Mist prowled through the brush, making sure to stay low. She had rolled in garlic on the way here to mask her scent. It also dimmed the slight sparkle of her pelt, but she still made sure to stay hidden. She looked back to see if Azari was following.

Azari followed easily, his paws brushing lightly against the ground as he trotted along at a brisk yet silent pace. His sapphire pools, one clear, one cloudy, focused on the forest surrounding them. His fur prickled with unease. This land seemed to radiate a fine hinting of blood-scent. It made his fur rise and his muscles tense. This land was a cursed land, unwelcoming to wolves with decent hearts. Not but a year ago Ari would had easily said this was where he belonged, a mindless killer that knew nothing but killing and the fastest way to bring death.

Assyria, completely unaware of their prescence, was tracking a rather large rabbit. She carefully stalked after it untill she was a mere inch away. She killed the rabbit with a swift bite and turned back to return from where she came.
Mist flicked her tail to Azari and followed Assyria's scent deeper into the cursed woods. She took careful steps, but with the racket Assyria was making as she strutted proudly with her kill, she probably could've snapped a few twigs and still gone undetected. There was a clearing up ahead, and all around it was a thick, white haze.

Ari's lip curled with disgust as he listened to the BloodMist fae strutting about with her kill. Foolish fae. In Azari's years as leader of one of the most deadly gangs of wolves since age one, he'd known that silent paws keep you alive, boastful natures make you dead. It was a basic rule, common sense to most wolves. Make less noise, live longer. Ari couldn't help but wonder how stupid this fae was? Did she want to get her neck snapped? Azari wasn't sure why but he knew he'd be plenty happy to do it.

Mist paused as the fae entered the main camp. It was an eerily familiar place; this terra belonged to Grey Mist long ago. She bent down and peered through the undergrowth, observing cautiously.
Assyria dropped her catch in the prey pile, then padded up to a familiar looking fae. "Look what I caught, mommy!" she yipped to her mother. "Babylonia, you have such lovely pups!" Said a third, unknown voice.
Mist's jaw dropped and she turned to Azari. "Babylonia is a GREY MIST fae, or at least she was! Her pack thinks she went missing, but she's really hiding out here! That younger one must be part of her second litter...but what I don't understand is why HER? She was the sweetest wolf in the forest...." Mist whispered furiously to Azari.

Ari remained silent, flicking Mist's side with his banner comfortingly. He never met the femme but apparently she'd been well loved by her pack. Azari frowned. What in GoldenMist's name was going on here? Azari shifted his weight a bit. A branch of half-dead leaves brushed against his dark grey coat and rattled dryly. Ari froze.

Assyria took no notice, but Babylonia whipped around and glared at the branch.
"What is it, momma?"
"Shh! I think we have some pack wolves spying on us! That just won't do...." Babylonia padded towards them, her muscular form looming over their hiding place.
Mist glanced at Azari and murmered one word, "Run."

Grabbing Mist's scruff, Ari jerked Mist back and turned to flee. He kept his pace slow enough to make sure Mist was with him. He wasn't about to let her fall behind and get killed by BloodMist.

Mist kept pace with Azari; years of training had paid off, and she seemed a mere blur in the mist.
Babylonia snarled in fury and took up a howl. "INTRUDERS IN VERLUST'S REALM!"

Azari sped up, thanking Golden Mist for his light-weight build rather then being bulky like most brutes. Ari looked like black-grey blur as he ran beside Mist at full pelt. Branches whipped his sides and face because one eye was blurry, keeping him from seeing fully. Ari growled a soft curse as he jerked his head aside to avoid being bashed in the head by a large low hanging branch.

Babylonia attempted to pelt after them, but, because she was caryying her third litter, refrained from the chase. "They won't live long, anyway..." She muttered.
Mist let out a sigh of relief as they reached the Mirror Lake. "Wow....WOW!" Her eyes were still wide with shock. "Do you know what this means? A GREY MIST FAE finished off Heather. I'd bet my life that that fae was Babylonia."

Ari stopped running, panting heavily. His shock and hintings of fear could be seen clearly, even in his clouded eye. Azari shook his head in awe and sat down next to Mist. "We should report this to Rain or Pure" Ari panted.

Mist nodded, but shuffled her paws uncomfortably. "That was close...they'll probably be planning to attack us soon....this isn't good...Rain will just want to...fight..." Mist panted doubtfully.

"Well then what should we do?" Ari demanded, still panting a bit. "We can't just let this go. Something has to be done." Azari was pacing now, looking at the ground, tail twitching slightly. If fighting was what BloodMist wanted, Ari would make sure WhiteMist gave them one. No way was he going to let his pack lay down and take a beating from some bloodlust-driven pack of rabid dogs.

Mist sighed. "I don't know yet...but I do know we should get to the meeting." She looked out at the wolves gathering around the lake. Rain wasn't there yet.
