((no idea...)
Gunnolf shrugged and studied the inside of the cranny. He then turned his gaze up toward the darkened sky. Finally, he looked at Raffa.
"You need to rest. You can sleep for a bit, I'll keep guard in case a loner wolf stumbled here and is looking for shelter."
Not even bothering to go inside the nook, he sat down by the entrance, ears and eyes alert.

Raffa yawned a little and nodded, simply taking the suggestion as an order. Heading to the rock, he closed his eyes and stumbled inside. Inside it was dark, but his ability to see in the dark was no match for it. There were claw marks and it smelled of wolf inside, but he guessed that it was just another neophyte like himself chilling in there.
Laying down, he closed his eyes and felt himself begin to drift off. Before he could say anything, he was asleep, breathing lightly, ears flattened against his head.

Outside, Gunnolf sighed and put his head on his paws. He managed to keep his eyes open, but found it a hard task.
Soft thumping on the ground made him look to his left. A rabbit had wandered too close to him, and with a quick slash of fangs, he hilled it. He picked it up and placed it inside the nook for Raffa, then went back outside.
Looking up at the sky, Gunnolf found that the storm and let up a bit, but it was still pretty bad. The lightning and thunder had stopped, and the rain wasn't coming down as hard.

Raffa sighed in his sleep. His fur began to dry, but slowly. The patter of rain outside seemed to keep him asleep, like a rythmatic comforter. As it began to subside, he tossed and turned. Soon the rabbit was placed inside the nook. Sniffing in his sleep, the older neophyte began to wake. As the scent of fresh rabbit filled his nostrils he began to feel okay. He could stand if he wanted to, but decided against it.
Reaching his neck out, he dragged the dead carcass towards him by its ear. Smiling to himself in the darkness, he bit into it and allowed the warm blood to flow down his throat. The salty taste of it and meat made him shiver with pleasure. After eating half of the rabbit, he carried it out. There was Gunnolf.
"Hey...you want the rest? I saved some."
He nudged the rabbit towards Gunnolf.
"I feel better...sorry for dragging you down."

Gunnolf nodded his thanks and ate the rest of the rabbit in a few gulps. When he finished it, he licked the scrapes off his muzzle and turned to Raffa.
"Don't worry about it, and I wouldn't have even bothered waiting for you if I didn't think you had potential."
Gunnolf stood and looked in the direction of the camp again.
"Ready to start moving again?"

Raffa smiled a little and watched Gunnolf scoff down the rabbit. He must have been hungry. The young neophyte didn't know what to think anymore. He had experienced a change from a mean old blood thirsting wolf to a caring...mentor. As Gunnolf asked to move on he cleared his throat and answered.
"Yeah. Sure. Cool."
Walking towards camp was much easier now that the rain wasn't clogging their view. Raffa kept puzzling a thought in his mind before he turned to Gunnolf. He wanted to ask his question but he thought it may be stupid.
"Um...ehh...what's wolf blood taste like?"

Gunnolf again stayed at Raffa's shoulder. He shrugged at the question. It had been so long since he had killed another wolf.
"Wolf blood tastes just like blood, warm and metallic. It's like the blood you taste when you lick your wounds."
He sighed with relief as the camp came into view and the warm scents came to his nose.
"Good, we're almost there."

Raffa nodded, eyes shining. He liked Gunnolf, except for the wolf blood drinking part. That freaked him out. Vampire wolves were kinda scary to Raffa, but he kept that to himself. Licking his fur as he walked, he spotted an elk in the distance. Freezing by instinct, he turned to Gunnolf.
"You see that?"
He whispered very softly and sniffed the air. Elks were scarce, especially in the winter.

Gunnolf nodded, eyes on the elk. It hadn't seen them, it was facing the other way, and they were downwind of it.
"Alright, let's take it down. I'll circle around to the front of it, you stay behind it and we'll trap it between us. Remember to stay downwind!"
He sank low to the ground and started moving around the elk, not taking his eyes off it for a fraction of a second.

Raffa nodded and slunk down, creeping towards the elk. The grass tickled his chin but he dare not laugh in case it would hear and flee, ruining his chances with Gunnolf. His eyes turned to little red slits, angry and determined. Stifling a grunt, he began to go towards the elk. Gunnolf was on the other side.
As it was closed in between the two and was just about to run to the side, Raffa let out a growl and jumped the highest he had ever, clearing the elk's backide and biting into the back of its neck. It feebly tried to escape. The elk was small, not full-grown, but it was still dangerous.

Gunnolf waited for the right moment to strike. As Raffa attacked, the elk reared back and tossed back its head as it cried out. Gunnolf's eyes flashed.
With amazing speed, the black and red wolf jumped and clamped his jaws down on the elk's throat. He hang on, ripping ad the elk tried to toss his off.
It was true, having your throat torn out would be a horrible way to go, but Gunnolf thought of the elk as only one thing: food.

Raffa smiled and leaped off the elk as it fell, eyes shining and muzzle speckled with blood. He watched in satisfaction as the elk slowly died of suffocation, grinning. His fate was unfolding before him. He could take down an elk if he really needed to...if only Gunnolf would escape with him.
"Nice..."
His wide grin faded as he triumphantly stepped upon the elk and over. His muscles bulged as he took it under the neck and chest.
"Lets carry it."

Gunnolf nodded, unable to speak. Killing the elk had gotten him excited, it was the biggest thing he'd killed in a long time, and it left him winded.
He picked up the rear half bit biting the backbone, careful not to crunch the bone. He nodded at Raffa to pick up the front half.

Raffa grinned. He slid under the front half of the body more and licked at its neck wound as he began to walk, tasting the leaking blood. It was salty, tangy like an orange. It tasted kind of like fish...he'd had that once before. He stopped licking at it as they entered the forest. Raffa spoke through gritted teeth as an antler dug into his chest.
"What was life like for you when you were neophyte age? Mine pretty much stinks."

Gunnolf made sure to keep an eye on Raffa as the carried their prize. He sighed at the younger wolf's question.
"At neophyte age, I killed my own family and was alone. I had already gained a bad reputation with fellow loners, and even the elders stayed out of my way. I was merciless and killed anyone even if I was simply bored. I took down anyone why didn't respect me or said one wrong word to me."
He paused and looked Raffa in the eye.
"I ruled by fear, and because they feared me, I was a threat. I fought off constant attacks and others ganged up on me while I was asleep. IF you plan to live like that if you ever run off, be careful. One mistake out there could cost you your life."
