Flattening her ears against her head, Natoma lifted her muzzle high in the air and inhaled deeply. A plethora of scents greeted her almost immediately. Sneezing quickly, she shook her pelt and glanced back at her siblings. "There are a lot of scents- but they seem stronger over there." Nodding in the direction the scents were strongest, she looked to Griffen for confirmation. Her eyes seem to ask do we go over there, then?

Kaylee eyed Natoma curiously, then took a large, exaggerated sniff for herself. She wrinkled her nose to avoid sneezing like her sister had. There was so much! So many new flavors and twangs she'd yet to label or identify, so much to take in all at once! Well, this way, we'll all be so much more prepared for when we're neophytes! I bet our training will go smoother than it ever has for any wolves! We'll be masterful in no time! She sighed dreamily as she invisioned their futures in this lush world.
Griffen shrugged at Natoma's question. "I suppose so....hey, what's that bitter black stuff?" He nodded to black, billowy clouds rising into the air. "I've never heard of anything like it before..." he stared at it in wonder, but soon found his eyes starting to sting. "I don't think it's safe...it kind of hurts your eyes...., like poking, searing, stining...."
"...burning." Corsivo finished, glaring up at the dark, feather haze. "That's the way the seniors describe smoke...smoke comes from fires," he explained to them. Corsivo enjoyed the company of the seniors immensely. "Well, maybe we should check it out. If it's dangerous, we can warn the camp, and then we can be...heroes!" He was suddenly excited. Corsivo liked the thought of being looked up to, being the protector, the defender. Even though it was a stretch, his secret ambitions were enough to make him voice this and consider the idea.

Natoma blinked in surprise at her brother- he had seemed hesitant to go at first, and now appeared to want to be... what was it? A hero? She mentally shrugged it off. Corsivo always seemed to be the sensible siblings to her- why not listen to him now? After all, he had known what the strange black clouds were. After a few minutes of silent thought, Natoma softly responded with a "...alright- why not?" She glanced in the direction of the smoke. "After all, it'll be easy to find with that smoke trail..."

Kaylee mulled this over, then nodded enthusiastically. "Maybe they'll make us neophytes early!" She cheered hopefully. "I mean, if we save the pack, they can't just ignore our talents, right? I mean we obviously deserve to be in training all ready!" She declared, grinning widely. "All right, Corsivo leads the way!" She grinned, eyes gleaming up at her brother.
Griffen narrowed his eyes. "Since when are you so excited to be out an about, Corsivo? Just a minute ago you were grumbling about getting into trouble. And if we do help in some way, they'll probably overlook the fact that we snuck out, but we don't know that for sure! It seems awefully odd to me," he accused.
Corsivo nodded determindly, prepared to head off towards the black clouds, but then he stopped, glaring back at Griffen defensively. "Well why even come, then? Are you scared, big bag Griffen? Look, if we're gonna help the pack, there's no room for cowardice!" He snapped back.
"You're only sidestepping my questions because you're afraid to answer them! Hypocrite, much? Whatever. I'm sitting this one out. And besides, you might know what smoke is, but we don't have a clue how to deal with it!" He retreated into the hole without another word.

Glancing back at Griffen, Natoma suddenly had a couple scenerios play over in her mind a few times. Feeling a little unsure and perhaps a bit ill with her thoughts, she padded up to Corsivo with lowered head. Ears back, she uttered hesitantly, "Are you sure about this, Corsivo?" She wasn't afraid of getting caught- she was afraid about one of them getting hurt.

Maya was sorta getting where Kaylee was getting to now. Saving the pack was good but what if they get burned or worse? Well, not thinking of the worse, Maya just followed everyone.
((Yeah, skool is gonna kill my brain except for english cause it's basically grammer.))

(Kunai... I thought you were Mexican/Californian? XD ) Kaylee hesitated, but said nothing. She loved theatrics, loved the idea and the reasonings behind what they were doing, but she had her limits, too. However, she would be the last to back down now. Corsivo was finally excited about something! She didn't intend to waste this sweet moment.
Griffen debated turning his siblings in, but decided against it. He felt like waking one of the camp guards, but instead went straight back to his nest, quite colder now without the warmth of his siblings pelts. By the time he woke one of the guards, the pups could scoot back into the nest. He would wait, and if they were gone when he woke up, he would tell someone.
Corsivo turned his glare to Natoma. "Of course it's safe! It's not like we're plunging head-long into it! We're just seeing if we can spot it, and then we're heading back, okay?" He sighed, impatient.

(I have to go to school in 15 min, but I felt like posting before I went ) Natoma retreated a few steps from Corsivo when he glared at her, uttering something incomprehensible before heading toward the back of their little 'line'. Standing behind everyone with her normal calm posture broken, she glanced back toward the nest's direction before uttering a quick, "Lead, then." She didn't want to back out of their little deal, but was still tempted to return to the safety of her nest. After all, Griffen is already there- it's not like I'll be alone... Stop it, you coward. Listen to Corsivo... he says that he knows what he's doing...

(Good luck =] ) Kaylee fidgeted nervously, smile wiped from her face. Sure, she pressured her siblings sometimes, but Corsivo was getting a little out of control. "Yeah, what are we doings tanding here? I mean, let's go already if we're gonna go," she sighed. Best not let me have any more second thoughts...please let him hurry it up!
Corsivo sighed, feeling guilty immediately as Natoma's face fell. He turned and started forward, towards the smoke stacks. In reality, he really didn't know what they could do to help. I mean, if they could see the smoke, then the warriors probably could, too. But they might be distracted by the battle!

(high school was a bitch XDXD Ah well- only four more years of it, right? ) Still uneasy, Natoma padded after the others, ears flat against her head as she glanced around her. As they walked, she felt a breeze ruffle her fur. Normally a breeze would be cooling during this season, but it blew from the direction of the fire, and only brought uncomfortable heat and more bitter scents of the smoke. Glancing toward her siblings, she began to truly consider turning around and joining her brother in the den.

Kaylee sneezed rather violently as the smoke thickened, pelt fluffing up instintively. "Okay, this is stupid!" She snapped suddenly. "Really, why couldn't they see it if we can see it now? This is a bad idea, Corsivo. Yes. You're hearing me, of all wolves, say that it's a bad idea. Hopefully that will be enough to get through your big ego and talk some sense into you!" She sighed with irritance, and perhaps a trace of fear. She crouched low to the ground, eyes narrowed as she tried to see forward into the darkness. She made no move to retreat. I'm not leaving until Natoma and Corsivo agree to leave. I can't let them just stay out here...
Corsivo sighed, resigned. "Yeah, I guess the other warriors could probably see it," he admitted. He was about to fold completely when something darted away into the dark swirls. He froze, suddenly frightened. "What was that?!" He whispered to Natoma and Kaylee.

Unles you ment by English. *roll eyes* Someone thought that I use to live in Canada though at skool two days ago!!!)) Maya almost jumped when one of her brothers said: What was that!. She didn't know what it was and also being scared easily isn't one of the good things in the world. Plus she doesn't want to scream now sense they are going back. ]

The fur on the back of her neck stood up, and Natoma lowered her form, taking a few steps back, nearly jumping when she backed into a bush. "Corsivo... can we go back now?" She had to fight to avoid stuttering her words. Then, in a swift instant, she felt a sharp pain in the back of her neck. She parted her jaws in a half howl, half scream. She felt herself being dragged back into the brush, her limbs flailing about helplessly as she twisted about, trying to catch a glimpse of her attacker. She did. It was a wolf, but he rank of death and coals, his eyes aflame with rabid anger. It was enough to stun Natoma into silence as the undead wolf's fangs dug deeper into the scruff of her neck, blood leaking from the holes in her skin.
