Amoret's little chest steadily rose up and down, the young she-wolf was fast asleep with untortured dreams that darted around the elder wolves' thoughts. Little Illustrian, too, was in a deep slumber. Santi decided it would be wise to join them, since she was still exhausted from the birthing. "Akaira, do you mind taking the first watch? Wake me in an hour and I'll take it, then pass it on to Fawn. Hopefully Darius will be back by then...hopefully we won't have to keep on like this all night..." the red fae woofed, eyes struggling to stay open. She glanced at Akaira, hopeful that the young wolf had more energy than herself. She felt bad for asking her to take watch, but she knew she wouldn't be able to do it, and then they'd be vulnerable and unaware if there were any intruders. She hoped Akaira would understand this. She looked down at her pups, warmth and flickers of concern entering her gaze. I don't sense anything unusual yet...warped traits are not a certain thing within the bloodstream. The first of my bloodline had the gift, as did the first of Darius'. Since them, Darius and I are the first to have it in our families. Though it could be considered a blessing, I suppose, I do not always see it like that. Most talents show up later in life....it's too early to tell quite yet...

There was the slightest nodding of her crown. "Of course, Santi." She glanced towards Fawn then took up her position at the entrance once again.
Fawn yawned and curled up. Quickly falling to sleep.
Riniad began to doze.

A light grey form darted through the wood towards Twilight Lake, spiraling leaves and dust with each stride. Despite her near exhaustion from sprinting all the way from Bitterwind Valley, Misty kept her pace. Darius had sent her here with the message for his family. Though he did not give a direct location of them, the young fae would find the den soon enough. Not many at the lake were used this time of year.
She reached the beach and stopped on the soft sand, panting heavily. Misty looked about, searching for the den. If that murderer were after her, she didn't have much time.

Auds were perked forwards. Nares flared as a scent was taken in. Tassel lashed to and fro uneasily.
RIniad whimpered.

Santi nodded towards the door, not being able to slip away without further upsetting the younglings. "There's another wolf outside...she crossed paths with Darius. By the way she ran here, I'd say it's urgent," she barked, concern growing in her tone. What's gone wrong? Oh, Twilight! I know you hate me, but please, bring him home safe! A million and one things could've gone wrong at this point. What if the killer and her mate had crossed paths? Where was Darius now? She licked Riniad's head, and tucked in the unsettled Amoret and Illustrian. She looked towards the door, heart ready to brust through her chest from the anxiety.

It was then that Misty heard awhimper from the side. A den was reveled to her as she looked harder. When the fae was close enough to the entrance, she asked quietly, still catching her breath, "Is this the family of the wolf Darius?"

Auds had orignally been pinned back against skull. At words from Santi they swiveled, perking towards the entrance. Muzzle was stuck outside and she glanced to and fro. Auds picking up the voice of another fae. "It is." Was the swift reply.
(No muse sorry)

"I was sent here with a warning from Darius," Misty said quickly, panting every now and then. She looked at the pups, so helpless and nearly unmovable. This wouldn't be an easy thing to say. Taking a long breath, the fae said, "When I was told to leave for this place, Darius was being attacked by one whom he was looking for: a murderer, he had said. Since he gave your location to me loud enough for the attacker to hear, Darius wants to warn you of the killer who might be searching for you, and that they'll be coming to Twilight Lake at any time."

Akaira turned towards Santi. Suddenly stiffening, optics glazing over momentarily. "Tell me, Sekhmet, what do you think I am?" The massive flaming ebony streaked brute had made himself comfortable in a sort of den, inside a cave. A femme lay nearby, most likely this 'Sekhmet' wolf. The fae blinked. "It's not Loni.." She glanced towards Fawn, Vee, the pups, Santi.
Fawn looked up from her place in the nest.
Akaira glanced back towards Misty, then Santi. "The pups are to young, aren't they? Can't be moved...." Her crown tilted and she glanced towards the hayloft high above. "Anyway we could get them up there?"

Santi gently slid out from her place surrounding her children. She nodded, eyes flickering with unknown emotions. "If we're extremely gentle, yes...Fawn, could you prepare a bed up there? I'll take Amoret...Akaira, if you could get Illustrian...Misty, would you mind taking Neva? And Vee, could you get Riniad? We'll wait until Fawn says she's ready, then we'll hand them up, one by one, to her, and she can set them in the bed." A million and one thoughts were surging through her mind at the speed of light. If it was not Loni that had attacked her lover, than who? She paused, closing her eyes and reading into the footsteps. All she could feel were rapid beats, paws hitting the dirt, and a forceful pull, warning her she'd gone too far this time. Shaking herself, she opened her eyes once more, not ready, but accepting the current situation.

Vee was staring in complete and utter silence at the wolves around her. "Ummm.... sure," she managed when she was asked to complete her task. All this.... information was quite shocking. "...is it alright if I'm confused?" she asked slowly, looking from one wolf to another. Without waiting for an answer, Vee bowed her head to lick the top of Riniad's head and murmured comforting words to the rest of the pups.
Neva squirmed about in place, but calmed when a warm tongue rasped over her fur.

Santi nodded, offering an emotionless half-smile. "Don't worry. We're nearly crazy...nearly. Not quite. You'll get over it if you stick around," She grunted.

Vee suddenly split her maw in a sideways grin. "I think I'm already okay with it... I was just surprised that there are more insane people like myself!" She shook her pelt briskily... a flash of unreadable emotion in her eyes as she shook off haunting memories. She had definately heard murderer somewhere along the lines of their conversation.... and that brought back a flood of memories that threatened to beat her down.

There was a nod from Akaira. Her soft, pinkish tongue rasped gently over illustrian. To comfort the little pup. Optics danced to Santi, then Fawn.
The fae nodded. Rising, she shook herself, then darted towards the.... ladder... that connected the ground to the loft. Carefully she scrambled upwards, panting slightly at the top, before dissapearing into the little bit of darkness. Her paws shuffled together some straw and hay. Packing it closely, and making the nest large and comfortable.
Akaira glanced up, auds perking at the word "Alrighty" from Fawn. Crown dipped and she carefully took Illustrian in her jaws.
Riniad squirmed around a bit, clearly he was going to have some sort of odd gift when he was older. A flood of un-comprehendable emotions from Santi made him whimper loudly. The soft wetness of a tongue was somewhat calming, though.

Misty nodded, happy to help this family a second time. The little pup called Neva squirmed about. The fae nuzzled her gently, giving some comfort, and scooped the pup up. She remembered her mother doing this with her. Misty waited along with the others as Fawn gave her signal.
