Kiri nodded solemnly when he sat on Lupus's back. He sighed with relief as the burning coals disappeared from his scorched, padless paws. His body trembled under the stress of the moons and moons in Hellfire.
"I love you, Lupus." he repeated as he had oh so many moons ago.
He was now lying down between Lupus's shoulder blades. Too weak to stand again, he spoke, his voice muffled by Lupus's fur.
"Did I ruin your date...?" he paused. "Why would you want a date here?"
(Do you remember when Kiri said 'I love you' and Lupus was all like 'Never say that to me' ? That was a sad day XD)

Yet he had changed since then... he had changed a lot.Instead of replying with the cold statement, he twisted his head around and lightly licked the top of Kiri's head. "Whatever you say, you crazy kid," he woofed. His eyes shone with amusement, however, when he mentioned a 'date'. "Not so much a date as a... family convention." He blinked slowly, then turned toward Rhain again. "I believe I met Kiri before you-- he's a good friend of mine from the ol' days." (Rhain is gonna have some competition for Lupus' affection XD) |

Rhain shrugged, then moved away, form disappearing as she transferred back from whence she came. She wasn't in a very good mood ;; not in the mood to be around children. There was definitly a storm coming, but it had been brewing for a long time...

Kiri smiled, then wondered lightly, Is that the Rhain the demons speak of? The small pup thought gently about the exhilarating ride on the black panther, and how, as the reached the smooth rocks, he had lithely transformed into the graceful eagle, flying to the top. He remembered his only word; "WOW!". He smiled at the great memory, but also remembered the treachorous wolf, in which had scared her so deeply; Rip. I hope he dyed, to burn in Hellfire... alone. he thought stubbornly.
He remembered how he had seemed to turn into mist as he traveled to the Blood Mist camp to visit his dear friend, Argon.
I wonder where he is... he was the one who saved me.. I would have been killed without him..
"Lupus?" he asked in a muffled voice. "Where's Argon?"

Lupus watched Rhain leave, longing to reach out to her... but he reminded himself that Kiri was still on his back. He had to get the pup to safety before he could attend to his wife.
...since when did my priorities become so screwed up?
Wincing himself out of his trance, Lupus' eyes slid up toward Kiri, taking a moment to drink in the question. "Hmmm... I'm not sure. He certainly isn't in Hellfire."
Although I can't be too sure... I didn't even know that Kiri was here!
"Uh, tell you what, Kiri... I need to talk to my wife for a bit... So I'll leave you to talk with Death-- he's my ot-- he's my son." He was about to say other son, but he reminded himself that Kiri was not his kin.
"Death!" he howled. "Could you come over here?"

Death snorted. "Nope! I'm shunning you crazy arses! Better watch yourself, Lupus! Rhain's taking leaves from your book -- and that's not good. You should make sure she doesn't go back there again..." he growled. "Oh, and I really don't like kids. I'll keep the fires cooler around here. Just let him hang out until you finally re-order your thoughts. Then come pick him up. I won't be here." He growled, intensely irritable. "The nerve of you divinities! You're no better than teen love triangles....four angles....whatever this is...."

Lupus grunted in annoyance. "Some help he is..." he muttered under his breath. "And he's one to talk, since he was the one that asked me about Slash and impregnating shadows..."
Shaking his head, he kneeled and glanced up at Kiri. "Would you mind staying here a bit longer? I really, really need to talk to her," his eyes were pleading and desperate, "and I'd come get you as soon as possible."

Kiri turned to Lupus's left side, his legs tensing to leap the long leap. He pushed off and landed heavily on his feet a few inches away. He turned back to Lupus after regaining his position and smiled lightheartedly.
"Hey, I've been in here for awhile; whats a few hours gonna do to me?" he chuckled and pranced around the coals acting as if he was happy, but he was actually keeping the fact that the coals burned hotter now that he had felt what it was like without them. "Run along!" he called.

Lupus sighed in relief. "Thanks... I'll be back as soon as possible!" With a final glare at Death, he faded into nothingness, pursueing his troubled mate.
Why couldn't Kiri had been my son? he thought bitterly. He's certainly more cooperative than Death...

Kiri sat onto the burning coals, soon lying down on them. He felt his underbelly fur burn into nothingness. His ears flicked casually as his fath-- Lupus went through an emotional lump in marriage.

A few hours later, Death faded back in. "HURRY UP YOU NO-GOOD SON OF A CAT!" He snarled, in a particularly bad mood. he loathed Kiri enough, but he was sick of Lupus' anger. He took it out on his wife, but this mutt over there would never see a scratch! He'd throw that at his father, but knew it would make no difference. Not like anything he said was listened to. He glared at Kiri heartlessly, gaze was acidic. Now was not the time for Kiri to attempt to 'make friends' with his 'big brother' ;; it would only earn him another few hours under here that Death would be all too glad to arrange.

Kiri flicked his tail dismissively, gazing at Death evenly. "M'kay," he replied, simply trotting forward. He understood the hate that pulsed raggedly from Death's pelt, but he was used to it; he had once lived in Hellfire, where hate never dyed.
He slowed to a walk and stalked past Death.
"The quality of mercy is not strain'd,
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath. It is twice blest:
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes." he murmured softly.

"Oh, stop acting like a stupid little perfectionist! Let's go!" Death snapped, grabbing a rough hold on Kiri's tail, then fading. By doing this, he'd teleported them both back to the Realm of Eternal Twilight.

Kiri chuckled gently as he faded, and paid no attention to the hatrid that seemed to pour from the wolf's fangs as he gripped his tail. Technically, he was older than Death; but techinically he wasn't... confusing, eh?
