"I'm so hungry!" howled Zabe, swishing his paws through the dark lake water. The first wolf I meet beats me up. The second one has food, but gets rid of it like a piece of garbage. Does everyone eat their food during the winter? There has to be someone with leftovers." A sudden gust of wind made Zabe jump. He sniffed the air and smiled when he scented another wolf and hare nearby.

Pandora walked out of the forest and towards the lake. She looked curiously at Zabe and sighed. I should give this hare to that loner, he does look hungry. But I came all the way out here to find food for my pack, not for a loner. But then again...it was easy catching this hare. Maybe I can find something else on my way home. She walked over to Zabe, then suddenly froze, sensing another wolf nearby...

[Njack]

"About time I get some action around here!" Kirana's head popped out of the lake, then shook, spraying droplets of water everywhere.

She treaded water near the side of the lake, unsure how deep it was, but not really caring. After all, she could just get on land if she got tired.

She eyed Zabe's paw warily, as it was about six inches away from her face.

"Hey." Kirana squinted. "Haven't I seen you before?"

"What the heck!" Zabe jumped up in surprise. He looked at the wolf in the lake a few times, blinked to clear his confuzzlement, and smiled. "Hello there. My name is Zabe and I'm fairly new to this area. Could you search that lake and get a fish for me? I'm sure will make great buddies!"

Pandora chuffed. There was no point in giving this to a wolf like him. He's just lazy, but I'm surprised he's not fat. She used the hare in her mouth to muffle her laugh, but then decided to just drop it at her paws. She looked at the wolf in the water. "Why are you swimming in a season like this? Do you want to get hypothermia or something? I swear, you loners get weirder and weirder everyday. I guess living alone must make you all go mad..." She glanced at Zabe. "Or just plain ridiculous."

[Njack]

Kirana blinked. "Yes, I know your name."

She yawned, almost dropping below the water level, but she bobbed back up as if nothing had happened. "Last I remember, you were hiding from the tornado. Not to say I wasn't."

Kirana cast a sidewards glance toward the other wolf. "Hypothermia? I'm not worried at all. I mean, I'm not going to drown or anythi-" She suddenly sank into the water with a splash, then burst up again, spitting up water. "Anything. See?"

Zabe scratched his ear, thinking. "Oh yea! And you're the one who scared away the prey I was chasing, right? I remember you." He smiled but a growl erupted deep in his throat. "Nice to see you again! How's things going for you?"

Pandora shook her head and sighed. "Idiot xing," she whispered to herself and Kirana. "You almost drowned and yet you continue to lallygag? What is wrong with you? I hope your toes get frost bite or your ears fall of from the cold from your ignorance. Gah, I can't take stupid wolves!" She crouched down low with her eyes closed tightly, trying to calm herself down.

[Njack]

"Stupidity is only a point of view, you know." Kirana blinked, then shrugged. "Whatever."

She "turned", if it could be called that, towards Zabe. It looked more like a cannonball strapped onto a flotation device attempting to change direction in the middle of the ocean, except with a wolf in a lake. After bobbing up and down a few times, she managed it.

"Things are going great." Kirana dipped her head in the water and blew a few bubbles, then rose up again. "It's not like I've died yet or anything. You?"

"Hungry," sighed Zabe at the same time his stomach growled. "Thank goodness spring is coming closer. What have you been eating all throughout winter? I could never find anything in this cold."

"Stupidity isn't a point of view," growled Pandora, eyes still closed. "Only stupid wolves, like you, say that because they can't handle the fact that they are stupid. They want to act smart by giving fictitious opinions against fact. Well guess what!" She opened one eye slightly. "Only stupid wolves think fictitious opinions are true and fact are false. Why don't you all you stupid loners go throw yourselves off a stupid cliff so you can live in the stupid Realm of Eternal Twilight. You'll be doing all of us pack wolves a favor."

[Njack]

"I seem to remember you just didn't want to chase the prey because you were lazy." Kirana seemed to find this somewhat amusing. "You know, you just find mice and rabbits and that sort of thing when you're lucky. Or you just eat a lot while you can and try to survive on what you've got."

She closed one eye, still paddling in the water. "I thought pack wolves thought they were moral sorts of beings. I don't see how encouraging suicide or whatever is helping that viewpoint." She bobbed up and down, meaning to shrug. "But as I said, whatever. If you want to think I'm stupid, by all means, go ahead."

[Kismet//Accalia]

"Ahem!" snorted Zabe. "I'm not lazy, I'm just..." He fell to the ground and howled in sudden pain. "Ah, my feet are to fragile for running too fast. The skin rips off the pawpads and it starts to bleed. I fainted once from loss of blood."

Pandora rolled her eye at bother of the wolves. "Moral support, hah! Where did you learn that from, or was that one of your stupid opinions? What size is your brain, a walnut. Hah hah!" She stood up and walked to the edge of the lake, a paw outstretched trying to knock Kirana down into the water.

[Njack]

She raised an eyebrow when Zabe yelped and grabbed his paw. "Okay. Somehow I don't quite-"

Kirana was going to say more, but then she spotted the other wolf approaching, paw out. With a quick splash, she was gone.

Or was she?

A few bubbles rose to the top of the lake and popped.

No, she was waiting for something. But what?

"What the heck..." Zabe looked at Kirana, then at Pandora. "What are you doing?"

"I'm going to keep my paw here until she drowns," smirked Pandora. "And if she acts smart and tries to resurface elsewhere, I'll jump in the lake and drag her out myself."

[Njack]

It was freezing below the water. Oh well. She was more concerned with her air supply to worry, anyway. Was that contradictory?

Kirana cut off her breathing sharply, ending the stream of bubbles that had been migrating to the surface. With a swift push of her legs (AKA a few flailing motions, then discovering how to paddle underwater), she cut through the water, ending up somewhere in the middle of the lake, but still underwater.

Her lungs were gasping for air. She would answer them.

A sparkling array of droplets against the glare of the sun emerged as her head, yet again, burst out of the water. She treaded water again, a little tired. Noticing the two wolves still on the bank, she watched them carefully, to see whether they would notice her.

It didn't matter either way. Did it?

"Ah, Run!" howled Zabe to Kirana. "This wolf's going to get you!"

Pandora slapped her paw across Zabe's head, knocking him into the water. Then she jumped into the water herself and swam after Kirana. She swam as graceful yet as quick as an otter. Her hindlegs kicked her forward in silence while her tail acted as a rudder. Her mouth was under the water, but her nose stayed above it so she could easily breathe.

[Njack]

"Hey! Low blow!" Kirana narrowed her eyes when the other wolf knocked Zabe into the water. "Alright, screw this. I may not put up much of a fight in arguments, but if she's asking for a real fight, she's getting it."

It was perhaps, an ill-advised decision, but Kirana stood by it. The coldness of the water seemed to vanish as she kicked off once again, moving through the lake.

Towards Pandora.

I mean, what can she do? Drag me out? Drown me? Yeah, right.

Zabe struggled to get out of the water, not being much of a good swimmer. "Go Kirana! After you win, we'll have a feast!" But she'll be catching all the food, of course, he thought to himself.

Pandora was smiling now. She dove under water till she reached the bottom of the lake. She was good at holding her breath for a Destinian wolf. She used to be known as 'otter wolf' when she was younger, but no one called her that anymore because it seemed pupish. She could wait under water for long amounts of time if Kirana really wanted to get at her....
