Lupus turned away. "BloodMist left the old packlands for the sole reason of human interference, not thirst for blood. If not for humans, I would have remained there... a lonely god with only revenge on my mind. Only revenge in my soul. Only the blood of my past to keep me company. But the humans--or fate, maybe... or even both-- forced me here. Here to reunite with my friends. To make connections with those who I have ceased communicating with." The black wolf took a long, deep breath. "Humans forced me to love again... and I thank them for that." His hand, not under his control, had begun to tremble. He took his other paw and held the other down, gritting his fangs. If only I could learn to forgive again.

"Humans..." Rhain grunted. "Do you think they'll cause the packs problems?" She inquired, curious about these humans. It had never been questioned why the packs had left the original valley...it had simply been a fact of history;; no real story behind it. Sure, the leaders died out, but that was it. She'd never really considered this part of their legends before.

"The humans have interfered before, haven't they?" Lupus grunted. "Whose to say that they won't do it again?" Paw still shaking, he forced it to remain still. Slowly, he closed his eyes. "Though you can be sure that the humans aren't the only threat to the packs in the valley..." There was a bit of an ominous hint to his voice, though he hadn't meant to say it so darkly. But it is true... it is true.

Suddenly, Rhain stood up, stiff as a board. A howl, cold and ice-ridden schoed faintly around them. This howl could belong to no other wolf than Siveria.... "No...it's too soon....it's not the..." She paused, hesitating. The fur on her neck prickled with anxiety and fear. She felt waves of nausea wash over her, and she swayed on her paws. "L-Lupus....what is the date?" She whispered. She struggled to control the bile rising in her throat. "It's the twenty-first, isn't it?"
