"I know that distance doesn’t matter But you feel so far away And every day I feel the pressure Of impossible society Without you here with me I know that I can’t breathe"
Like a knife it sliced through the impossibly ridiculous silence that was this particularly empty and seemingly abandoned corner of the irritatingly beautiful Twilight Realm. The vocals seemed to echo off of every ethereal tree, lush blade of grass and pointless piece of prey that wandered through the lands.
"I know it doesn’t matter That you’re my everything And even if I can wait forever I know you won’t do the same And I know that distance doesn’t matter And that this feeling will never die"
The canvas that rippled and shimmered with a life like glow was painted a gorgeous snow. Silky and soft as velvet yet thicker then the water of the Twilight Lake. The claws were all normal length, they gleamed and looked like diamonds attached to a wolf's paw in the strange unreal light that filtered through the high above canopy.
"I know I’ve never met you And those conversations hardly count But even without, even without I’m falling back into the circle I’m stumbling, crumbling to my knees And I know it doesn’t matter"
The motion was continued over and over again. The opening and shutting of the alabaster maw. Fangs of pearl glimmering in light as this action was taken. The vocals that streamed into the air from creature's windpipe carried a frenzy of intertwined and mixed up emotions. Love, fear, sorrow, heartbreak, resentment, the want for vengeance, dignity and pride all spilled out for the Realm to hear.
"And it’s like a broken window pane All those pieces on the floor The blood that pours, the blood that pours And I know that you’re the only one I can’t fix this mess myself But it doesn’t matter anymore"
The bodice was carefully created. Tassel of an odd length was lain across the grass, stretching behind the creature like a flag, long and beautiful. Fore and hind legs were all long and muscular, showing that the fae had carried much speed with her through life. Shoulders were muscular, proving that strength had been gifted upon this beauty as well. Crown that was perfectly symmetrical was lain against a large, pale gray hued rock which seemed to be warm for some unknown reason.
"Doesn’t matter anymore Doesn’t matter Doesn’t matter Doesn’t matter anymore"
If only this poor creature, this Destiny, had not met her demise in the way which she had. Perhaps then she would not be as unstable and slightly mad as she was in this particular moment.
((Song: Doesn't Matter Anymore (c) Destiny V. Latoya))

The night will come and rip away, her wings of innocence through every word we say Zolor... are you there? Do you hear me searching? Did you see me raped? Did you see me killed? Are you disgraced by me? I just want to know...maybe it's time, to spit out the core of our rotting union hopefully before it chokes us to our senses.
And a black figure fell, as if stumbling in the dark without a light... in pain, forcing herself not to allow tears to spill from her sapphire orbs. Please... I just need to know.... if you are hiding from me... I need to know where you are...Guess it's too bad, that everything we have is taken away.
And someone else then caught her eye, forcing her attention somewhere else, her orbs now wandering, observant, and lingering. Is that you--? She quickly told herself not to even consider such foolish things. It was not him- she knew without even getting a good look at the figure. But, at the same time... so familiar. The wolf with the nightly black pelage approached the other wolf, tail low... no longer commanding authority in the lands of the dead.

"Oh, look how far you've fallen Destiny. Nothing more then a heap of useless fur in a deserted corner of the Realm. As foolish as a pup and as naive as one too. Your friendless, loveless, lifeless and sanity-less. Oh, but most importantly, your Destiny-less. What happened to her? What happened to the great alphess who lead her pack into battle and played with pups in the Nursery? Who slaughtered and birthed and tried to avoid favoritism? Where is she now?" Talking to herself. The snowy painted damsel was talking to herself. This was, above anything else, a horrible sign. Sanity had clearly, for the time being anyway, drifted off to Golden Wolf knows where.
The break in speech allowed her senses a few moments to work properly. Though nothing was caught by her auds, and the left eye was still blind and could not catch the movement, the scent was made out. It seemed familiar, somehow. Fae tried to place it, but was unable. It's not him... or the bastard... or an enemy... Very tip of tassel twitched slightly, she was in thought.

Night padded onwards, taking in scattered whispers of breath as she realized that this wolf- one that she had once known as a strong being that would do anything to help her pack and family- had driven herself nearly mad. Maybe she was mad. Ignoring the automatic instinct to flee from the insane wolf's path- to avoid peering into the fae's eyes and approaching danger- the black femme found her pace slowling to a halt in front of the other. "Destiny..." The former Yozoran alphess could not find any further words to say, although she could feel herself desperately searching for the reassuring words she wished to say... the words that were now buried deep within her beyond reach, leaving only a burning itch in her throat. She swallowed, knowing that she did not fear this wolf- how could she fear anything after what had been done to her?- but feared what had driven her to madness. Her rape and unjust murder had compelled her to hide in the shadows of shame for all of eternity, but Night had been lucky enough to evade insanity's grasp for the time being. What could drive a wolf over the edge... that is worse than what I myself have endured?

A twisted, agonized, yet serene sound erupted from the snowy maw. It was much like demented cackling, dark laughter. As if there was something funny, some dark humor, to what the ebony fae had said. But what had she said? Only her name. No, not her name, the name that symbolized the slightest remnants of sanity. The calling that belonged to a wolf who had driven herself mad. And somehow, this was funny to the twisted creature who lay on its side on the earth. "Destiny? Destiny is gone! Destiny is lost! Lost, lost! To Hellfire with Destiny! Destiny had no one! At least I can have no one while no one knows me!" The words were slightly mangled; the sentences barely making sense. The snowy fae turned her good eye towards the wolf, gaze of piercing and fiery ice slicing through her figure. "Oh! Oh, you be Night! Destiny knew you! Destiny thought you a just and honorable alpha, she did!" The fae fell back into a fit of hysterical and dark laughter. "But Destiny be gone! Gone, gone, gone! Destiny was gone before her body even died! Destiny has been gone ever since he has! Oh yes, she's been gone for awhile!" The fae's icy eye stared upon Night's figure, then Night's face, with a strange intensity. As if she was trying to focus but couldn't. The other eye, ripped right down the center, so that there was a deep gash, a tear, that could be seen, stared out lifelessly at nothing. The color seemed to have drained from it, but it was hard to tell.

"Oh, shut up." The familiar, but hoarse gruntings of a silver femme wove through the air. Her pelt was stained with soot, but still silver-laced and blue. She dragged herself forward, up out of a dark cavern, and glared directly at Destiny. "I've been rotting away in Hellfire for over a season now, and trust me, there was no Destiny there." She shook herself, eyes tired, cold, tormented. And where are you now, Arroyo? Where are my children? And Feather? What has become of the forest I left in your paws, love?

"...Siveria?" Night turned around, regarding her friend with cautious eyes. "...why were you in Hellfire?" She scolded herself inwardly for sounding stupid and ignorant... but she couldn't help but ask. She found that she no longer cared much for anything, especially after the only two wolves that she ever cared about had vanished without a trace. Oh, Zolor... where are you and your sister now?
About a mile from the meeting point of the three alphesses, a snowy white form made its way forward, eyes ripe with a strange form of guilt, hurt, and shame. He could see her now, distant and mad... because of him, he assumed. Because he could not remain loyal to a single lover... and for that, he stopped halfway toward Destiny and stared at the sky. I should turn back... Lakota didn't move.

Neck that looked almost fragile, but not quite, was twisted in such a way a painful way that there was a slight cracking sound as she cracked it. Much in the same way one would crack their, er, wrists, after not using them for a long time or using them constantly. Icy gaze landed upon the figure that was Siveria, Goddess of Winter. Or at least, that's what Destiny remembered this wolf as. "Oh, Siveria! You, and Destiny, you two were good friends! Or were you rivals? Destiny seems a little muddled in that area! It's almost as if she saw you as both!" The fae let out a hysterical laugh and let her head loll backwards. "Oh but why would she not? An alphess like you! So brave and courageous in your time, and look at you now! A great Goddess for Golden Wolf's sake!"
Lakota... The brute you, I mean, we, love? Oh Lakota.. perfect Lakota... That's waht turned you mad, you know. Hmm? That's how I, your insanity, came to exist. Oh hush, I'm still here... Are you? You know all I need is him. Foolishness. No, no he could bring back Destiny. I doubt it.
An internal conversation, with whom? Herself? Oh dear.
The fae rolled onto her back, lengthy tail of snow, thick with each beautiful hair rather long, fanned out on the ground. Crown lolled back, and another wolf came into her dazed, confused focus. A white brute.

Why is she acting like this? Night wondered... only to follow Destiny's gaze toward a figure in the distance. All questions forgotten, she took a few steps toward the snowy creature. Oh no... Destiny! Her eyes jumped from the beta to the alphess, pieces coming into place. It... it was him!
In a few minutes, Lakota realized that he had been spotted. I... I can't leave her now. Not again. I must help her get better... He forced himself to move forward, traveling at a slow pace until he reached the femme who had help confuse and blur the life he had before... and whose life he had help destroy. My fault... my fault. Lakota halted again, now only yards away from Destiny... with conflicting emotions dancing in his eyes. I know I love you... but I loved her too... I loved her before you... and now she's gone... and I'm causing you pain...

The confusion, the misunderstanding in her eyes was evident. The alphess remained there, lying on her back, head lolled back, staring at him with her eye. The eye that seemed cloudy and glazed. Misted over, as if she were dying or in great agony. Distant and lost. Then, suddenly, her auds of snow perked, became alert. Her tail tip twitched, as did her front left paw. Optic suddenly snapped into focus. Clear as the mid day sky during a beautiful, sunny Spring day. Focused directly on him. On his face. Remembering him. "Lakota." The voice, it was Destiny's voice. It was her's, it was the sane voice. And then everything was gone again. The fae looked dead again, lost again. Confused eye gazing up at this brute that had killed her. No, he had not killed her body, Akaira had done that. But he had killed her. Lakota had killed Destiny.
The alphess had been strong while she was still alive. She'd forced her paws to move, forced herself to eat, to talk, to breathe. Forced life to continue for her body. But she had been dead. And when the body died, Destiny had given up. Given up on hoping, on wishing, on being strong. Given up on family, on friends and on herself. But she'd never given up on Lakota. How could she?
I still love you. How can we love him? How can we not.[/i]

Siv answered Night's question dryly. "I felt like hell." She glanced from Destiny, to Lakota, confused at first, then eventually letting it sink in. She'd heard of the dramatic ending with Lakota, Grug, and Destiny. She couldn't really relate, and at the time, she'd been disgusted, but now she felt twinges of sympathy for the fallen alphess. "Destiny, you need to calm yourself." She glared at Lakota. "And you need to leave. Now."

Although Night was initially surprised that Siveria had replied so wryly, the alphess was quick to reprimand, arguing with herself that Siveria had, too, been subject to mournful aching. And after her own experiences, she felt as if she could now care less that the former alphess was treating her in such a sardonic matter… and was now turning to give Lakota a semi-hostile glare.
“Leave? How can I leave now?” the former beta responded in a hoarse voice, his throat decidedly raw from either bitter self-disgust or disuse… he wasn’t quite sure which one. Lakota lifted his head to challenge Siveria’s disapproving gaze, but the fight had long left his eyes. If Destiny wanted him to leave- and he had no doubt that she did with a passion- she could voice those concerns herself. Otherwise, he would execute the words that had such pained him since his… suicide. …yes, I suppose throwing myself off a cliff qualifies as suicide he thought, numb to any emotion other then enhanced guilt and regret. But meeting the eyes of his alphess proved to be a more trying task than he had previously anticipated- although he had known in advance that it would not be easy to confront such a wolf. And when he finally met her eyes, the words he had recited thousands of times over in preparation to their eventual meeting fled his mind, leaving a barren landscape that had once housed possible solutions to their problems… Then again, what solution could ever overcome the pain I’ve given her? It was one thing to witness one you cared deeply about endure pain. It was another entirely when you were the root cause of said pain. At that moment, Lakota could feel austerity crackle through the air like lightning, and hardly realized that his mouth was moving before he had whispered- more to himself than anyone else- the words he had lingered over in his mind… with grave remorse heavy in his voice. “…god… what have I done to you?”

"NO!" The shriek was the most piercing thing that had ever come from her maw, in life or death. It was as if Destiny, the true Destiny, had suddenly snapped into existence. The creature had flipped itself over, and was now standing tall. Tail of snow held high in the air and fluffed up quite a bit. Canvas covering muscular shoulders, back and neck all bristled. Claws stabbing the ground. Fangs bared as upper and lower lip pulled back in a furious snarl. When she spoke, each word was dragged out to the point that they were all separate sentances. "He's. Not. Going. Anywhere." There was fury and agony in her voice, the fury directed at Siveria for suggesting that he leave, the agony that was stronger caused by his presence. How could she want someone who caused her such pain to stay?
The former alpha might very well have remained there, glaring at Siveria and Night too upon noticing the semi-hostile glare, but she didn't. Auds swiveled, perking to catch Lakota's words. The only thing that sounded like music. He was her drug, her drug that caused pain but allowed joy. Her love. Crown turned towards him, and the fury fell from the fae like a leaf falling from a tree branch. Tail drooped until it was lying on the ground, pelt settled, crown lowered. Tears of crystal overflowing the fae's eye, or perhaps eye's, as her limbs crumpled beneath her. The cold ground meeting her figure once again. "Don't-" She cut herself off with a sob. "-You dare."

Lakota watched Destiny with an nearly wary expression, and was too emotionally worn to care if she saw through his conflicted mind or not. He swallowed slowly, guilt now beginning to constrict his heart like a colossal snake, gradually choking the life from his core as it prepared to swallow him whole. So, this was all that was left to do. Alaskansong had disappeared from the realms of the living and the dead. He no longer spoke to his wise older sister, Taiga, whom he did not want to bother with his problems. His children most likely despised him by now- at least, he guessed as much. And now the wolf who had caused his life much confusion stood inches away, driven to hysteria by his own faults. Sometimes I wish… that you would’ve just stayed in the past, Alaskansong he thought, dread creeping up in his throat and misery palpable. “…do you wish to hurt me for what I did to you?” He didn’t think that she did, but at the same time he halfway wished to be beaten senseless… I would deserve it Lakota thought simply. He wanted to keep that option open if she wanted to resort to physical violence.
((I can see it now!- Lakota. The furry punching bag X3))

The entirety of her figure shuddered as she sobbed, more to herself then anyone else. Paws momentarily brought up to hide her face. Tears of crystal slithering from her eye of ice and perhaps the other one too, and settled in the fur about her face; this made it look much like ice. "Hurt you?" A questioning look was sent in his direction, crown had been quickly raised upon his question. Suddenly the fae lept to her paws. Figure surged forward, fangs bared, aimed right for his face. But her jaw snapped closed on the air next to his head as she changed her course. "How could I ever hurt you?" The words were nothing more then a whisper as her body fell to a halt, only inches from him, unless of course he had moved away from her by now. Even though he had killed Destiny, Destiny could not bring herself to hurt him. Not this perfect wolf she loved. Not Lakota. She'd sooner he dismembered and beheaded her body then she hurt him.
