Natalia seemed undaunted, a small smile sneaking on her maw as she leaped again, clamping down on the same wounds she had made before, darting, tail, dart, muzzle....
This wolf was probably smart enough to think of a counterattack in a few moments, but whatever he thought no longer mattered. Natalia was no longer alone; Luma was pelting through the crowd, taking a running leap. Her legs pumped and maneuvered easily; she was built to run. Luma made a fast-paced lunge and clamped down on the wolf's ear, pulling it away from his skull, teeth snaring it and attempting to remove it. If he didn't get lost soon, these two females would show no mercy.
Around them, the battle was starting to break up. No one had won or lost, really. Sure, the Hellfire wolves were retreating, but the Sheerans had suffered great losses. Losses that would make a shining summer day seem like the bitter midst of winter. But this was no shimmering day. Light filtered in through the curtains of fog and smoke, but visibility was scarcely improved. This fog, would not disperse, like their enemies....it would linger.
Regulus was sent shooting away, his screeches rining throughout the hollow. Pinned under the slightly larger wolf, Solaris was nearly finished until the cruel nature of the world around them worked to his advantage. He whipped his paw out at a pile of embers, singing his foot, but ultimately removing Regulus and harming him more than himself. Now, the dark wraith fled from the scene, coals still buried in his eyes.
Meg glared at Zacharia, panic rising like a wave, but she managed somehow not to tremble. As he lunged forward to snap at her muzzle, she made to make her own attack, but was too late. The pain that erupted in her muzzle blinded her, and she was lucky he'd drawn away. Solaris, being freed up, sprinted to intervene. He slashed black-thorn claws across Zacharia's face, snarling darkly.
