Rhain's eyes flickered and narrowed, a shower of rain pouring over the valley. Thunder rolled overhead, flashes of light ripping through the "skies" now and then. She watched the water drench all of the wolves around her, giggling with happiness. "TAKE THAT!"

The rain... Rhain had apparently intended it to make the wolves disperse. However, it cause quite the opposite...  "STORM!" a wolf yelped. "PROTECT THE WOMAN!" yelled another XDXD The crowd of wolves dropped Rhain onto the ground and then all swarmed on top of her, shielding her from the rain. (LOL) |

Rhain snarled with indignation, sending up sprouts of blackthorns and thistles. They surrounded her pursuers...one thicket even let out a little snarl of its own. "GET BACK YOU LITTLE FREAKS!" She growled.

The wolves whirled about, still in a protective formation around Rhain. "THREATS TO THE WOMAN!"
"ATTACK!" one of them yowled.
Still in a defensive stance about Rhain, they savagely attacked the plants.
Lupus couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Rhain.... Rhain-- they're only trying to help!"

"THEY CAN HELP MY--"
She was cut off my a VERY loud belch as Mr. Thicket swallowed one of his attackers.
"Lupus, I think Mr. Thicket should stand up in our wedding!" she laughed.

Lupus rolled his eyes.
"ANTHONY!!"
One wolf turned his head and raced up to Lupus, bowing his head respectfully. "Yes, my lord?"
"Get your friends off my wife!" he growled.
"Of course, sir!" Anthony replied, howling "RETIRE!" shortly afterwards.
All the other wolves calmly sat down, staring loyally up at Anthony and now completely ignoring the plants, Rhain, and Lupus.

The thickets surrounded the other wolves, blinking with hostility, but not attacking or advancing any further. XD
Rhain snorted with irritance. "I really don't like you right now, Lupus!" she grunted.

Lupus woofed in acknowledgement and growled at Anthony. "I thought I told you guys once before that I like to be alone sometimes?"
"You can't trust anyone, sir!" Anthony yelped.
"...then how can I trust you?"
"Except us!" all the other wolves added in unison.

Lupus paused, and narrowed his eyes.
"But oh so annoying..."
"Protect the leader!" they all howled. "Protect the woman!"

Lupus shrugged. "Well, they all died off after twenty years or so... thankfully..."
All the black wolves waited quietly for a command.
At last, Lupus' eyes sparked. He had an idea.
"The lot of you-- fetch me the GoldenWolf! I wish to speak with him!"
"AYE!" the all howled.
In three seconds flat, the wolves vanished in search of an impossible to find wolf.

"And WHY didn't you do that sooner?" Rhain yawned, exhausted. "Now I'm pooped!" She flopped down in the grass.

Lupus grinned. "To tell you the truth, I found it very amusing that they went after you and not me... I was in hysterics." He laughed softly.
"...that, and the fact that I didn't think of that excuse until now."
