I Guess This Is How I Start (Open)

A small grey wolf trotted into the camp, looking cautiously around. Is there anyone here? Suddenly, she remembered she still had blood on her muzzle, and frantically went to rub it on the grass nearby.

Coming back quickly to the spot where she had just stood before, she scratched the yellow streak on her leg, waiting for something to happen. Someone... Anything?

Freya emerged from the resting dens, stretching sleep from her limbs. She'd been on the early patrol, so she'd allowed herself to go to sleep for a while. Now, it was time she'd gotten back to being productive. She spotted a young wolf nearby, then padded over. She didn't look familar, nor did she carry pack scent. She also looked a bit confused. The scent of blood was carried by the young wolf. Freya regarded her carefully, deciding the wolf must've been hunting in the terra.
She probably didn't even know it was Siverian land...well, might as well ask...
"Hello...I'm Freya. Can I ask your name?"

[Njack]

"M-my name?" She started, a bit nervously. "Nectar. A-and yours?"

I don't dare hope this is good luck... But maybe they'll accept me or something...

"Um, I know this is a bit sudden, since I don't even know your name or anything, but..." She blurted out the rest of the words. "CanIjoinyourpack?" That sounded really awkward, didn't it?

Nectar quickly added, "I mean, I'm not very good with anything, so if you don't want to accept me, I understand..."

Freya smiled warmly at Nectar. "I'm Freya," she woofed. "And I wouldn't worry about that; you're a bit young to be an expert. I'll talk to Nightshade, our beta...hold on...." She glanced around for the deep blue wolf. She had an eerie, almost violet appearence because of her red patches mingles with silvery-blue. She looked around for the she-wolf. She was impossible to miss.
Nightshade was just entering the camp and spottedd Freya with a wolf she didn't recognize. She padded over to them and glanced at Freya.
"This is Nectar," Freya explained. "She wants to be a Siverian."

[Njack]

"But I-" Nectar was about to protest when Freya started looking for someone. The sentence trailed off, unheard.

Well, maybe she's right. Maybe I can't be an expert yet... Somehow, I have a feeling that I'm worse than most wolves at this point in my life, though...

When she spotted the beta wolf, she forgot everything she was thinking about. What do I say? What do I say?

After Freya's comment to Nightshade, Nectar added, "Uh, hello. Glad to meet you." She then lapsed into an awkward silence, unsure if she should have spoken, and unsure if she had spoken enough.

Nightshade smiled kindly, nodding slightly. "I've no qualms, and I'm sure Sabela won't either. I'll talk to her about it later, but could you show Nectar around...er...you can mentor her, if Nectar is sure she wants to join?" She glanced at the young wolf.

Freya was surpised, but delighted; she'd finally have her first neophyte! That is, if Nectar was sure about joining. The young wolf seemed so nervous, but really Nectar was a lot like any young wolf in the Siverians. All were nervous and escited, but they would all learn to master their skills eventually. It took time and patience on both the teacher's and the student's parts.

[Njack]

"I'm sure I want to join," Nectar quickly said, a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth, though she didn't realize it. I can't believe it! I'm part of a pack now! I actually got accepted to something!

Then she realized what that meant. Or, rather, didn't realize what that meant. What does that mean?...What do I do now? Her nervousness returned.

"Um...What do you mean by mentoring? What am I supposed to become?"

Nightshade bit her tongue. She'd expected the young wolf to at least know that part, but she calmed and look calmly at Nectar. "When a wolf comes of age, about six moons, like you, they train to become a warrior. Warriors fight for our pack, defend our pack, hunt for the pack, and train younger wolves. It is an honorable job. Freya has been a full warrior for about four moons now, and is ready to take on a neophyte, or young wolf to train." Nightshade explained.

[Njack]

Hunt for the pack? She well remembered when Uncle had tried to teach her to hunt. Well, I'll have to do it. Somehow.

"Thank you for the information," Nectar said to Nightshade, then turned to Freya. "And I'm...um...honored to be taught by you." She grinned. "If I'm not more trouble than it's worth."

Her thoughts were still in a turmoil. I don't know. Is this what I want to do with my life? Just fight and hunt and...whatever else warriors do?... Do I have a choice?... I mean, is this what all wolves do? Nectar could still hear Uncle's voice ringing in her head.

"You're a wolf! This is what you do! You might as well enjoy it."

She shoved her thoughts away. Someday I'm going have to face this all, but not today. Today, I learn and grow.

Nightshade smiled and nodded. "Freya will start with you now, then." The beta went to find the alphess and bring her the news.

Freya smiled kindly at Nectar. "Oh..er...thanks. And I know it doesn't sound like much, but it really is once you start learning," she promised. "Are you tired or do you want to start right away?"

[*chuckle* No, no, Njak, I wasn't being serious [= ]

[Njack]

(Oh good. o.o)

A smile tugged at the side of Nectar's mouth. "If you don't mind, actually, I'd like to start right away." There's probably so much I haven't learned. Everyone must be way ahead of me... The smile faded. Oh well.

Despite her worries, excitement rushed through her veins. "So, what are we going to learn?" In fact, she almost had to keep from jumping up and down, just like she had done when she was younger.
