know more than that."A slight smile crossed his maw.Finally his paws reached the entrance to the old den.Carefully he stuck his head in and scented the air.the only scent was that of the den itself.It was sortof a small dip in the ground.small in width that is.It was nice and cozy inside.The den's walls were thick.He had woven the bush with thorns and leaves, twigs and mud.Anything that would keep the cold out and the warm in.The floor of the den was still coated in feathers,moss,leaves and the such.THough it was a bit old.It was still quite comfotable.Moving to the side he gestured with his crown for her to enter first.

Sunblaze padded into the den and curled up near the back, looking like a cat about to drift off to sleep. She felt almost content. In the morning the problem of her hunger could be solved but for no sleep came first. Sun was amazed that he had taken her back, forgiven her for leaving him and so easily opened his heart to another fae, especially after what she had done. Now she waited for Thite to join her in the den, half way between drifting asleep and unconciousness.

[Destiny]

Thite glanced around.Checking once more to make sure no wolf or predator was near.When he was satisfied that they were safe he padded into the den.Carefully he walked over Sunblaze.Settling himself in behind her.Gently he lay his crown on her's.Careful not to put weight on her.One paw instinctively went over her shoulder.Insomething between a hig and a protective thing.But more of a hug.No sooner had he settled in then it began to lightly rain around them.No water leaked into the den.Instead there was just the rythamic beating of it on the dens outside walls.Rain.something he loved.Rain had always been a romantic thing to him.For some odd reason he could not place.
