The silvery white femme padded down the banks of the lake, paws soaked and muddy from walking so close to the water. She sighed heavily, looking out at it's prefect, mirror surface. It reflected the indigo heavens above, with broken glass strewn across it as jewels. Mist knew that stars were no longer diamonds, for diamonds resisted to break from any force that existed. And the alphess had seen many a broken star in the days she'd roamed the lands....
She cleaned her paws and rested on a large, flat gray rock that jutted out over the water. She dipped a single paw into the silver surface, watching the ripples as they spreaded and dispersed. When the quaking had ceased, she was left to face her own reflection, a task she'd been avoiding at all costs.
She looked better than she'd looked in a while ; perhaps because she felt internally at peace....like a calm in the middle of the storm. The muted rage that was the hurricane's eye. But what had given her this sudden net of security? One moment it wasn't there, she blinked, and then it was. What star still remained whole enough to save themself and try and fix another?

The strong bulk of a snow-white brute appeared across the lake, from Yozoran Territory. Light seemed inlighted, happy almost. Himself a few days before was a mere shadow compared to him at that moment. He was like a star... stepped down from the heavens in broad daylight.
"Mist?" Light called. He hoped and prayed he didn't sound too relieved.

Mist turned her head to rest her mysterious gaze on Light. She was suprised to see him, but a small smile broke out on her maw. "Hello, Light. What brings you out here?" She woofed, hostility the last thing on her mind.

Light smiled, trying to stop his wagging tail. "I... ugh... just thinking... about... stuff..." He blushed furiously, at loss for an explanation. Shifting his weight from paw to paw, he asked. "Why are you here?"

Mist heaved a heavy sigh, "The same reason you are." She thought hard about what she had said at the gathering....where Laika and her brother were now. Turning back to Light, an impulse struck her. "I lied at the gathering," she suddenly blurted, no control over her words. She shook her head to clear it, then looked back down at the water. "Shaft didn't just go mad...he attacked me. I was defenseless. Laika had to kill him....she had to kill her own father for my sake," she spat the bitter words. Her tone grew normal again as she turned back to Light. "Do you have even the slightest idea who this killer is?"

Light shook his head slowly. "I should, but I don't."
The big, ghostly brute made his way quitely around the lake and sat beside Mist. He looked at their reflections in the water and laughed quitely. "We look alike. I've never noticed."

Mist offered him a small smile. "Neither did I," she admitted softly. "But I suppose I should've notived your feminine touches!" She laughed jokingly.

Light laughed. "Oh, but you're pretty manly yourself, Mist!" He was amazed at the sound of his own, cheerful voice. Lately his voice had sounded... blah.

Mist rolled her eyes, then suddenly narrowed then. "Oh, Light. I'm afraid I'll have to attack you now. I was patient at first, but you're an enemy warrior." She snarled darkly. She shoved him into the water, doubling back with laughter. "You didn't think I was actually serious, did you?" she called to his sodden form.

Light laughed, slowly recovering from his shock. Light shook his pelt, sloshing water on Mist. He heaved himself from the water and nipped Mist's ear playfully. What am I DOING!? She's an enemy ALPHESS!!

Mist rolled her eyes and nipped him back, giggling a little. She pushed him back into the water and shook the wet from her own pelt. Woah....where did that come from? EARTH TO MIST, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!

Light giggled stupidly, pulling Mist into the water with him. Idiot, idiot, idiot. He smiled and splashed her.

Mist rolled her eyes once more and splashed back. "Silly! Sheerans love water!" She reminded him. Wow....who would'e known? This is actually fun!

"And Yozorans don't? You must be thinking of those finicky Siverians!" Light exclaimed. (let's make this a bit more entertaining, shall we?  ) Light spotted a leaf on Mist's ear. It was small, but noticable. "Mist... you have a... ugh... I'll get it." He swam closer and nosed the leaf off gently. They were very close. And Muddy can't contain her girly giggles. XP |
