Rhain padded along the slopes of Skadi, staring out at nothing in particular. She felt as if this heavy, thick weight was upon her shoulders. She couldn't shake it; this feeling of apocalypse. "You can't keep on like this, Rhain. You'll simply go crazy pretty soon..." she sighed.
And every battle had been fought, And everything I think was thought, Down and down we descended, Every day keeps getting shorter, As my sleeves keep getting longer...
Woah...this will all end in tragedy....
Don't waste your time on me, you're already the voice inside my head....
Are you a killer? I think I know what you are...
Does your God, know my God? This is how the world will---
---All end in tragedy....
Oh, God, can you save me now? Sinking my heart turns to stone....
WOAHHH THIS WILL ALL END IN TRAGEDY[/i][/color] "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!" Rhain screamed to the grey skies above her. A million and one voices, shouting, harmonizing, crying, screaming, bleeding, weeping. Defining the tragedy that we fear most. The echos continued, racking her brain and filling the quiet realm with imaginary noise. It ripped through her, filling her with bloody, tattered images no wolf should have to see. "WILL I COME UP FOR AIR? COME UP FOR AIR, AFTER A WHILE, THE CURRENT IS CALLING ME, LOLLING ME, WAVING GOODBYE, I'M OUT HERE ALONE, OH GOD CAN YOU SAVE ME NOW??!!" She screamed, her call causing flocks of birds to ascend from their perches. "Sinking...sinking...." She let herself collapse, as she'd been forbidding herself to do for days. She weeped, both blood, tears, and rain mingling in her fur and staining the stones underneath her.

A shadowy black form slid along the slopes of the mountains, ears erect. It flinched, hearing the agonizing screams. It froze his blood to hear the familiar voice echoing among the hills. He lunged foward in a dead sprint, skidding to a halt besides the scarlet form of his beloved Rhain. He kneeled beside her and, very tenderly, licked her ears.

"Make them stop....." she groaned. What was it with these words? They all seemed to have a rythm about them....as if they were songs 0_o
She buried her face in Lupus' fur. "I really, really would like to sleep, I think." She rambled, apparently very confused. She closed her eyes against his side and shivered.
_One Hour Later_
"Uh....I think I need to start taking prozac or something...." Rhain grunted as she awoke. "Wait...Lupus?" She inquired, not recalling anything previous to this.
(Yeah I know it was a crappy response XP )

(lol, it's alright ) Lupus blinked, worried. He licked her face as she slept... When she finally roused, he looked down at her, clearly confused. "Rhain... is something wrong?" After speaking, he closed his eyes. Yeah, 'is something wrong?' What kind of question is that!? She just fainted!! Yeah, way to go genius...

"Er...well I don't think so..." She said, staring at him blankly. "Everything alright with you?" What is with these wolves and amnesia? And SELECTIVE amnesia at that! They're just crazy. Or maybe it's Siv =p

(lol, I keep making my wolves have amnesia as well! XP)
The color drained from his face. She didn't remember? "You fainted," he managed to say.

"Heh?" Rhain grunted. "Well....Lupus, don't freak out, but I have something really important...and urgent....to tell you...." She winced, looking up at him. "Tonight, when it is supposed to be nighttime, the sun will rise. The SUN Lupus. We haven't seen it in ages, but now it comes at night. And this coming night will be the crimson night...."

The fur on the back of his neck bristled, the whithers standing on end. "The sun?" Lupus growled. "The crimson night..." He closed his eyes. "Of all the days... I figured it'd be on the 21st..."

"What? Why twenty-one? It's such a silly number....and it doesn't fit into the stars, Lupus! You know it will come down to your son and daughter..." She reminded him, still completely puzzled.

Lupus laughed, though his voice was rimmed with an ironic cold. "21st is more than just a number... it's my birthday, you know." He shook his pelt briskly. "Well... my 'birthday'."

"Oh...eh...Happy Birthday?" She barked, in a question tone. She tilted her head at him, green eyes so innoccently unaware.

Lupus laughed again, this time more freely. More genuine. "Yes, yes... 'happy birthday', then?" He sighed tilting his head to look at the sky and sighed. "What a coincidence that everything will change on that day as well..."

(ha alright I'm going to attempt to break my record here...)
"I don't believe in coincidence!" Rhain snorted. "Everything happens the way it does for a reason. If it didn't, then where would the world be?" She shook her head. "If nothing happened for a reason, if everything was just for kicks and grins, then nothing would be as it is now. There would be no reason or order to anything we do. It would all be utterly meaningless." She sighed.
"And yes, terrible things do happen," she continued with her rant. "Terrible things happen everyday that we'll never be able to stop. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger. And yes, that is perhaps the cruelest thing in exsistence; life itself." She stood up, pacing now. Her green eyes were thoughtful; as if she was measuring her words carefully.
"And becasue this is so, these terrible things must come. They must hurt us dearly, they have to rip out our hearts. If they didn't we'd take everything we have for granted. If we didn't know what pain was we wouldn't value things like love and safety. If we never learn what hate is we don't value our allies. If we never knew what it is like to be forgotten and cast aside, we'd never value being what we are,"
"Of course, one can be told to value these things. A wolf can be told that love is good, and hate is bad, same as a wolf could be told that winter is cold and summer is warm. That would be no way of living, if someone else did everything for you. You could learn the cold of winter and the heat of summer much better if you felt it for yourself."
"We all have our time of dying, we all have our point of no return. Siveria has already passed her point of no return, Lupus. So have many others. So have Verlust, and the other fourteen. So have the rescuers who sacrificed their very beings just so this terrible thing could come. No....to send us a message, Lupus!" She sat now, eyes clear and sharp. It was obvious her momentary amnesia had faded.
"No wolf should cry for them, though the whole of the mountains will. They are great teachers; wolves who were born to give us knowledge no other wolf could. No one will understand this now...I don't even understand it completely! Lupus, there is a chance the twenty-first is not a day of tragedy. There is a chance that the twenty-first is the birthdate of a new world."
She stood up, pacing once more. She couldn't resist it;; these new revelations could change everything. What if there was a way to save the fourteen, even Verlust? Nothing could save them from death;; that was imminent. But what if Verlust...what if, in the glory of this great lesson they would learn, what if she was forgiven? No...the devil can never be holy...
"I can't pretend these lives don't sicken me. I can't pretend I don't things were different. I wish to the shards of the mirror stone that there was some other way for wolves to learn of pain and sacrifice. I wish they didn't have to die. And I wish we could reverse time. I might be a goddess, but there's only so much I can do."
"All we are is slaves of the daylight, then...all we are is what the fates make us..." She frowned deeply. Right back to where we started from. If all of this was true, then what was the point? What's the point of going on when everything is predefined and prewritten and predestined? There's no point at all...
No. There a three fates in everything. There are three in this, too. If Siv or any of the sixteen ran from it, then we'd all be toast. If we fight and lose, WE'RE toast. If we fight and win, then THEY'RE toast. There's still that little, minimal chance that we make it out of here alive...
"We're all damned, aren't we?"

(Wow. Long. ) Lupus paused, the smile disappearing from his muzzle. "You know... I was joking." Jk XD ___________________ IC: Lupus hung on each word she spoke with interest. Sounds like the basic summary of everyone's lives he thought bitterly. He paused, and his eyes brightened again... with rather dark humor. "Yes... we're all damned. If we weren't, then life and death wouldn't be nearly as much fun to screw with." He opened his paw, looking down to examine the midnight-black claws that glinted in the light. "Everything has significance... even the goddamn humans have their roles in life. As it turns out..." He paused, a strange feeling running up and down his spine. At first, the feeling discomforted him... but, after a few moments, he learned to relish it. "...humans have given me more happiness than I could ever wish for."

Rhain narrowed her eyes. "But how can that be so?" She protested. His words made her rather uneasy. More secrets that he'd yet to tell? Oh, joy! She kept her gaze locked on his, measuring his movements with unconcealed curiosity. Humans? What?!
