Storm coughed weakly, trying to clear his throat. It burned. Everything was blurry and his mind was working slowly. The sounds. They took too long to reach him. "D...dark" Storm grunted, voice broken with effort, blood trickling from his jaws. "Its...not..dark..." Dark Storm's eyes stared past Ophelia, glazed and half open, staring at something he alone could see.
Zenya padded slowly toward Dark Storm and lowered her head near his. "No. It's not dark. Not anymore" Zenya whispered softly, eyes sad.
Dark Storm coughed several times, struggling to breathe. "I...I can't go there" he whispered. "I'm...not allowed...."
Zenya glanced at Ophelia. She didn't know Dark Storm very well and had no idea what his past sins were. All she knew was that he had probably had one hell of a rough life, just like she had. Didn't he know what forgivness was?

"YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO THERE YET!!! NOT NOW!!!!!!" she squealed. "DON'T GO!!!" she howled in agony. "PLEASE!!" she whimpered loudly.

Zenya laid down in front of Dark Storm, meeting his eyes. "You can go there" Zenya whispered. "It's a place...for the fallen like us. I'm sorry Storm. I didn't think he'd do this to you."
Dark Storm gasped for breath a few times before he could answer. "This...is my penence." Storm turned his head a bit so he could meet Ophelia's gaze. Reaching up, Dark Storm touched her cheek with his nose, barely brushing the fur but leaving a scarlet mark before his strength gave out and he collapsed again. "I will be forgiven....but...not tonight...." His eyes closed but his ragged breathing continued.
Zenya sat up and sighed. "We need cobwebs for him."

Ophelia's eyes still streamed with tears. She didn't look away from him as his eyes closed. She continued to look at him through blurry eyes. She didn't want to look away from him. Not ever.
In a split second the large, pregnant femora burst into a run in search of cobwebs, it wasn't hard to find though it had been raining and some she found were still damp. She raced back and gave Zenya the cobwebs. She walked away several yards and sat with her back facing them. She stared out into the horizon with blurry eyes.

Zenya took the cobwebs and began applying them to Dark Storm's wounded neck, grimacing silently as she examined the wound. It was deep and it seemed his throat was torn. Secretly she knew he wouldn't survive the night but thought better of telling Ophelia that. Stepping back and beginning to apply left over cobwebs to her own throat, Zenya looked over at the younger femme. "You should sleep. You look tired and he's not moving tonight."

"No." she rasped firmly. She sat close to Dark Storm her tail twitching nervously on the earth. Her ears twitched along. Her heart was bubbling nervously and she was panting heavily as her fur seemed hotter than a summer's day. Her fur also seemed to be thousands of quills that pierced through her skin, through her insides.

Sighing in defeat, Zenya laid down at the edge of the clearing, somehow managing to drift off into a light sleep. She didn't dare sleep hard when Moon wasn't around to detect newcommers. Zenya didn't trust anybody else. Blind wolves had the best sense of incoming wolves, humans or prey. She doubted she'd ever really trust another wolf apart from Moon.
Near midnight a soft sigh escaped Dark Storm's maw. His muscles relaxed as one under his dark two-toned pelt. A final trickle of blood escaped his maw but Dark Storm's eyes didn't open and his sides became still. A soft breeze whipped through the clearing, ruffling his bloodied fur but the great brute didn't stir nor wake. He had died in his sleep.

"S-storm?" Ophelia trembled. her legs trembled under the new weight. Her stomache lurched, and her insides bubbled. "S-storm? Wake up!" she rose her voice. "Storm! Don't leave me! her squeal was so light, so high-pitched. It was hard to understand.
Her life. It was not fullfilled. She had not lived out her life purpose. It was over her life was over. Emotionally her life was over. Emotionally was the strongest you could get.
She bowed to Storm. Like she said. If she never saw him happy her life was not fullfilled.
She bent her throat to his claw, and with his claw the sharpest of point she slowly ripped her throat over it. A deep slit ripped threw her throat. With a heavily flowing throat she slowly died, painfully. Her life was over. The last moments of her life were spent understanding she would now meet Storm again. Though blood was draining from her body, she sighed in deep relief. And she was gone. Romeo and Juliet. Her lifeless body crippled onto Storm's chest.

Zenya watched with sad eyes. A soft tired sigh escaped her maw as she pushed herself up. Padding slowly over to the two dead wolves, the tri-colored femme looked down at them with sorrowful eyes. Dead. She knew it even through the smell of blood. Her eyes turned to focus on Ophelia. "He wouldn't have wanted that" Zenya murmured before turning and padding out of the clearing. She wouldn't bury them. Dark Storm would know this treatment as a warrior's burial but burying them would mean seperate graves. This way at least they'd be together for a while longer. (how about a thread for these two in the realm of twilight?)
