A Matter of Fire and Ice {Rhain/Lupus}

Silentfire whimpered and shrank back. Amaya frowned. "Not exactly. He's Silentnight's....great-grandchild. His siblings are Mystic and Blue Moon....the weird thing is you look almost exactly like Mystic..." Amaya tapped the pool to show a young, pitch black neophyte. Her ice-like eyes fixed on something far in the distance.

"Hello, friends." Destry came forth from the shadows.

[.Rabid Lycan.]

Mystic's blue eyes gleamed. "You're right.... only thing is that that Mystic is much more beautiful than I am!" She chuckled to herself. "...What do Kar and Annelise look like?"

Cinnabar watched the eyes come foward, and his throat tightened. "Destry..."

Lupus closed his eyes. "Dear Golden Wolf... can we please have an understanding this time?"

"Cinnabar! When was the last time we spoke? Or wasn't I too busy ripping you to bits to chat?" Destry laughed humorlessly.

Silentnight gaped at them.

Amaya tapped the pool again to reveal two young, eager black and silver pups.

Mystic smiled at them. "They're very beautiful..."

Cinnabar scowled. "I don't want to fight anymore, Destry," he growled.

A wolf appeared next to Rhain. They both had identical green eyes. The other wold was a dusky grey one, with flecks of black and blue. "Lupus...this is my sister, Valencia." Rhain muttered, not wanting to interrupt the "action".

"Hm? Alright then. I would really appreciate it if you backed away from my mate, then."

[.Rabid Lycan.]

Cinnabar walked to stand in fron of Siveria. "...but I will if I have to."

Lupus lowered his head to Valencia in greeting, then returned his gaze to the fight.

Valencia spoke to Rhain in rapid French. It was easy to see where Liv's French streaks came from.

Destry grinned, and Siv finally came to her sensed. "Not again...no...stop it, both of you! This is ridiculus...." But like the others, all she could do was watch.

"I killed you once, Cinnamon Stick! I'd gladly do it again!"

Cinnabar narrowed his eyes and gritted his fangs. "Don't call me that." He had been teased enough... by his mentor, mostly. Abused by his mentor, too. The name brought back many memories he just wanted to forget.

"Oh ho ho! Looks like I hit a soft spot!" Destry sneered.
"Destry..." Siv growled.
"Just wondering, were you able to remain friends with Romeo's dear Juliet, or did you try to fuck with her, too?!" Destry snapped, referring to himself as Romeo, Siv asJuliet, and Cinnabar as possibly...Paris?

Cinnabar's ears went back, and fury rushed into his eyes. But he remained still. All this was reminding him of Magnus... his jeers and taunts. But what he remembered most was the fangs at his leg, pulling. Pulling hard.
He winced, and growled at Destry. "Shut up!" he snarled.

Siv had had enough. She stepped in between the two of them.
"Don't make me do this, love!" Destry pleaded with her to move.
"What would May and Theo think of you now, Destry?"
"Don't bring mum and dad into this! Sivvy, I'll be with you in a moment, darling!" He caressed her cheek lightly, then brushed past her. He gave Cinnabar a heft kick in the gut.

Rhain winced. "You know...all this time we thought Silentnight was a tryrant...we were really really wrong." She told both Lupus and Valenica.

Valencia shrugged. "I knew zee 'hole story...szo it 'twas no trouble."

[.Rabid Lycan.]

Lupus nodded slowly, and began to lower his head. "Poor girl," he murmured.

Cinnabar felt the wind get knocked out of him, and he fell over. Picking himself up, he dug his paws into the earth. Much as he was hating Destry right now, for killing him and mocking him... for trying to take the only wolf he cared about away... he wouldn't fight back. Destry had meant something to Silentnight.... and for this reason he wouldn't hurt him.
"I won't fight you," he growled. "And I won't step down."

Destry narrowed his eyes. "Siv..."
"Leave! Both of you!" She snapped, not looking at either of them. "Destry, you shouldn't hurt him. You've done enough damage." He tone was like Winter frost.
Destry frowned deeply, realizing the extent of what he'd done. "Sorry..." he muttered to Cinnabar.
"Cinnabar, you weren't there when I was a pup. It isn't Destry's fault that he reacts this way. Destry, that was a long time ago. You and I both know Cinnabar would never...hurt me like that." She sighed, glancing at Lupus with a look that said "get me out of here!".
"I'm going for a walk. Nobody's coming with me!"

Destry looked at his paws, knowing her words were true. It had been molded into him ever since Siv was a pup ... he just couldn't stand it if she was ever hurt like that again....

He turned to Cinnabar. "I really am sorry, mate."

[.Rabid Lycan.]

Lupus padded up to Silentnight bowing his head to her. "Would you like to see my Realm? It's... lonely, but solitude always seems like a comfort to me." He glanced back at Destry and Cinnabar. "Maybe it is for you too... I don't know."

Cinnabar lowered his head and closed his eyes. "I-I'm sorry I intruded. You two have history together... I'm just the 'nobody'... the 'cream-filled cinnamon bar'." He winced as he recited his mentor's old taunts. "I should've... I should've just stayed that nobody, I'm sorry." He padded away quickly, heading into the woods. I wonder where you are now, Magnus... Looking for me so you can rip my tendon out again? He finally found a bush, and crawled under it.

"Well then no wonder she finds you so.....er....delicious?" Destry threw in. He couldn't help but try and lighten the situation;; it's what Shimmering Mist wolves do!

Sky burst out laughing, and Valencia couldn't hold in a giggle.
