At the bottom of the mountains

The wolf over heard the mother saying that they need to find a place to spend the night. "If you knowest. Over the river where you pup was playing at, there's an empty cave, you could stay there for the night." Chain told them and continued walking.

Xander and Zara looked over at the other side of the lake. "I don't see it sir." Zara said craning her neck to try and see it. Xander ran over and tugged Chain's tail "Mister, can you take us to the cave?" He sat looking up at him, wagging his tail.

[nighty!]

Chain stopped and turn around for the other direction. "Sure thing." He started to walk through the clear water.

Zara cocked her head in question. "We're going to swim across?" She asked. She wanted to go all the way around so she could spend more time with him. She and Xander really liked him alot. But Zara really, really, liked him.

[nighty!]

"That's right, don't worry it wont be far,"The wolf told the mother. Once at the point of the river was deep, Chain had to start swimming through the river. Thank the wolf godesses that the river was calm and not really fast that they couldn't go to the otherside of the river. It wasn't far but it was about an eighth of a mile or less so it would take about a minute to get there.

"Um, alright" Zara said. Zara picked up Xander and put him on her back. She put a toe in the water and looked behind her. "Xander, what ever you do, don't let go of my back. Do you understand me?" Xander nodded as she immersed her silver body in to the cool, slowly running water, her paws touching the smooth water rocks as she balanced Xander on her back.

About two minutes later Chain finally got a grip on one of the rocks and then kept on going to the shore line of the river. "Are you still there?!" He barked at them hoping that they don't fall because of Zara has to balence Xander and kept on swimming.

[glow=red,2,300]Zara's head reemerged from under water, gasping slightly. "I'm still here." she said, getting out of the water. Xander fell off of her back and stood up shaking.
"Are you alright baby?" Zara cooed to Xander. Xander nodded. Both of them looked up at Chain. "Lead the way" Zara said to him.[/glow]

[nighty!]

"Good my pleasure," Chain nodded and started walking straight. After a couple of steps he shaked his body releasing the water off his fur and then kept on walking. "The cave should be another mile from the banks of the river so it wouldn't be that far is that O.K. for you?" If not there was another cave somewhere.

[zara]

"Sure, thats fine for me" Zara said and she looked down to Xander. "But I don't think that Xander came make it up by him self." Xander was all droopy and looked close to falling asleep. "I guess I'll carry him up" Zara said picking him up and putting him on her back.

[nighty!]

That was good thinking. The thought was in Chain's mind at the moment when the she-wolf said that. The pup was getting tired anyways so that wasn't him problem or even a problem at all to him. Only a mile isn't really that bad. It would just take about five minutes of talking and walking at the sametime and that's really not that bad.

Zara picked up Xander and placed him on her back. He immediately fell asleep. "That does look like good idea." Zara laughed looking at Xander snoozing on her back. "Well then," Zara said looking at Chain, "Lead the way."

[nighty!]

"Well I thought that I was leading the way," Chain woofed back at her. He continued walking for about three mintues now still couln't see the cave yet. All that the wolf knows that it was there because he did see it before Chain saw Zara and Xander. That was all he could remember.

"Well thats good" Zara said adjusting Xander on her back.
