The goddess materialized once more in the realm, heaving a heavy sigh and glancing wistfully at the crystal clear living realm below her. Lilly Pad, her secret neophyte, could no longer be. Rhain hadn't taken a neophyte since Feather, and Feather was long gone. She'd neglected to keep her last promise of training Kar to tame the summer before she left. Perhaps Feather still roamed in their realms, but she doubted it. Feather had gone back to the hell that was formerly the Mirror Lake. To find her children...and the other rescuers. Return for the goddess seemed more than unlikely; Rhain was almost sure it was impossible. Turning her thoughts towards a slightly different direction: The war. She knew what side she was on. Her parents' side, or course. But what about Silentnight, the wolf who'd raised her for those few moons? Or Lupus? Lupus. She hadn't seen him for half a moon now...she wasn't sure where they'd end up, but things were seeming grim lately. She'd avoided contact with any wolf at all in that half moon, only speaking breifly to her sister in passing. She'd eaten none of the useless prey supplied here like she usually did out of habit. She hadn't bent to drink from the streams. She hadn't even breathed since the last time she'd seen her lover. Was there a point?

Cold am I I'm beside myself Because there's no one else The dark form of a brujo padded onward, eyes dark sockets on his vaccant face. His scarlet-russet pelt was matted, and specks of dried blood still clung to his coat. But he was too distracted- no, too mortified- to stop and wash himself. What does it matter?Have I grown So blind Only god could save you If you knew your way to the light
Suddenly, his head snapped up. He had been heading on a direct path toward another wolf. You fool- you could've run over her! the brute snarled to himself. He paused, ready to turn around and continue his endless walking in the other direction. ...why didn't I end up in Hellfire?

Rhain caught sight of a blundering male, stained crimson as he floudered about. She studied him silently, stepping back slightly as he toppled towards her. Her whiskers twitched, curious about this male. "And who might you be?" She inquired, calm, not bothered that he'd almost ran her over. Well, I've had worse cases... her thoughts lingered briefly on Thorn, happy thoughts of careless hyper activity. However, this did not reach her very far. She did not even smile at the old memories. Instead, she kept her green gaze fixed unwaveringly on this wolf.

The brute paused, ears twitching lightly at her question. He turned to face her, eyes weary. Then, in a soft voice, he murmured, "I'm not quite sure anymore, actually..." Flexing his muscles, he glanced up at the sky... wondering if his love would be here... if his son would be here... and if he would ever be forgiven. Of course I won't.

( Yay Percy Jackson =p )
Rhain looked him over thoughtfully, eyes searching past the red clinging to his pelt. "Kosav," she decided after a while. "You remind me of someone...." she hesitated, then nodded. "Yes, you're that Bejamin Barker / Sweeney Todd character. Definitly."

((lol XD That's been there for months!))
Wincing at the sound of his own name, the wolf frowned after a moment. "If you're expecting me to say 'No. Not Kosav- that wolf is dead' then you're sadly mistaken." He was in no mood for humor, and he glanced almost longingly at the sky. "...and I didn't kill my wife..." Quietly, he murmured, "...I killed my son..."

"Ah, so you know the story, then?" Rhain sighed. Out of an impulse, she cast the blue skies to gray ones, and let down a steady downpour. In an instant, the beautiful landscape was a grim one. "So there are a few things mixed around....but that's the catch, isn't it? That means you didn't die alone, a murderer. It means your ending is different," Rhain announced, matter-of-factly. "It means there is room for forgiveness here. Find your children, Kosav. And your wife. They need you." She sighed, glancing mournfully at a newly formed puddle. You're still needed. There's still some room left for you...

"How can I face my son?" he croaked, furrowing his brow. "I slaughtered him... I left him to die young, his throat slit! You can't just say 'oops- I'm sorry' and expect it all to be okay!!" Kosav was yelling now, although he began to realize that he was talking more to himself than to the wolf in front of him.

"I know," Rhain murmured. "Lupus killed my parents, Kosav, but I'll still love him through eternity. The bond with a father to his son and a son to his father is stronger than any bond that I will ever have the pleasure of taking part in. Don't doubt these ties. Now go to your family, they are waiting for you," she rose, allowing the droplets to soak her gray pelt. She smiled a bit as the water ran off her. I do like a good thunderstorm... Of course, everyone automatically assumes I'm upset when it happens... But I am, I guess. Ah, whatever... A shaft of sunlight cut through the cloud dover, shedding a rainbow in the mists. With a pup-like leap, she thundered into the puddles like the very noises that rolled through the clouds. In truth, it was really a vast lake now. She splashed around in the deeper waters, glancing back at Kosav. "Depends on what you'd prefer, I suppose. It's as simple as a preference between seeing ones waiting family, or being drenched and going scuba diving. No strings attached. Nothing at all."

Kosav hesitated, unable to make up his mind. Toboe... what will I say to you? He glanced around, still deep in thought... when he noticed something. "...where's Lupus? Shouldn't he be with you?"

Rhain shrugged, not looking at Kosav. "No..." she said after a while. "He's probably busy with other things," she said tartly. Something in her gaze flickered, dark thoughts cursing Verlust, then she returned her gaze to Kosav. "And what are you doing here, shouldn't you be with Rippedstripe?" She grunted, apparently sore from Kosav's remark. Oh, how I would love to rip that damned fae limb from limb...how I wish it would've been her head flying away into the ether... Stupid, respawning dead wolves....

((lmao- "stupid, respawning dead wolves" XDXD))
Kosav frowned at her bitter tone, and would've been angry with her were it not for his senses telling him that something was bothering the goddess. ...I suppose even dead wolves can have love problems... Slowly, Kosav stood with a slow nod. "I... suppose I should go..."

"Yes, you should," Rhain responded curtly, spinning a bit in her rain dance. She did not look at Kosav as she waded deeper into the infant water body. She merely dontinued with her pointless, half-hearted splashing in a methodic way, as if completeing a routine.
