The night was thick, the air dense and choking with the scent of blood. And dripping with it came a brute, a titanic and muscular source of rampaging power. The heart of his sister, Lucille, clutched tightly in his cursed jaws. He'd torn this one for her. It was time she'd come to his side...time she'd finally realize how lucky she was he'd fallen in love with her. She was young, but so was the world. He would outlive it all. "Bring her!" He hissed into the dark. Up the slope came a bedraggled, emaciated male, bones nearly bursting through his skin. In his mouth was the scruff of a small, slimmed femme. She was black as night, her bloodshot, swollen eyes burning with a cold, furious fire. "It is time, love!" He growled delightedly, eyes flashing with madness. "Never, Paris! NEVER!" She wailed, squirming and thrasing. Sonofocat held tight, and the prisoner was unable to escape her captors. " Temper, Olive!" ----- Annanti's paws flew over the ground with amazing speed, green, fiery eyes narrowed to slits. Trees and thorns tore at her in an attempt to restrain her, but she only pumped her legs harder, faster. He was here...she could taste it. And he was not alone. Regardless, she would kill her brother tonight, and avenge her broken, departed family. Maybe then, just maybe, she could put her mind at ease.... ----- The former proxy had felt restless that night. He'd gotten used to the seniors den, but tonight...something was astir. It was Iver's job, Lineria's job, to watch over the pack now...but something about the cold, heartless winter breeze had shaken him. Only hours before he'd seen birds flying back from their Summer home. He'd relished the sunlight... But it had been snapped away suddenly, a whip that stung and scarred Mother Earth. But now, as he passed his border and headed towards the Twilight clearing, the stirring grew to an explosive size, his very insides threatened to leap out of him. ....his daughter was near. His lost daughter...Clove. She was beside him now, transparent in the moonlight but still there nonetheless. Father...she needs you. Clove whispered, then was gone. Olive's out there.(Okay...PLEASE DON'T HAVE YOUR WOLF BE ALL HERO-LIKE AND SAVE THE DAY! In fact, don't even come into the clearing quite yet )

(MY GOD YOU'RE GONNA KILL THE CUPCAKE!! *sobs*) (Who should I bring? Holly? That would be dramatic XP I think I will...)
Holly padded through the forest. She stumbled over fallen trees and tripped once or twice. Her nose was bleeding heavily from the falls. She was deep into sickness, her pelt bare in places. She shivered from the cold. Her eyes were glazed with tiredness, but she had forced herself to come. Something drew her to where she was going... But where was it, exactly?
Seems like doomsday's come early this year...

(Who knows, Mud? I'm going to kill more than one, maybe three at most... But this represents three sub-plots at their heads: Annanti wants revenge, Paris is infatuated with Olive and wants to take over the world, and Sharpie wants his daughter back ) " Temper? Who are you to talk about temper!?" Olive snarled. "Need I remind you that you could die at any moment if I wish it?" Paris whispered, voice silkily soft. "Then kill me! Please, spare me the agony of having to live with your stench for another moment! KILL ME, PARIS!" Olive shrieked, sharp fangs plunging into Sonofocat's legs. The deranged, sickness-wrecked killer immediately let go, rolling with the pain. ----- The ferns parted, and she slunk forward, eyes fixed on the scene before her. A neophyte. He'd kidnapped a wolf probably four, five moons younger than himself. Annanti didn't want to know what he'd done to her, if anything yet, but she didn't want anything to happen from that moment forward. There was a brain-dead, rabid brute, rolling with the fake bliss of insanity. One less to deal with....Paris was advancing towards the young fae now, harsh, sharp-edged words rolling from his devil's tongue. How she loathed the sound of his voice... Steady, Annanti. Remember what you've learned. Remember Lucille...Signus...Liviana. And Diablo. With that last thought, she stopped wiping the tears from her eyes, and let out a sorrowful call to arms. Tears stream down your face... When you lose something you cannot replace...----- "You ungrateful little---" The call sounded behind him, shattering his scene of coronation. He turned, a snarl rumbling in his chest. Annanti....MUST DIE!The two clashed in midair, like the angel of light descending to fight back the devil himself. Adrenaline soared through her veins, igniting fires inside. They flailed and tussled in the tall grasses, spurting bright red blood against the green growth. He had her pinned, claws...choking...vision blurring... This was the end.... No, Anna. You can make it out....you will live to tell... Her mother's words echoed around her dulling senses, sending to her a new surge of determination. "So what does it feel to die, sister?" Paris grinned demonically, voice light and conversational. "I....I...." Annanti fell limp in in Paris' grasp, fur matted with her own blood. For treacherous, long moments, she hung there. Paris tilted back his head and let out a victorious howl, bending down to take from Annanti's neck the bite of life. "NOO!!!" Olive screamed. ----- Her scream was enough to send Sharpie sprinting into the clearing, rushing in front of his daughter protectively and letting out a vicious, bloodcurdling roar of rage. "Stay away---NO!" Paris hadn't been thrown off of his goal, his fangs were extended, inches away from Annanti's neck... "I suppose death simply leaves you... speechless..." She propelled herself forward, ramming into Paris's unsuspecting, undefended figure. They rolled towards Olive and Sharpie, locked in a war of water and fire. Annanti's ripped into his sides, claws working feverishly. And then she saw her chance. As Paris swung a blow to her head, she ducked, then lept forward, prepared to meet the bitter taste of his blood at his jugular. Everything seemed to move in slowed time;; Paris saw her coming, but an instant too late, she realized she'd miscalculated. She hadn't ducked in time, and his claws came whistling at her with sudden, frightful speed. She flew backward, thudding to the ground. Her chest still held a faint rise and fall. Paris turned, eyes locking on Sharpie, a venemous gaze. "You'll have to forgive me for keeping you waiting, Sharpie...but I'd be honored to kill you now!" "RUN OLIVE!" Sharpie met Paris at the center of the clearing, the two weaving and tearing at each other with even more hatred than felt for Verlust. And the very earth rejected it to it's core;; the emotions in this clearing were simply too much to bear. The closer they were towards the eternal tree, the more damage their wounds inflicted upon each other. The Earth needed an end before all gave way completely... Annanti stirred, eyes meeting Olive's. "Run, young wolf. Find...help..."

(Holly's Song - Nobody's Home I'm seriously crying right now...) She's falling from grace... She's all over the place...Holly's footsteps came quicker, although the bloodloss was making her dizzy. The forest whirled around her, but she fought it. It's too late. You'll never make it.You're going to die.Be strong, be strong, now. Too many, too many problems.

(Mud...do you have Coldplay's "Fix You"?? That explains the entire situation...Paris' view, Olive's view, Annanti's view, Sharpie's view...all in that song of utter sadness =p Probably Holly's feelings, too.)
Even without looking, Annanti could feel it, hear the death screamed into the night air. Wolves would die here. She would be among them... But she had promised her mother. Promised her mother that she would avenge her. Promised her siblings she would fight this cruel world for them. Because that's the way we live;; this world has no heart. A lie has been made up that there is more good than evil, and that the true will vanquish the tyrant. And though I'm no saint, next to Paris any wolf would be pure. And so if I can do my part to change the way this place is run...to turn the tables, I will. It might be too late to save the yonder...but I will save his daughter....
Annanti struggled to her paws, taking Olive by the scruff and stubling into the brush. Twilight...hear my prayer for Sharpie of the Yozorans. Our father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name....
Olive ran as fast as her legs would carry her, ripping through the grass towards the Yozoran border. "HELLLP!!!"
...thy kingdom come, thy will be done....
Sharpie's agony roared in her ears, but she forced herself to turn and look as Paris' claws ripped the life from her saviour.
....on earth as it is in heaven...
Sharpie fell, blood spurting like a fountain from the holes in his chest. He stumbled back, gasping for air, but receiving none. Clinging to life, but being thrown away. He fell at Paris' paws, unable to clinch, unable. He looked up into the eyes of his killer for the last time, but did not glare into him hate. Instead, he smiled. Sharpie smiled at the reason for his death, a large grin cracking the blood that was caked on his maw. His grin turned to Annanti, completely sane...at peace with Mother Nature.
...give us this day our daily bread.....
His eyes shut, and he laid down in the hideous pools of scarlet around him, the ghost of a smile still lingering on his lips. Paris backed away...shocked.
....and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, deliver us from evil, but lead us not into temptation....
"I would love nothing more than to kill you, brother. Mistake it not for the craft of your own tyranny;; I am nothing of your making. You have threatened my life, and I'd be nothing more or less than a fool if I did not take yours now. For the blood you've spilt, for the hearts you've swallowed, for the lovers you've killed, Lord...have mercy on your blackened soul!"
....For thine is the power, the kingdom, and the glory...
Paris turned, eyes flickering wtih momentary uncertainty, then circling her slowly. "No....I will continue as planned. And you, sister, will be the first to die of stupidity. Olive will be second. No --- I will burn her life, and all who reside in it. THEN I will burn her, too..."
...forever and ever...
Annanti pinned him easily, and she could feel his shaking bones under her clutches. Her heart swelled with a new emotion: pity. She truly pitied what had become of her brother. "You could've been so much more than this...." and her fanges tasted the death of Paris, the devil, her kin, her own blood and flesh.
amen.

(*composes self* I'm seriously bawling right now... ) Holly burst into the clearing. She couldn't speak. She couldn't move. She didn't feel anger. She didn't feel sadness. She was numb. Dead. She fell to the ground at Sharpie's limp body. "I love you, Sharpie." Lights will guide you home... I will try to fix you...

Annanti looked down at Paris' body with tear-pooled eyes. Gently, she closed his eyes, then frowned upon him. "Peace, brother, but you will not be buried. You will be tied to this earth for as long as wolvenly possible. You will feel the pain of the smallest pups to the frailest elder. Then you may be homebound to Hellfire." Her voice cracked, and her paws let loose from under her. "Mama...oh...Mama...I tried! I just didn't...get here soon enough....Oh please....forgive me!" She wept at Holly's feet, eyes bloodshot from sorrow and lack of sleep. "It's never going to be good enough...there's always somebody I can't get there in time for!" She howled, nearing hysterics. "No...wasn't there in time for Signus, was I? Or Lucille...or my own MOTHER! And my brother dead at my paws...and I'm no better than him...."

Holly closed her eyes. She tried to find the scent of her lover. Her mate. Her best friend. Her life.
All she found was death.
Death and blood.
The tears started. Silent tears. Tears filled with sorrow of the emotions not discussed. The pain of feelings not confessed.

Annanti turned and screamed to the heavens. "Diablo....I...I need to leave now...." The world spun before her, trees becoming a blur and shapes becoming formless blobs of black and white. "I'm ready to leave the world....I'm ready. So why not take me instead, eh? No, nothing's EVER good enough for you! I did what you wanted me too, Mom. So just let me find you again! Why did you....why did you leave?" She fainted, spalshing down next to Holly, misery shaking her to the core.
"Holly....please...there are words that need to be passed...." Liviana's clear, starry form was next to Holly, a warmth radiating from her and reaching out to Holly's chilled spirit. "Please..." Her voice shook, beautiful eyes desperate.

Holly looked up. Her face was bloody from where it lay on Sharpie's wounded chest. "W-what words?" Greif of a lover showed clearly in her eyes.

"Holly...this will make none of it easier, but you need to know why things occurred like this... Paris left us moons ago. We hadn't any idea where he'd gone...he was four moons then. Three moons later he returned and slaughtered Signus and Lucille...my other children. Annanti and I fled, but he pursued us. Before coming to murder us, he'd befriended your young pup in hopes of manipulating her into joining his attempt to restart a Blood Mist - like pack. Olive didn't buy into it...so he kidnapped her. He even managed to convince himself he was in love with her. Well...you can tell he succeeded in killing me, but Annanti lived. She met with Diablo, her grandfather...and they managed to learn something...I think. And so Annanti tracked Paris...who had Olive, who was being tracked by Sharpie..." "My point in all of this is that it was out of control. There is no one to fault besides perhaps Paris, but that is done now. Holly...love is eternal. Some of us are not lucky enough to ever have it, and this place is full of lies. Lies that say love ends at death. NO. Hear me, Holly, he is with you always...and you'll never be without him. Maybe in body, but never completely. Your daughter lives, Holly. Olive...she's over there, in the bushes...hiding. There's no mountain too great to keep you from your faith...he lives in you...." And with that, Liv dispersed.

Holly blinked several times. She couldn't move. Paralyzed again.
She stayed there, head on Sharpie's chest, until the help Olive had sent for found her, at sunrise...

Crow and Saskia thundered through the grasses, following by scent. Olive had fallen behind, limping.
Crow was immediately silenced, dizzy at the smell and sight of blood. The thick, sticky crimson hung heavy in the clearing. He hacked and coughed, retching up even more blood. Oh...Lord....
Saskia let out and audible gasp, pressing against Crow for comfort.

Harley stiffled a gasp at Holly's thoughts. Pheonix twined his tail with hers. Harley went to wake Holly, soaked with blood.
"Holly..." Harley asked carefully.
Holly blinked her eyes opened. "Did S-sharpie make it?"
Harley blinked away tears. "No, Holly."
Holly wailed and fled through the brambles of the forest surrounding the clearing while the other fae watched her with troubled eyes. "Don't do anything stupid, Holly."

Annanti still laid in the blood, barely breathing. Olive limped into the clearing, brusied and battered. "Where's Mom? I...I need her right now..." Olive choked out, tears pouring from her eyes. "Harley...he hurt me..." She showed the warrior her flank, skinned and bloody.
