Frail, blackened paws crunched uncomfortably over the first harsh frost of the season. A lone, white she-wolf loped through the Siverian main camp alone in the pale dawn light. Shafts of mist still hung around, though much of it had been blasted away via the vortex of terror that had only continued the destruction of the forest. Why could no one else see it? Their world was completely crumbling to bits around them... If it wasn't the first war between the first packs, The Great War, then it would be whatever happened to the packs between then and Blood Mist. And if it was Death or Bloodsbane, it would've been Verlust. If not Verlust, the plague would be ready to take them out... The packs were meant to be destroyed. They were just pawns in some sick game played by some--- Yeah. Whatever. Doesn't matter I guess. She took up the smallest piece of scraggly prey and retreated to a seculded corner of the camp to eat alone.

Zero stalked to the corner of the camp he normally ate at with a scrawny squirrel he had caught earlier, the only prey he had found. Zero stopped when he saw a she-wolf in his spot. He glared at her for a moment, then sat off to the side a bit, watching her and waiting for her to move so he could once again claim his favored place.

Freya picked and nibbled her wau slowly through her slim, scarce meal. No bite held gusto, or even the ravenous hunger of a starving wolf. Sure, she was hungry....but the knots her her stomach were making digestion seem something revolting. Anxieties creased a hard, furrowedlin in her forehead, as if she had been thinking very hard for an extremely long time. And maybe she had -- she didn't even know anymore. And now look at me, I'm thinking about thinking for Sky's sake! Suddenly, she caught sight of another wolf standing nearby -- another warrior. Eh, Zero, I think his name is. She sniffed, irritated when he stood and stared at her. He apparently was quite ruffled and irritated by something or another. She growled crossly at him. "Do you have a probelm?" she snapped icily, flinching and cowering mentally at the sound of her voice -- it was so different than she remembered! So harsh and demanding! Of course, she didn't use it much now.... Whatever. If he doesn't have the decency to let misery devour me, then I'd just love to thrust it on his shoulders! See how he likes it!

"Sorry, but I normally eat there." Zero tried his best to keep cool, but he couldn't keep the anger from his voice. "You know you don't have to bite my head off, right?" he sneered. Zero finished his meal and stared at the left over bones, thinking about how he had killed another creature just so he could live a little longer. A quick thought about how it must feel to be hunted down flashed across his mind, but he shook his head to clear it and returned an icy stare at Freya.

Freya snorted, pelt fluffing up with irritation. "Well it's not like you own the place! And what would you do if some random freak came up to you and stared at you like you were straight outta Hellfire? I'd bet you'd get a little defensive, too!" Freya glared right back at Zero, insides trembling again as her outward displays of anger grew and intensified. I'm not mean! Why am I being so mean? Well...he's not exactly a nice wolf. He kinda deserves it...a little bit. Not really. But oh well, who cares! "You've never even talked to me before, anyway, so how was I supposed to know you like to come sit your rear here? Had I known it, I wouldn't even have sat here in the first place!" I know it's wrong.....but this is the first time I've talked in a while. I'm angry now, not sad....I guess this is the only way for the pack to get it through their thick heads...

Zero tried to ignore her, but his ears twitched as Freya yelled at him. He growled out of annoyance. "You don't own the place either, and you think I'm the freak?! You're the one who started yelling! And another thing..." Zero cut himself off, tired of arguing. He shook his head again and looked at the bones once again.

Freya rolled her eyes, heaving a heavy, exasperated sigh. She followed his gaze, wrinkling her nose at him in disgust. Her gaze bore into him once more as she retorted with undying snark, "Yeah, you're the freak -- you apparently think you have some telepathic connection with dinner bones!" She sniffed again, irritated and disgruntled. Okay. Party time's over. You can leave me in my misery now. My misery is different than most ;; it doesn't take kindly to company. No, it does not... "What's so special about this spot, anyway? That sharp, pointy rock over there looks mighttyyy comfortable...hey, maybe it's poke some sense ito you!" Freya growled.

"First, yeah I am a freak. Second, I don't think I have a connection with bone, I was just thinking." Zero buried the bones and sat back down. "Third, I like this spot because no one really comes over here and I can be alone. There, I just answered all your questions and admitted I'm a freak, happy now?" he growled.

"Are you happy now?" Freya flinched and scrambled to her paws, baring her fangs as her furious eyes turned to ones of impossible, grave grief and depth. She trembled for a minute, then shook her head, a new sort of glare burning with rage at Zero. "Happy?" She choked, eyes moving towards the healer den. "What do you think?" She got up and shook herself off, prepared to take her leave. Oh, Annelise -- if only you were here right now! Maybe I wouldn't be so absolutely dreadful to be around....

Zero watched he stand and quickly stood as well. "Uh... Sorry if I offended you with everything I said, I'm just not very good at talking with other wolves." He sighed deeply before continuing. "I haven't had the easiest life, and from what I can tell, you haven't either."

Freya moved her eyes away from him and stared at the open clearing, snow beginning to fall in great dollops of white fluff. "Yeah, I'm sorry too," she woofed softly, studying the cloudy flakes as they tumbled gracefully to the dirt. She sighed and sat again. I lied. Misery loves, loves, loves company. "I'm sorry you've had a rough time of it. I guess we all do, now and then." Okay, now just calm down, no need to be rude this time....hey, maybe you could make a friend. She swallowed hard. No one will ever replace Annelise, you know that, but you can still have others to lean on, relate to....

((sorry, short post, I can think of anything better))
"So... Can we start over? I'm Zero, I'm a warrior of the Siverian Pack." Zero barked in a rare happy mood. "I'm dumber than a fox and simply love to argue." He joked. "I hope we can be friends."

"...Start over...?" Freya repeated, both surprised and pleasured at the idea. Her voice only betrayed her unexpectence of the words, though. Her pleasure was revealed by just a flicker as her mouth turned up in a grim half-smile...fitting for turning pages and beginning things. "I'm Freya, also a Siverian warrior. I don't know all of the warriors yet most likely because I've only been one for about four moons now," she woofed, voice not flat or blank, but not giving any hints of any emotion behind the mask, either. "Stubborn? Yeah, me too. It's supposedly one of the characteristics we inherited all the way from Shimmering Mist. I...." she sighed, frowning at her paws. "I'm usually not so difficult....I'm just not myself lately. Typically, I'm happy, determined, good-natured but sarcastic....and I guess kinda insightful. I'm sorry, I don't know where it went..." Immediately, Freya was hit by a whirlwind of embarresment. She knew it wasn't anything she should be embarresed about ; packmates could confide in each other, and it's not like she went into deep gorey details. Whatever the reason behind her embarresment, it was far outweighed by the guilt she'd felt for speaking so harshly to her own packmate. I owed him some sort of explanation.

((I'm losing my muse!))
Zero chuckled. "It's fine. I didn't help at all, and I was acting worse than you. Besides, I'm the one who kept the fight going." 'But it's not my fault I'm like this, I've just had a hard life,' He thought to himself.

( hmm. I'll try and add a new concept in. Nothing too radical, I'm afriad xP )
Freya's mouth upturned slightly at the corners, a faint smile lighting her face for the briefest of instants. And for a minute, it seemed she was genuinely pleased to have exchanged apologies with this relative stranger. A sudden harsh wind blew the candle out. Fresh annoyance curled as a snarl from Freya's maw, unforgiving, malicious frost snapping at her face. But nothing could deter the joy Winter held in rentering the world once more. She twirled and powdered more frost over Freya, then presumed to throw half a snow drift her way. The cream and white she-wolf somersaulted head over paws, crashing into Zero from the shock of being hit with such a gigantic amount of frothing white. She stood immediately, shaking shivering, desperately trying to rid herself of the shimmering snow clumps. "Sweet something, have mercy!"
