innoccent. oblivious. lucky.kaylee + corsivo + griffen Kaylee was restless. She never really saw the beauty in staying still and silent, especially when sleep time came and she was still bouncing with energy. Wolves preferred the night, anyhow, or at least that's what she'd learned. In her opinion, everyone had the sleeping schedule reversed. Seriously, how can you howl at the moon when it's still sleeping? Howling when it's light out just gets people to stare out you!
She sighed, laying hr head down on her two crossed front paws and peering out of the rabbit fur nest. Corsivo and Griffen were twitching uncomfortably, probably noting Mother's abscence. Mystic was off at a battle, and though Kaylee had begged to be taken with, she'd been nearly hysterical at the mere mention of it. "I would never have you anywhere near there! You're far too young for such things! It would be a death wish!" She'd said to Kaylee.
Kaylee would normally try something like this anyway, despite her mother's warnings, but the look on her mother's face was enough to keep her in the camp, tucked in the nursery this time. And besides, she had no idea where this battle was taking place. One of the warriors that had stayed behind was snoring loudly in the next nest over. Kippy and Weed, two neophytes, were also passed out in front of the nursery. Shrugging away some pieces of fur and moss, she carefully leaped from the nest and landed soundly next to her sleeping brothers. "Wake up!" She whispered, nosing them awake. She looked around for Natoma and Maya, prepared and ready to wake them up also.
Corsivo grunted as he felt a wet snout poking him from his nightmares. He rolled over, confused. I was just stuck between an angry wild boar and a waterfall....it went from wanting to eat me to tickling me?! Wait, no.....it's too small to be a boar.... He blinked his eyes open wide, taking a few seconds to focus in on Kaylee's eager face. He groaned and closed his eyes again, turning back over in the fluffy bedding. "Go away!" He grunted. She continued to poke him, harder this time, until he sat up. "Okay, okay, I'm up!"
Griffen was awake much easier than Corsivo;; he hadn't really been sleeping and was just as energized as Kaylee was. He wasn't always hyper or happy-go-lucky like his sister, but he did like a good adventure, and it seemed Kaylee had something particularly pleasant on her mind. He swiped his tongue over himself, cleaning the bedding from his pelt while Kaylee went to wake Natoma and Maya.

Maya shrugged and rolled to the other side bumping into the wall from the noise. She was dreaming of swimming and catching fish again. She loves swimming cause it was fun. Even though the closest thing she got to swimming was the shore lines and putting her paws in the water. The water felt good on her paws anyways. Then again, when she is awake, she won't go back to sleep. Maya got up on her four paws and walked toward her sister, Kaylee. "What's going on?" She asked. [/blockquote][/color]

Kaylee whirled around on her paws, stumbling a bit. She hadn't been expecting Maya's sudden appearence, and as she spun dizzily, she tripped and fell right on top of Natoma. She winced and got up quickly, padding back over to Maya and hoping she wouldn't irk her sister too terribly. "Mom's at the battle, and I heard it's gonna be a really bad one...and I have no idea where the battle is...so, unfortunately, we're stuck here without any action. Well, I simply won't stand for that! After all, even when the spotlight isn't on us, the show still carries on!" She declared, eyes glittering with sly eagerness.
Griffen rolled his eyes at Kaylee's dramatic attitude and stretched his limbs, one by one. He leaped out from the nest and joined his two siblings, looking back to see if Corsivo was coming. I hope it's an actual good idea -- if not I do have a few things in mind. We could probably even try pranking the wolves watching the camp! Though that might cause more trouble than its worth....well, we can use it if everything else gets utterly boring. But I think tonight will be fun -- Kaylee's a tricky one, but I don't remember ever seeing her this...in gear.
Corsivo grumbled to himself as he got out of the cozy, lucious, inviting comforts of his heavenly bed. Sweet rabbit's ear moss, the softest they new, with downy bird feathers and pelts of rabbits and ferrets and the smaller prey the wolves hunted. A gentle, warm scent that reminded him of food and cheery smiles right before he laid his head down to sleep--- ENOUGH! I'll never stay awake if I keep thinking about stuff like that! Though I think I would rather be in the bed at this point. Just as long as it's entertaining...and we don't get into too much trouble...I think I'll be fine.

“So…what do you have in mind then, Kaylee?” Natoma ears twitched, but her eyes remained closed and she didn’t move a muscle. She hadn’t been asleep, but she was exhausted at the same time. It’s not like I can start dreaming now that everyone else is up and about anyway she thought somewhat bitterly. After another moment’s hesitation, she lifted her head from its place between her paws. Blinking at Kaylee with shining blue eyes, she wondered whether or not they’d get in trouble for whatever it was Kaylee intended on doing. Probably her inner voice answered. She was probably the calmest one of the group, but that didn’t mean she was against breaking the rules every once in a while.

Kaylee snorted with exapseration. "You guys look half dead! Well...I suppose I should explain it. It would be fun, I think, to sneak out of the camp...but wouldn't it be more fun to see the Twilight Clearing? Mom says that's where the wolves from each pack gather each new moon to share news. Well, why wait? We'd be the first pups to see it!" She declared, glowing with eagerness. "We could tell the neophytes when we're older and tell our children someday! We'd go down in history or something! And besides, it would be cool to see it, anyway, don't you think? I mean, isn't that where wolven history really starts? Where heaven is closest to the earth?" She was pacing now, exerting all the effort she could to reel in her siblings.
Griffen shrugged thoughtfully. It isn't half bad, and she is right -- it would be cool to see. And besides, I can't let her just go off by herself! We'd probably get in trouble if we did, and we might get in trouble anyway, so we might as well go along. I don't wanna look like a wuss, either. "All right," he woofed after a while, excitement glinting in his eyes. "I'll come along. How about the rest of you?" He swept his eyes around at his other siblings, growing a little more eager. Maybe we could find the Twilight Lake and go swimming!
Corsivo groaned aloud, not caring that Kaylee and Griffen rolled their eyes at him. It wasn't that he was a wuss, it was just that he hated getting into trouble with Lance and Mystic. He was fine if they remained unseen and unnoticed, but he constantly had to keep his siblings in check to make sure they avoided consequences for their actions. He sighed after a while, giving in to his less noble side. "Okay, okay, I'll come. How about it, Natoma, Maya?" He looked at them, half-hoping they would decide to stay back.

Yawning softly, Natoma reaching her forelegs outward in a catlike stretch. She blinked at Corsivo, who didn't seem as enthusiastic to go, before switching her attention to Kaylee. "Alright... I'll go too." After all, she didn't want to be the only one not going- she would get in trouble anyway if she stayed for not stopping her siblings. Just ignore you're moral compass she told herself half-jokingly, consoling her guilt with the idea that they would have plenty of fun on their little outing.

Instead of waiting for Maya to answer, Kaylee yipped her glee and did a little victory dance. She silenced herself immediately when she spotted on of their guards rolling over in their sleep. She giggled softly and rolled her eyes at this. "That was a close cut! I suppose we'll have to be careful," she whispered to the others. "Okay, I'm ready to go now, how 'bout you guys?" She grinned, eyes flashing with the prospect of adventure. It had been a while since she'd thought up anything good. Tonight seemed like the opportune night to get her creative juices flowing once more. Maybe going to the Twilight Clearing would inspire her even more!
Griffen nodded, excitement building. He looked at Maya, wondering if she would come or not. "Well, there's no use in waiting around. Let's go! Besides, we don't want to waste time. There's no telling when the brigades will be back from the battle," he woofed, tail twitching slightly. He wasn't afraid of the consequences, more frustrated that they wouldn't have enough time to explore the clearing and the regions around it.
Corsivo groaned suddenly. "How are we even going to get there? It's not like any of us knows the way, anyway. And, like Griffen pointed out, we have no idea when the warriors will get back. If we're gone, they'll probably panic and send out a search party or something. And then our guards will get in trouble, too! And it's not their fault that some of us," he sent a meaningful glare towards Kaylee, "refuse to follow rules that are only meant for our own safety!"
Griffen grunted in dismissal. "An inquisitive mind gets you places, Corsivo. If you stay put all the time you'll never find the answers to anything! And the way to the Twilight Clearing won't be hard to find. You just follow the flow of the rivers and streams, and we can get to it," Griffen retorted.

Natoma almost smirked, watching her siblings argue over rules. As far as she was concerned, they were going anyway- Kaylee's attitude had already established that. Corsivo will need some reassuring, though the she-wolf thought to herself. Padding toward her slightly larger brother, Natoma licked Corsivo's ear comfortingly. "You should know by now that you can't talk Kaylee out of anything," she yipped humorously. "And besides- if we get caught, we could always say that Kaylee stuffed a hare in our mouths and dragged us off with her." There was a small giggle here, before she glanced back at her sister with an only joking expression.

Kaylee scowled at first at Natoma's words, not satisfied with this sudden conclusion. Then, meeting her sister's eyes, understanding flooded in. She looked away and blinked again, her scowl retaining it's gloomy, grumpy composure. "Yeah, I guess if that'll keep you from complainin', Corsivo, that's the way it'll have to be," she sighed dramatically, adding effect to their little scheme. "But we're wasting time, so let's go!" She yipped, suddenly cheery once more. She bounded to the entrance, paws tingling with excitement. She poked her head through the nursery exit, then turned back towards her siblings. "I think we need to use a different route. There's a space towards the back that's kind of loose -- we should use that," she explained to them.
Griffen padded over to the entrance, then frowned as he spotted Weed and Kippy guarding it. They were sleeping, sure, but they were too close to the entrance. They could land on top of them all too easy, and then there would be no sneaking out of the camp. He murmured a soft approval, then went to scope out the back exit.
Corsivo calmed a bit, and shrugged. "All right, let's use the back, then," he agreed. He shook his head at Kaylee's apparent triumph, but continued with the others towards the back of the nursery. One of these days, I will use that excuse, and Kaylee will get what's coming to her. Seriously, if this is how she is as a pup, how's her mentor going to fare with her?

Natoma straightened her posture, padding steadily towards the back of the den, sniffing an area where the protecting barrier wasn't tightly held together. Carefully but quickly, she reached out a paw and moved away some of the moss and other bedding that was in the way, and then began to basically dig a little until the space began to widen. "I think we'll be able to slip through," she murmrued. Glancing up, she nodded to Kaylee. "Do you want to lead the way, then?"

Kaylee seemed uncertain for the briefest of moments, but she brightened and nodded happily. "All right! Let's blow this joint!" She snickered shoftly, scooting through the gap. "It's all clear!" She whispered back to the others. She waited on joyous, anxious paws that dance around on the soft, forest ground. Her eyes were wide with delight as they took in the pines, the oaks, the maples. They all towered above her, a little intimidating in the darkness. She shivered a bit, but it was out of excitement for her voyage, not out of fear. I can't be afraid! Warriors aren't afraid, they're always fearless! If I'm going to be a warrior someday, I'd better start now!
Griffen hesitated at the hole, then looked at Corsivo, eyes gleaming with amusement. "You next, brother!" He laughed softly, nudging him through the opening. He followed directly after, marveling at the sights before him as he emerged into the forest. "Wow! I wonder what the rest of the territory's like? And the Twilight Clearing must be even more fantastic!" He gasped in awe.
Corsivo muttered crossly as he was nudged into the whole, but his bitterness evaported when he stepped into the woods. He, too, was mesmerized by their shapes. "Woah....we'll get to hunt and run and fight here someday!" He gushed suddenly. The other two looked towards him, blinking with suprise at his enthusaism. "Well, hey, as long as we're going I might as well try and enjoy myself!" He pretended to sniff, but nothing could conceal his delight.

Maya sighed and just sat down for the whole conversation until they finally decided to leave the joint and started to head for where ever. She just followed Corsivo without any emotion. Plus if she stayyed, they'll ask her questions that she had to answer so might as well come even if Maya gets into trouble. Kaylee snickered softly, batting daintily with one paw at the glowing fireflies around them. Her eyes were wide, enthused, seeming to shimmer with tireless energy. She wasn't exactly patient while waiting for Natoma and her other siblings to join her, but rather occuppied with another interest enough not too complain. She danced around, twirling and spinning to hit the glowing bugs.
Griffen chuckled to himself as Kaylee poked and prodded the lightning bugs. He himself stayed standing only a little ways away from the hole, patiently standing guard as the other pups made their way out of the nursery. When Kaylee thumped to the dirt rather loudly, he hissed under his breath. "Kaylee, they'll hear us! You can enjoy yourself without being completely wreckless!" He warned his sister, eyeing her severely.
Corsivo paced in front of the gap under the nursery barrier, muttering darkly as the others followed him. He was privately excited, but knew he would never hear the end of Kaylee's 'I told you so!''s if he openly expressed it. Maybe, once the got to the clearing, he wouldn't be able to disguise his feelings of mischeif, but for now, he padded around safely behind his grumpy, displeased facade.

Squeezing through the gap, Natoma easily slipped through the hole and out into the outside world, being small and trim as she was. Smiling fondly Corsivo, she padded over to him and rubbed her head against the under side of his chin. "That's the spirit," she yipped softly, gracefully pulling away from her brother to pad off in silence. "So, you said something about finding streams, Griffen... so we'd better find the water." She perked her ears, listening for the sound of nearby splashes.

Kaylee ceased her dance aburptly, then looked expectantly at Griffen. "Lead the way, mighty warrior Griffen!" She giggled, nippng him lightly on the ear and jumping away before retaliation could be dealt. "Okay, okay, I guess we-- well, I -- should stay on task," she snickered.
Griffen rolled his eyes and cuffed his sister lightly over the ears. "All right. Um...I'm not really sure what direction it's in, but it can't really be that far! I mean...maybe we should try and find a regular path that the warriors take and see where that leads us. They usually take a few routes out of the camp to go hunting in the different erritory regions, so I mean it can't be that hard to find," he woofed, excitement joined with deep thought.
Corsivo grunted at Natoma, but did not complain anymore. He glanced at Griffen suspicioulsy, but grudgingly nodded. "Yeah, I suppose that makes sense. We probably won't get lost, either, because we can just backtrack if we don't find anything," he offered his consent.
