Azari moved to his packmate's side, ushering him to the side of the path. "Lay here for a moment, let me see what we're facing here." Azari stepped back and his good sapphire eye swept over Raku. The wounds were deep and indeed reopened. Azari looked up. The pack hadn't stopped but that was alright. Ari knew he could find them again even if they did get left behind. The beta had to take care of his packmates and that definately included Raku. Sniffing about once more, Ari found a cleft in the rock and dug in it. He was rewarded with a few slightly shrivled leaves. The dark brute smiled and nipped them from their stalks and padded back to Raku. "You're lucky I grew up in mountains, herbs here are easy enough."
Ari put the leaves in front of Raku. "It's a blood thickener. It'll help your blood clot." Once more Ari looked around. A tumble of boulders lay nearby and through the snow, Azari could pick up a familiar scent. Leaping down off the path toward the boulders, Ari sniffed around, scraping at the stone now and then. Finally he found it. Moss, half dead from the cold but still useful. Padding back to Raku, Ari began layering it on the wounds. They weren't as good as cobwebs but it would do.

Raku laughed dryly. Then quickly ate the herbs which Azari had so kindly provided."I'm lucky to have packmates. At least I have packmates."His voice was tired and cracked.Eyes filled with longing followed Silenthowl's form sadly. She was his love, his passion, his being, his life. The only wolf he could ever truelly love.Yet he could never have her.Althoug their paths would cross and had crossed several times. They would never be intertwined.SHe had one destiny and he had a much different one.One that would bring to him his own demise in the future.Though he may not know it yet.

Azari finished covering the wounds and sat back on his hunches. "There. Now you just need to rest. I'll keep my...eye open I suppose. We can catch up to the others when you're able to walk." Ari knew Tundra would worry but he didn't want to leave Raku behind. Besides, the packs were moving at a fairly slow pace because of incoming snows. They wouldn't get too far ahead. Worst came to worst, Azari and Raku would get caught in the beginnings of a storm. Nothing a pair of brutes couldn't handle.

Raku glanced up at him."Don't worry about me Azari. The pack needs you..."But the brute was asleep by the time the last words were out of his maw.Breathing continued. But it was a little while before the pace became regular.
The fragile form of the fae lay hunched in the snow.Deep , fresh wounds along her sides and shoulders.Ash had got her way with this fae.Ghost.A White Mist wolf.Left behind by her pacl several days before. The femme had been catching up.For a moment she had thought she glimpsed their pelts. But then Ash had come and gone. Now the fae just lay there.Waiting.For something.Someone.Anything.Anyone.

Ari padded a little ways from Raku and sat back on his hunches, letting out a low howl. He was warning Mist, telling her he was going back to round up the forgotten for he had caught the faint scent of yet another forgotten soul left by WhiteMist. His warning finished, Ari rose to his paws and padded past Raku, checking to make sure the other brute was still alright. Continuing back, the scent grew watery and thin through the snow but just enough to follow. Finally Azari saw something laying in the path and picked up his pace. "Hey!" Ari barked. "Are you alright?"

Ghost flicked a snowy aud.The fae blended in perfectly with the snoy earth. The femme rasped out a few words."Pack.Gone.Rouge.Attack.Blood.Cold."She had to take deep breaths between each.Ghost had been lying there for hours.Hidden by the terrain from most predators.Too tired and frozen to bother movement.Blood had begun to paint the snow.Which made her easier to see.

Azari's eyes widened. The dark black-grey brujo bounded forward. Ari laid down near the fae, curling close to her to help warm her. Sleeping during snowstorms was bad. It could kill you. Arctic wolves had a special instinct that kept them alive, letting the snow build up around them in a sort of natural dome that locked in their body heat and kept them alive. Injured wolves however, could easily freeze to death because their bodies were focused on stopping the bleeding and less blood meant less heat. Ari brushed snow from the fae's pelt. "You're of WhiteMist right Ghost?" Azari remembered the name from far back in his memory though he couldn't pinpoint where he'd heard it. "Try to stay awake ok?" Ari looked over her wounds. They were closing, slowly but that was better then nothing.

Ghost tried to flicker an aud to him.but she was so cold."Yes.White.Mist.Awake.Yes."She rasped.Breathing between every syylable this time. How long had it been since she had eaten?Three days? How long since she had slept?Four?"Azari."She murmered. That was who it was.It was Azari. She knew this wolf. Her body shivered as the icyness gripped her.

Thinking quickly, Ari rose to his paws and stepped over Ghost so he was standing over her, the white fae laying between his front paws. Carefully, so he wouldn't put too much of his weight on her if any, Azari lowered himself to the ground, using his fur as a sort of extra layer for Ghost to insulate her natural body heat. The fae was in bad shape, looking starved and tired. She was struggling. How had she been left behind? How many others had been left behind? Azari was beginning to wonder if it would be impossible to get both Raku and Ghost back to WhiteMist and SilverMist or if they would all freeze out here on this miserable mountain. Azari sure hoped he would be able to save them both. Raku would be alright. Ghost was what was making Ari worry. "That's right" Azari barked when she spoke his name. Azari groomed her paws and limbs, to get the blood flowing in her legs again, licking her head and neck too in hopes of helping to rouse the femme.

Ghost felt the extra weight. It was a rather...awkward sight and position they were in.But Azaris warmth seemed to help. His tounge rasping so soothingly over her form.It was like a pup being groomed by it's mother.Or a lover grooming his mate. But though it was neither of those things. It was soothing. Her paws tingled as the began to slowly awake from sleep.

Azari was glad to see he was making some progress with Ghost. He knew if Tundra saw him she'd either laugh or rip his throat open and leave him to bleed. The punishment seemed harsh for the crime but she had come close to doing it before, simply because Ari had stood between her and Kill. Right now however, the only witness was the howling wind and blowing snow. Both of which, Ari was sure would keep the secret. Ari continued grooming Ghost's fur. He'd done this on the nights during their travel, to keep Nova warm, curling around her and grooming her paws constantly. He would wake himself in the night to make sure her paws wouldn't freeze or she wouldn't get cold or sick. Without Tundra, Ari had had to act the mother and father to his daughter.

Ghost's eyes were closed. The snow was so white it hurt to look at it now.It gave her a headache. She could feel the wind picking up.The snow whipping by her and in her face.Making her cold.but Azari was still there. And his warmth somehow kept her from freezing.Though the storm began to come and it began to come quickly. His tounge was still rasping over her fur.The soothing feeling. He was all she knew right now.The only live thing.Breathing was still raspy though.

Azari braced himself against the storm, closing his eyes against the glare of the flying snow and continuing to blindly groom Ghost's fur. Ice froze onto his dark pelt but it didn't take long for them to be buried in the freezing white. So this was how it was in the arctic. When Ari next opened his eyes he found a layer of ice covering them like a dome. Despite the cold of the ice, he actually felt warm, their body heat trapped within the shell. It was thin but just enough to keep them alive and warm.

Arroyo's eyes shifted towards Azari, Raku, and Tundra. Trying to straighten himself, he limped up to Azari. He had been behind everyone, being the last to leave the battle. "You... you look like you three may need help?" The SilverMist Beta's ears tingled as a thread of blood dripped down the side of his face from his torn ear. Suddenly, he had the urge to vomit again... Swallowing forcefully, he looked from Ari to Raku to Tundra and back again. In truth, Arroyo looked like a mess as well... but he was too determined to rest or allow himself to treatment until everyone else was alright. I'll just slow the packs if I ask for medication...

Raku was sleeping. In the middle of a blizzard in the snow. The brute was asleep.
Ghost shivered. Finally she opened her eyes. There was ice around them."How can it be.So warm.In ice."SHe murmered.Breathing still rasped. But her body was slowly coming to life.Paws were tingling.Pelt was tingling.Of course. The femme was still half dead. But perhaps Azari would be enough to keep her alive.
