Lowering his head slowly, he blinked in half-submission to the female. "...okay," he uttered, hesitation thick in his voice. Blinking, he added a soft, "Do not worry- the smaller ones will be less... surprised."
What he failed to add was that he had no intention of seeking out 'smaller ones' while Fate was still around... not yet.
He retreated back a few steps, breathing heavier. Then, with a final glance at Aaliyah, he turned and disappeared into the brush.

Fate cast an odd glance at Aaliyah, and she sighed. "I wish the old crab would just die. Poor thing." She rolled her eyes, and retreated towards her pups. She would rest there for a few hours, but it had already been several hours, her pups would awaken, and she would have no choice but to follow.
Soon she was fast asleep in the deep den, trying to decided if she should be relieved or nervous of the upcoming... events.
