Liv licked a paw lightly, eyes always fixed on the figures in front of her. They'd grown quickly, poking their noses here and there, sniffing everything that could be sniffed. A mixture of pride, happiness, and exhaustion flowed through her, but she still kept her eyes open and ears pricked. If she closed them...she knew they'd get up to something.
Paris was the worst. He'd attempted to track Liv on one of her hunting expeditions, and was suprisingly successful. He'd caught a thorn in his paw on this little escapade, and had made quite a fuss about it.
Lucille was probably the opposite. She was shy and quiet, but a true sweetheart. She would be the first to speak out about her brother's escapades, but was always badgered by him afterwards. Liv had to keep them seperated, mostly.
Signus was an interesting one. While he liked adventure and went off with Paris at times, he also knew when enough was enough. Deep and thoughtful, he got along well with all of his littermates.
Annanti.... Annanti was the feminine image of Diablo. It irked Liv, but she knew it shouldn't. If anything, it would bring her closer to Annanti...
but it didn't Annanti was mischevious, but shadowed. She was kind to her siblings...but Liv couldn't shake it. Her father had abandoned she and her sister, Fade....
was he even out there, still? did he even care?

A figure limped through the forest, breathing heavily as he did so. His eyes were bloodshot, and his ear was torn. Above all, a mask of blood coated his muzzle. It was Diablo... but the only recognizable feature about him was his signature eyes... which were now firmly closed as he went on his way. I didn't kill him yet.... he thought to himself. I injured that bastard, but he got away... The figure continued to limp.

The young femme was out by the rise. Mother had let them roam as far as here, and Annanti enjoyed this freedom. Out here, she could see the whole of the loner terras, as well a bits of the packlands. A strange scent tickled her nostrils. She turned to see an old, bloody wolf limping towards her. She did not scream...she knew she should...Liv had warned her numerous times about strane wolves.
Only this strange wolf...seemed almost familiar.

Diablo stopped, sensing an additional presence... He stared-- eyes gold, scarred, and hazed-- into that of a pup's. In an old, coarse voice, the brute asked, "Who are you?"
(run, Annanti, run-- he's a child molester! XD)

Her own, honey-colored eyes regarded his golden ones, nose twitching with curiosity. "Annanti...if you're going to eat me, Liv's right in that cave over there. She said she'd rip any wolf limb to limb if they looked at us funny..." Annanti smiled a bit. "Momma's grumpy sometimes, but she means well. Who are you?"

"Well, you better get to your-- wait..." Diablo's form went rigid. He fixed Annanti with an intense stare. "...what did you say your mother's name was?"

"Liv...I can't pronounce her full name. Something like Livy-awhna!" Annanti yipped. She nodded to the den. "She'll probably want to meet you, Mister."

Diablo closed his eyes and shook his head furiously. "No... no, she won't want to speak with me." She's had pups... she's really grown... I wonder where Fate is... But I guess I'll never be able to ask... she probably won't want to speak to a wolf who abandoned his daughters... "Could you just do me a favor, though, young one?"

"Sure, Mister!" Annati pipped.
"Paris, get back here!" Liv growled sharply. The slim, red-colored pup bounded out into the snow, spotting Annanti and Diablo. "MOMMA!" he howled with alarm.
Liv was out in a blink, her furious, then dumbfounded gaze fixed unceasingly on Diablo.
"You...you...." she started, tears in her eyes. "YOU LEFT! YOU LEFT YOUR DAUGHTERS WHEN THEY NEEDED YOU THE MOST! WHEN I NEEDED YOU THE MOST! YOU JUST LEFT!" Liv snarled, eyes hard. "Do you even c-care? Did you ever? Was all of it just a lie? All that SHIT about how Three Days Grace owns all!" Liv was going into hysterics now.

Diablo didn't look up, not even to glance at Liv. But he knew she had come... he knew she had spoken.... but he would tell Annanti what he wanted to tell her.
The wolf kneeled beside his granddaughter and whispered into Annanti's ear, so quietly that no one but this pup could here. "Tell your mom that she reminds me so much of her mother."
He straightened his posture, and then began to limp away, back the way he had come. He paused to cough up a spurt of blood, and then continued on his way as if nothing had happened.

Liv darted, standing in front her father with searching eyes. "No. You can't just leave again!" She growled. "WHY?! WHY EVEN HAVE KIDS IF YOU DIDN'T LOVE US?! OR WAS MOM JUST A GOOD FUCK!" She howled, losing herself.
Lucinda's prescence brushed lightly against Diablo, calming scent swirling in the air. "Don't....please,....don't do this, Diablo..." she whispered in his ear.

Diablo's hackles spiked at those words. Snarling viciously, he lashed out, scoring Liv across the muzzle in his anger. "DON'T YOU EVER SAY THAT!" he howled, eyes snapping open. "I LOVED LUCINDA MORE THAN ANYTHING! I LOVED YOUR SISTER, AND I LOVED YOU TOO!" Eyes flashing dangerously, he dug his three heels into the ground, leaving his injured leg lying limp to one side. "I TOLD LUCINDA THAT I WOULD PROTECT HER, AND I DIDN'T! IF I WOULD HAVE STAYED, HOW WOULD I'D BEEN ABLE TO PROTECT YOU??"

Lucinda's ghostly form looked away from Diablo. "I can't belive you....your own daughter! What DID we mean exactly?" Lucinda whispered, still not meeting his gaze.
Paris tugged at Annanti, hauling her back into the den.
Liviana stumbled back, blood staining the snow. She didn't say anything for a long time, the growled darkly. "It shouldn't have mattered. When someone you love needs you, you don't run away. And who are you now? You're no father of mine," Liv glared up at him. "I'd die for my children, Diablo. If you want to kill me, you won't touch them. Mirage wouldn't have it, and you'd also have to speak with Ralph of the Siverians. What would Rippedstripe think of you now? What about MOM? What does SHE think now?!" Liv spat fiercely.

Tears stung in his eyes as Diablo gradually came to terms with what he had just done. Slowly, he looked down at his paws, seeing his claws red with blood... his own daughter's blood. "...dammit all..... dammit. Dammit! DAMMIT!" What began as a growl became a scream. "DAMN ALL THAT I'VE DONE, THEN! THROW ME INTO THE HELLFIRE IF IT'S WHAT I DESERVE! I'VE ABANDONED MY CHILD!" He raised his voice, throwing his head back to howl it to the heavens. "YOU HEAR ME, FATHER?? I ABANDONED MY CHILD!!" He fixed his gaze on a random star in the sky, and snarled. "And what did you do? WHAT DID YOU DO?" He looked to another star. "Or you? OR YOU OR YOU OR YOU!! WHAT DID ANY OF YOU FUCKING DO TO DESERVE SALVATION?? SAY YOUR SORRY? THROW YOURSELF OFF A CLIFF? BECAUSE I WILL!!"

Lucinda looked up at him sharply. "No. Don't YOU DARE. We can fix this..." she murmered, alarm coursing through the transparent wolf.
Liv's gaze softened by a fraction, claws flexing slightly. "D-dad..."
