The clearing was infested and sawthed in smoke, and visibility was at an all time low, it seemed. Saskia and Olive huddled near the entrance to the herb healer den, coughing raucously. Saskia stood first, murmuring something to Olive. The two warriors stood and padded slowly into the herb healer den. "Kandoria?" Saskia rasped. "Olive and I inhaled a lot of smoke....do you have anything that would help --" she broke off into more raspy coughs. "Do you have anything that would help for coughing....breathing....?" Olive finished for her friends, eyes watering from the gray tendrils that swirled around them.
In fact much of the camp was infected with smoke sickness. Not to mentioned that fresh-kill pile was at an all time low. It had been charred to literally nothing, and so many warriors and neophytes were sick that it was hard to restock it.

Ligua burst into the Healer Cave, perhaps because the smoke was too thick and he had lost his way. Regardless, he blurted out, "I found a wolf in the Twilight Clearing under a tree!" He stepped on his own paw, then waved it in the general direction of the Clearing for added (and unnecessary) emphasis. He coughed, then looked around, confused. "Err..." Apparently, he hadn't noticed it was the Healer Cave until that moment... (Well, I thought it was a good opportunity for Ligua to blurt out his errand-like-thingy and meet Saskia and Olive... )

"You went into the Eternal tree?" Olive asked in suprise. "He didn't say in a tree, he said under a tree," Saskia pointed out. "Oh....well that's not good...did you recognize this wolf?" Olive asked anxiously. Saskia fidgeted. "If it was one of those freakshows running around in the fires, I hope they're crippled for life," Saskia muttered darkly. She looked around the healer den, wondering where Kandoria had gone.

Ligua lifted one shoulder in a shrug. "Kinda large... reddish white, maybe? Female." He glanced around, evidently a bit discomfited. "Er... what's the Eternal Tree?"

Erika coughed violently, and perked her ears at Liqua's words. The first wolf that popped into her head, was Dashina, the legendary, and deceased Riley's mate. She didn't know many wolves, but reddish fit her description... but Dashina was quite a small wolf... maybe she had grown? She shook her head, trying to remember who was at the meeting. There were the alphas, the betas, and the proxies... hmm, but so many had come! Proeliaters, and neophytes had been aplenty at the meeting!

( How is Dashina 'legendary' 0_o ? I mean maybe everybody was sad for a while....and if she had friends yeah they would be sad....but really a lot of wolves don't even know her =p)
Saskia looked at him like he'd just said a funny joke. She rolled her eyes, then when she realized he really was serious, she broke off into coughing again. "Er..." Olive only looked suprised. "The Eternal Tree is where wolves communicate with the Twilight Realm...usually only alphas, medicine wolves, and betas. Sometimes proxies are allowed in, as well as other wolves, but those other wolves are allowed to go only in times of dire need." She explained. "It's that big tree in the middle of the Twilight Clearing -- the root cave is where the wolves sleep in to speak with the ancestors."

{sorry this took me so long. I've been busy with my first week of skool!lol} Kandoria had been napping. Little did she know of the chaos that had been instilled on the forest and the pack. It was Ligua who had burst in that had awoken her. She awoke startled and slightly confused. She could smell smoke, but next to none and entered her den. She could hear the rasping voice of one of her packmates and the caoughing of many.
"Quick get inside!" She shouted.
As the entered she quickly went to her stash of herbs. Honeycomb was good for coughing. It was thick and it soothed the throat; probabally one of her better tasting remidies.
"Here eat this. It will sooth the coughing and as for breathing, getting out of the smoke will help with that and for heaven's sakes what in bloody hell is going on!?"

Olive jumped, a little startled by Kandoria's sudden appearence. To her dismay, the healer wolf seemed just as frazzled as the rest of them. She bent down and nibbled at the honeycomb, thinking hard. The medicine wolves will have to meet at the Twilight Clearing....and sleep in the Eternal Tree. They need the wisdom of our ancestors more now than ever.... but nothing like this has ever happened before! I mean...wolves have fought with rouges like we did with Blood Mist, the anicent packs had problems like we've had in the past, but I think we're out of our league here. No one seems to have any inkling as to what's happening -- not even the healers, the alphas, or the seniors! Something needs to be done....and quick! Where has Iver gone? We need him....

Ligua made a weird gesture of no real significance. "Uhm... okay."
Did anyone even hear me when I said there was a WOLF? Trapped under a TREE?
"There's still a wolf out there trapped under a tree..." he said again. He tilted his head in the direction of the clearing. "Is anyone going to, you know, help her?..."

"You didn't answer the question," Olive pointed out, still nibbling on honeycomb. "Is she someone you rocgnize? Not an enemy or anything? What pack?" She was calm, not at all sarcastic like her friend Saskia. Crow and Lyell joined the coughing twosome, making it four. They nodded to Ligue and went to take some of the honeycomb Kandoria had laid out. "Ligua says there's a wolf in the Twilight Clearing trapped under a tree." Saskia explained to them. Crow perked up, looking intensely interested. "Who is it?" Lyell, too, was listening intently.

Ligua was getting a bit frustrated, but he tried not to show it. Awkwardness is NOT paying off...
"I already said reddish white female wolf. Besides that..." He thought for a while. "I don't know a lot of wolves, but I've never seen her before, I think..." Obviously, he had not been paying attention at the meetings. "And I have no idea what pack she's in."
He scratched his left paw with his right paw. "I was just thinking maybe we should just go over there and see... If she's an enemy, we can just leave her there."

Olive shrugged, unmiffed. "Allright. Pernille's in the nursery -- the pups should be safe for a while..." she said to herself more than anyone. "You should take some honeycomb before you go, though," She woofed to Saskia, Crow, and Lyell. Saskia shrugged, impatient. "I already have. And besides, if it's a Yozoran then we need to get that wolf back to camp," she reminded Olive. Lyell took some of the honeycomb then stood by Olive. "I hope we're not too late -- there were some nasty things running around earlier..." "Yes," Crow woofed. "I've no idea what was going on. A bunch of shadows in the flames -- they almost looked wolf-like! Well, let's head out," The four ducked out of the den, waiting for Ligua.
Trianna limped into the den, a large splinter stuck in her back left leg. She winced as she half-crawled towards the healer den, looking for Kandoria. The healer would definitly busy with the recent going-ons...
