Desel ran off shortly after Nova did. Tears in his eyes. Tunder watched her mate but her attention was turned to Desel. She growled and ran after him he was heading straight at a clift. Her stomach crunched up with panick, she lunged foward and grabbed Desel by the scruff fling him back. She snarled roughtly as her bodice skidded over the dirt and stopped at the edge of the clift. She swallowed and carefully rolled onto her paws. "DESEL!", she barked and shook her fur, anger sparkeled in her eyes. Desel sniffled and lowered his head to his mothers call. "Dont you do that again...whats wrong?, Tundra asked delicately. Her heart ached for her own pups rejection. Her crimson orbs landed again on her mate and pup....she picked Desel up by the scruff and started to walk away from the pack. "Lets go....", she whispered to her pup that she held in her mouth.

Azari smelled it again. That familiar scent. Ari raised his head. A fine layer of snow tumbled from his crown as he moved. Nova burrowed closer to his side. He couldn't leave her there. Too long in the cold and she would freeze. Ari carefully moved and rose to his paws. Gimini padded over and took his place, winking at him. She'd taken up the post of pupsitter for Nova since Ari had been busy after Tundra's disappearance.
Ari skirted the pack, looking from wolf to wolf, following his nose. Then she came into view. He froze, clear eye focusing on the pretty femme. "Tundra?" Azari barked cautiously.

Tundra had just finished leaping over the clift she almost fell thru. Desel hanged in her jaws quietly and still. "What?", she snarled thru the pups scruff she turned around not exepcting Arizar to be standing there, her cold crimson eyes held deep hurt and nothing else.Quickly she leaped back over sitting down infront of him, lowering her crown to set Desel down. She curled her thick tail over his fragile bodice to keep him warm. She reached out and rammed her snout against Aris softly with affection she got up lightly almost as if a crouch but keeping her tail still over Desel. Light whimpers came from her throught. "I...Im sorry", she whispered and licked his ears.

"What do you have to be sorry for?" Azari asked, completely taken by suprise. He turned his head. "Gemini, let Nova come over here."
Gemini nudged Nova awake and nodded toward Ari. The little pup, a perfect and stunningly beautiful mix of Ari's dark fur and blue eyes and Tundra's light fur and simple stunning beauty. Nova made her way across the snow toward Ari. Ari rose to his paws and picked up Nova by her scruff and carried the pup over to Tundra and Desel. Sitting back on his hunches, Azari put the pup in front of him. Nova looked up at Tundra curiously. She had little to no memory of Tundra, since her mother had left at a young age and only taken Desel. "Who's she?" Nova barked, looking at Ari.

Tundra looked down at her paws and said nothing. How was she to explain what she had to say...."nothing...", she whispered and looked down at Nova. Desel flickered his ears foward and watched Nova with a disgusted look in his eyes. He turned away and didnt even look at her again. Tundra shook her head feeling the snowflakes dissolving into her coat. "Im your mother", she barked kindly and ignoring the comment Maple made.

Nova looked at Tundra coolly. She wasn't a dumb pup. She knew that Gemini wasn't her mother, simply a babysitter for when Azari couldn't keep track of her. Ari had told her that and she understood it as much as a pup could. "Alright" Nova barked, settling herself between Ari's front paws, pressing against his softer underbelly fur.
Azari case a rather disgruntled look at Nova then looked up at his mate. He let out a low affectionate whine and touched her muzzle. "It's ok" he murmured. "Welcome back."

Maple looked at Desel and flickered her ears lightly. "Whats wrong with his face? You can really tell whos his mother..." she sneered. She and Santo laughed.
Tundra looked at Maple and snarled loudly bareing her fangs. "Thank you...", she whispered to her mate and shifted a little bit annoyed. "Though some dont bother to be nice on the welcome", she woofed and looked down at Desel. "I have alot to tell you", she whispered only so Ari could hear.
Desel got up to the faes comment. He walked around his mother turning his scarred side of his muzzle away from everyone. He pressed against Tundra. "I dont like it here...", he whispered coldly and looked at Nova...why did she fit in so well?
Desel got up and shook his light colored fur. looking at the two wolves who laughed at him. He said nothing but kept a serious posture. Looking up at Ari, he pressed against his mothers fur.

Azari looked down. He had to angle his head to look at Desel through his clear eye. The blind eye was clouded and his face and body were covered in scars from his fights with Bloodfang. Part of one ear was missing. His eye lingered on Desel's scarred muzzle. "Walk with your head held high and bow to no one. Your scars only mean you've survived."
Nova's fur, light grey streaked with darker grey and clear sapphire pools were pretty and she did fit in but not as well as some would think. The daughter of a wolf that had considered rebellion and Tundra, well known for less glamorous things, Nova had only had her father and Gemini as company.

Mist stood up, howling for her pack. They'd rested here for two days now. And it had suddenly become bitterly clear in that time exactly how long Rain had been gone. Raku thought she should assume leadership now. And honestly, after today, Rain wouldn't be able to find them. There was the lightest of snows coming now, but it would be enough to cover their path. "Wolves of White Mist, please gather!" She howled. Nevertheless, she still held true to her original promise. They would make up the distance today, however.
On another note completely, there had not yet been signs of Black Mist. Had they left alright?

Akane jumped up. "Come on, Aimi! Let's see what they have to say!" He ran over to where Mist was. His feet were pounded restlessly into the ground.
Aimi kept her ears pricked as she walked over. "Think we're going to travel now?" she asked her brother. "I do hope so. I want to really see where the packs are headed."

The wind was picking up and snow was falling steadily to the ground. Their trail would be completely covered within the hour.
Mist, we need to accept it. Rain's gone.
She swallowed hard, biting back the grief she felt for the alphess. She knew now that no promise, nor December, would bring Rain back to them. Raku was right....she really was gone.
Calming herself, she cleared her throat and began to speak. "Wolves of White Mist, a great tragedy has occurred here. Rain, our dearest leader.....is gone. The trail we left is going to be covered, and nothing, not December nor anything else will bring it back. Rain is gone, and we must move on as she would have wanted us to." Mist said, her voice hoarse. She'd kept her cool, but it was apparent this saddened her deeply.

Akane's ears flattened against his head. "Oi, ya hear that Aimi. The leader is gone and we never got to meet her. May she rest in peace." He lowered his head for a moment and looked back up.
Aimi nodded and didn't say a word. She sat down and let her tail move slowly back and forth on the ground.

Azari didn't leave Tundra and Desel, not that he was sure he could. He turned his head to look at Mist through his good eye, studying the fae. He trusted her, she would be a good leader. Ari trusted her and even if the rest of the pack didn't, he would follow her through the mountains. Azari smiled encouragingly at Mist. It'll all be fine Ari thought calmly. We'll make it, one way or another.

Mist swallowed hard, speaking again, "And this brings about another duty. No wolf has seen Pure since before the battle with Blood Mist....which means we can assume she met the same, unfortunate end as Rain. The pack needs a strong beta and proxy if we are to continue through these montains. The new beta of this pack is Azari." She announced, gaining confidence. She had a strong pack;; they would make it across the mountains. And with Azari as her beta, and the proxy she was about to announce....she was sure the pack would thrive.
"The new proxy is Dusk."

Azari's mis-matched eyes widened in suprise at Mist's announcement. He met her gaze with his good eye. A head wound from the BloodMist battle had totally taken his eyesight in his right eye which had once been blurry after fighting Bloodfang. Now he slowly rose to his paws and dipped his head to Mist, padded forward nad meeting her eyes. "You'll do fine Mist, I can tell." Ari had seen many harsh things in his life, his father's first actions being trying to kill him. Leading a pack, as he knew, took strength and good sense. Mist had both.
