"The heat from our bodies is trapped by the ice" Ari explained. The shell of ice hid them from view and they were far behind the other packs though Ari was sure they would stop. He just hoped someone would keep track of Desel and Nova, keep them warm. Azari moved carefully, angling his weight off of Ghost so that she barely felt that he was there but he was careful not to break the shell of ice that kept them warm. "This is how Arctic wolves survive, or at least that's what Gemini told me."

Ghost flicked an aud.Her paws tingled. And she carefully stretched her legs.Careufl not to break the ice.But she winced in pain and let herself fall to the ground again. Her muscles were stiff and still not fully working.

"Relax, just move carefully" Ari barked calmly. "Don't push yourself too hard or you'll hurt your legs and never catch up." Azari put his paw on her shoulder and pushed forward, then to one side and then another, loosening the muscles under her thick winter white coat. It would help a little.

Ghost only breathed out an in.Not resisting Azari's touch.Or his technique.SHe was simply. To tired. To famished. To exhausted to bother resisting.
Raku continued to sleep.

Azari paused and pricked his ears. The howling winds were dying down. It seemed he'd dozed off during the worst of the storm. "I'm going to break the ice, I need to find something to get food in your stomach before we start moving." Azari waited for Ghost to show she was ready for the cold. The pre-storm deepfreeze had worn off by now but it would still be cold.

Arroyo took another shaky pace towards the injured wolves. "Do any of you need medication? Or help?" he woofed hoarsely, looking from Ghost to Raku and to Ari. He gritted his teeth to control his trembling limbs.

Raku's wounds were not closed or healed. But Azari had done a good job treating them.
"Wake.Raku.Up."Ghost murmered."He.Will.Die.If he.Sleeps."The femme braced her body for the impact of the icy cold.

Azari pushed up, breaking the fine shell of ice. Ari leapt up as limber as a young pup and bounded over to Raku. "Raku!" Azari barked, nudging the other brute's head. "Wake up Raku." Ari nudged the brute again. He looked over at Arroyo. "You look just as bad as these two, stay where you are, or find a healer if you can."

Raku's form was half asleep. But the loud howling of Azari snapped his eyes open.Stiffly he rose to his paws.Glancing up at Azari."Again I sawy it's a good thing I have pack mates."He smiled dryly.
Ghost rolled her shoulders. Then stretched her muscles. They seemeda bit better. But she was not so sure standing was a good idea.

Azari chuckled dryly and looked over at Ghost, then back at Raku. "Feel a little better?" he asked. "We need to catch up to the pack and Ghost will need help. She nearly froze and I think she's starved a little too long." Azari breathed in and his heart sank. The pack scents had been blanketed by a fresh, crisp and very bright layer of snow.

Raku nodded."I'll be fine."He padded over to his best friend."I doubled back fro you the other day.But there was no sign."He murmered.
Ghost stiffly began to rise.
Raku was ready. If she needed help he would be there.

"I think I can find the pack's path, but we should get going soon" Azari barked, tail waving slightly as he thought carefully. "The pack will be resting after that storm. That means they can't be too far ahead of us. If we're lucky we can find them before nightfall."

Raku nodded. Then let Ghost put her weight on his not so bad shoulder.'should'nt be too hard. That many wolves together."Raku murmured.
Ghost only nodded.

Walking a little ahead of them to clear a path through the snow that went almost up to his belly now, Azari pushed through the snowfall. The fresh snow was soft under a thin layer of ice. Once his weight was on it, it easily broke and he would sink to the more compressed and frozen layers. It would be slow work but they were wolves, they could make it.

"I'm fine," Arroyo responded. He watched Ari inspect the others, however, without saying another word. When they spoke of catching up to the packs, he glanced over his shoulder and towards the sky. "Maybe... if we travel fast enough..." He almost staggered again, feeling feverish. Dear Lupus... what's happening to me? He felt almost as bad as when he had seen the vision of the two wolves killing each other. The image burned in the back of his mind even as he closed his eyes to stop the spinning. "...it'll be hard, but we can always find a den if we need to," he finished.
