The violet femme passed through the fronds of green swiftly and silently, taking care to be unseen. This was perhaps the safest time for them to meet;; there was already enough buzz from the meeting to remove the focus from her temporary absence. However, if Sabela calle a meeting, she'd be cooked without a plausible excuse. Despite all of the dangers that could come with meeting Iver, Nightshade had thrills streaming down her spine like a rushing river. She knew they had something...she just wasn't sure exactly what that something was.

Much later the brute made his way through the grass. Light had left the Moonless Meeting in fury. Though Iver had waited by the Twilight Stone for several moments, lingering behind his pack, Light had reappeared just when he was about to come and look for her. The beta had had to lope half way back to the camp with Light, and then make up an excuse that he was going hunting, the pack was scarce on food lately.
"Nightshade." The name of the divine fae rolled off his tongue with a ring that made it feel right to be standing near her. His chest heaved, and he panted from the exertion of having to double back here, tassel held half mast as his greenish colored optics gazed upon her in all her splendor.

When the male appeared through the tall, damp grasses, Nightshade felt her words drop dead on her tongue. Her heart rate quickened, beating nearly out of her chest. She stood stock still, eyes wrapped on his figure and never leaving. These were not acts of fear;; she was simply mesmerized he was still there, in front of her, saying her name.
As he spoke her calling, she found she had regained movement in her limbs. She shuffled her paws slightly, just to be sure. Her eyes flooded with emotions...affection? Desire? Frustration? Hopelessness? Perhaps all....
"Iver..." was all she could manage to utter, still shocked he had turned up at all. Swallowing hard, Nightshade knew they had to face this. Whatever there was between them....they would have to make decisions now before they moved any further. Before they were too close...before it was too late to turn back. "We...we need to discuss things..." again, not the most intricate vocabulary came to her, but she knew Iver would understand.

Eventually the brute ceacesed his panting and regained a normal breathing pattern. The adrenaline of the run was thick in his blood, and the... emotion... he felt at the moment brought it to a whole new level. But the beta was used to keeping emotions in check, and he was strong enough to keep himself from going completely mad. Though the perfume that was her scent was enough to litterly throw him off the precipice and into the abyss of insanity.Never the less, he forced his limbs to bring him forward at a slow and casual pace. Optics never leaving her divine figure, he was afraid if they did that she would dissapear. Like mist. And he'd realize that this was all a wonderful dream that would haunt him forever. And he'd realize that she didn't feel anything towards him.....
The sound of her voice brought him to the realization that these moments with her were reality. The clearness in which he say and heard and smelled. She was really there. A sorrow, barely a hint, flashed in his optics at her choice of words. She's going to say that we can't. We can't go on with what we have. Wait. Go on with what? What do we have? Is it real? Please. Let it be real. "I know." Was all that he managed to say.

Nightshade looked at her paws, heart thumping loudly in her head. Her thoughts were an irreversable mess of entangled emotions, emotions that should've never crossed in the first place. She knew what these strands of feeling were, every single one, and she knew them well. She knew there was no pretending they didn't exist because the fact that her paws were placed in this very dirt this night, and the fact that Iver was only inches away, his scent almost encompassing her wholy, so tantalizing...irrevocably undeniable! But Nightshade was beta. Hard times were hitting the packlands at alarming speed. Already leaders were bickering and cutting each other off at Moonless Meetings;; already secret threats were being made;; already they had staked out allies and enemies;; already the battlefield was set. Now all they had to wait for was who would make the first strike, who would draw the blood to revive a legendary war from its comatose? The pack would need her more than ever. I have three options: -Turn away right now and never speak with this wolf again. Impossible. -Leave the Siverians and either run away as a loner, or join the Yozorans. Inconceivable. -Continue to aid my pack and continue to see Iver. Keeping my two lives carefully seperate, yet intertwined. Nothing but a death wish... She swallowed hard, knowing full well what she'd just invoked;; it reminded her of Silentnight, and her warning of what happens when two become one. But Nightshade knew she had to at least try. She had to try for the sake of her being;; she could not go on without Iver or her own birth pack. Her mind was made up. Leaning forward, her pelt brushed his ever so lightly, she closed her eyes and rested her head on his shoulder. "No one can ever know, Iver. No one can ever have the slightest clue."

What are my options here? I can't leave the pack. I can't leave Nightshade. I can't chose one over the other. I need them both to go on. So what do I do now? Whatever she decides.. Clearly... Whatever Nightshade wants.... The brute's breath literally caught in his throat as her pelt brushed his. Her head on his shoulder was enough to speed up the thump of his heart. Crown was draped over her neck and he held her a little more tightly then he'd meant to. "I can keep a secret." His tassel, extremely long, moved to brush against the side of her muzzle lightly.

Nightshade stood still, heart fluttering as they touched. Could they really keep on like this without any finding out? Nightshade felt anxiety wash over her. I'd lose my place as beta at least...I might even be viewed as an omega. But still, the feel of Iver close to her was enough to make her try. If she fell from her position, she would still see Iver and she would still aid the pack until they banished her or she went to join Twilight. "And what if there are suspecting wolves?" she asked softly, worry still flitting through her mind. What would they do, really, if a wolf was on to their secret?

The brute nuzzled her shoulder lightly. "I'll deal with it." He paused for a moment. "If we're suspected, I want you to remember something. Everything I say from that point on, I want you to forget it as quickly as you can. Everything I say while we're not alone like this." He murmured the words softly. Tassel brushing her face lightly once again. It'll be difficult, but if worse comes to worse... As long as she knows I don't mean it... Yeah, it'll be fine.. It will...

"Okay....and I would expect you to know the same of me," she woofed softly, banishing the rest of her fears. They had limited time together, and she refused to waste a moment of it on her negative thoughts. Nothing good would come from them now. She had already decided and even if she hadn't, she would've already known;; this was what was supposed to be, what was meant to be. There were no other paths for her. And Iver had promised the same. The sky was alive with color and dazzling light;; stars flickered the sky and peered through the aurora's multi-hued streaks. The backdrop of this masterpiece was an impossibly ebony, a pitch-dark canvas for the beauty that was painted across it. She looked at Iver and smiled suddenly, a pure, true, genuine smile. She leaned in close to him, then licked his nose and nipped his ear playfull, darting away with adrenaline speed. "Catch me!" She laughed, eyes sparkling.

There was the slightest nodding of his crown in understanding. He suddenly started singing a song in his head, to banish the negative thoughts. And by the way And by the way What made you think you have it your way And by the way And by the way The words came from some place he couldn't remember. The beta almost started with Nightshade nipped his ear playfully. Heart racing as she licked his nose. The brute sort of grinned at her words. Swiftly dancing after her as she moved. "You can't around me beautiful!" He made a sound like laughing. It was a deep, low sort of sound. The glimmering stars above proved that no one had anything against this reunion. At least, no one who could see them at the moment.

Nightshade laughed again, a joyous melody lighting through the air. She turned and ran back to him, licking his nose once more and brushing against him affectionately. She sighed again, glancing up at the stars. They shimmered pricelessly. Don't feel guilty anymore, Nightshade. Came Heather's voice. Just be happy. She assured. Nightshade's heart clenched at the second voice. It's about time you've stopped moping, love. Oak? Be happy, Nightshade. I'll still be with you.
She smiled, knowing that that was what she'd have to accept for now. When she died, things might be different...there would be a conflict then, perhaps, but for now, it was only she and Iver. Like it was supposed to be.

The brute laughed delightedly as she returned to him. Long pinkish tongue rasping over her muzzle. Tassel brushing her nose playfully. I wish I knew you accept this love.. I wish I knew wether this was okay with you. But, wether it is or it isn't, I'm entitled to happiness. Am I not? His optics glittered with the joy of the moment. They wouldn't get much time together, and they'd have to be careful about it. Possibly only seeing each other like this once or twice a moon. But they were both beta's, and Iver knew if it came to deciding between Nighshade and the pack he wouldn't go for the latter. He wouldn't lose her over that.

Nightshade was bliss;; no thoughts of choosing in her mind now. She had the approval of Oak and Heather, secrecy protecting them, and most of all, the love that bound them together. There was nothing that could hold them back in her mind. All was at peace. To Nightshade. She grinned mischeviously and tackled him down, giggling all the while. Love makes wolves high. So true...

The brute laughed as he was tackled. Falling to the earth on his back. "I surrender! You've beaten me!" He licked her muzzle repeatedly, optics glowing with joy and delight. Tassel wagging quite a bit. Now I know.. I love you.

Nightshad laughed again, laying down to lean agaisnt his chest. She sighed heavily, content. "You give up too easily!" She closed her eyes, a smile lingering on her maw. Is it possible to stay like this forever? Pure serene, serenity.
