((This is for the wolves of the Sheeran search patrol, any Blood Misties, or anybody else wanting to join in on some plottage )) The she-wolf led her patrol through the dense underbrush, the greenery moist and wetting her silver underbelly. The night was a releif from the blaring heat of day, drizzled and laced with dew, but a different brand of heat sizzled through the windings of the she-wolf's mind. She peered across the grasses, dipping and swaying into terras unknown. She turned back to her comrades, beckoning to them with a nod of her head and a swish of her tail. Their enemies had walked along these lands...lands they as Sheerans knew pitifully little about. We might not be residents here....but we know the basic limits of pack territory. We're neighbors...we should know these territories better than we do. Well, I suppose it's an unlawful practice unless needed. These are free roamer lands. Well...they may not be free roamer lands for long if these enemies are marking their lands. She blinked to the other Sheerans, voice a low whisper. "We should split into groups and howl if there's trouble or if we find something big. That way we can cover more ground faster. We shouldn't take too long on this first scout -- we can come back in a few nights and do another sweep if needed." Luma waited for her wolves to gather.

((oo, I have plenty Hellfirians on standby for this… *evil grin*))
Tall blades of wild grass brushed the limbs of the wolves trekking through the plains, eyes shifting from side to side. Alertness gave way to paranoia, and even the rustling of a neighboring Sheeran’s footfalls could be interpreted as a threat. Coop was especially edgy, tips of dried weeds grazing his forelegs, causing a burning desire to itch. While his brother struggled to resist the urge, Dallas looked on, ears concentrated on every noise and eyes focused on every movement. He turned his head sharply when a voice reached his senses, and he nodded curtly when Luma had finished her piece. Nudging Coop with his nose (to get him to pay attention), Dallas murmured, “How many groups? Three or so groups of two or three, maybe?” So this is where the ‘buddy system’ comes in…

((XD Rabid! If Moonset posts here and lets Eurasia come into the thread she could possibly show Featherswift how Baine and the blood mists' aren't that bad. 0.0 her being now an elite guard. This will defiantly be a fun thread with lots of possible ideas))
Featherswift followed as the her paws crunched the grass, silently as possible. A breeze blew by towards them, keeping their scent away from whatever was in front of them. "I agree with you Luma," she nodded to what the silver wolf had said. She knew nothing of the territory or surroundings. A group was a good idea for an area so big. Featherswift looked around at everything under the night sky. It was so big compared to them. They had to be extra careful now. Looking around, she waited for Gade, hoping he was safe and that the trek here hadn't gotten him captured.

"Hey. I'm here." Knot padded in. His eyes traveled slowly around the group, as if wondering who would accept him into a group. He wasn't that new, but he didn't really know anyone, either.
"I think there are other wolves nearby. I thought I saw a wolf darting into the darkness a little while away. Strange, though. He seemed to be heading for the packlands."
(On a off-topic note, I still don't understand what to do with Ligua.)

(*rubs paws together* soo many things could happen. Sounds good, Featherswift. Idk if Moonset knows about this thread...maybe PM her?) Luma nodded, scanning the expanse of land through cautious eyes. She swallowed hard, pulse beating slightly faster than normal. The enormity of what they were about to do was dawning on her now, as she gazed at the unfamiliar trees and grasses. "Three groups...we'll meet back here as soon as we see the sky lighting. Featherswift can take one group...take Coop with you, Featherswift. Knot, you can lead another group, and I'll take one too....Gade, you can go with Knot....Dallas, you come with me. Am I missing anyone?" She blinked around the group of wolves behind her.

Dallas bowed his head in acknowledgement, accepting the orders without protest. Although he secretly wanted to keep an eye on his brother, he trusted that Featherswift would help keep him in line. He caught Coop's eye for a moment, giving his sibling a stern look that read Don't do anything stupid! before returning his attention to Luma. Coop rolled his eyes in response to his brother's glare, and padded over to join Featherswift at her side. Dallas scanned through the crowd of wolves, looking for anyone they may have missed. "What about Quickfyre?"((Quickfyre volunteered as well, right? if not, just pretend Dallas didn't say anything ))

((^^ k I will))
Featherswift was astonished that she was allowed to be a leader of a group. This was the first time she was picked out of wolves in her pack like this. It made her happy to be looked on like this. "Okay, Luma," she replied to the silver one. She watched as Coop went to her side and waited for where to search. She was disappointed though to not have Gade with her instead. She knew him more than Coop. He defiantly could fight and she could trust him. Oh well she thought as she sighed.

(( lol, she split up the familiars on purpose xD Idk, Quickfyre hasn't posted since the first thread, but neither has Moonset...I'll put her in here just in case she comes back =] ))
Luma nodded, tail beckoning to Quickfyre. "She can come with us. All right...Featherswift, take the western portion, Knot, go towards the east, and I'll take the central area. Come back when the sky starts to lighten, even if it's only slightly. Be aware and alert at all times, howl if you find something drastic. If you can't without drawing attention to yourself, or you think there's more to it, maybe hold out until we meet up. All right....roll out!" She struck up a swift pace through the swaying grasses, aiming towards the heart of the Bitterwind Valley. I hope I'm doing the right thing...what if somebody gets hurt? Well, I've got to focus. We all do. We need to make the most of this time so we don't have to come back without a better, more prepared force...I don't want to have to scout again, even though we probably will.

Knot blinked as he was assigned a group of his own. "Geez, I dunno if I can do this..." he muttered to himself. "Ah well..."
He beckoned to the spot where he thought Gade had been, and trotted off to the eastern part of the loner lands.
"I wonder what we'll find," Knot continued murmuring to himself. "I don't know what we want to find..." Images of snarling wolves and bloody battles ran through his mind.
(Huh. Who decides what they find? I'm rather confused.)

( *shrug* we all make it up. Throw random wolves and things in here and complicate things ) Luma nodded to Dallas and Quickfyre, then plunged towards the centerpiece of the terra under investigation. She kinda felt like a super-spy agent, but we won't get into hidden dreams of wolven warriors right now. She peered around through the dark underbrush, nose sniffing constantly for the trademark burning scent of soot and fire that marked the pelts of their enemies. It was a strange smell, Luma remembered. One like none other I've ever scented...it literally burned your nostrils to inhale that... She eyed the ground through narrow, watchful eyes for any marks of pawsteps in the soft dirt. The scent was here, definitly ; it marked the area in soft tendrils, as if they had been passing through...

(( ^^ funny sivveh....we all stay in this thread correct? and make up what our wolves are doing somewhere else in this thread?))
Featherswift nodded and looked toward Coop. "Let's go," she said and turned westward. No scent so far. Maybe the wind was scattering the scent. It was at least a couple of hours since the pack mates were taken. She smelled a bush nearby. Only rabbit scent hung on to it. Looking towards Coop she asked,"Anything yet?" A light breeze came, lifting up dirt and scattered leaves. Her copper fur blew with it. The wind created an eerie feeling. What wolf in their right mind would go LOOKING for Hellfirians?

Knot sniffed the ground in front of him, then glanced around. "Dang. Should have asked what they smelled like first..." he muttered. "Ah well, I'm sure it's nothing like I've ever smelled before."
So far, nothing quite out of the ordinary. Knot wondered if Gade was still following him.
(I haven't got any evil wolves to throw at people :< )

(I'm kind of confused on what Eurasia is supposed to do, but sure, I'm down with it. Sorry I haven't been here. I didn't know about it, and then I kind of got busy. )
Gade padded to Knot's side. He didn't know the wolf at all, and he was struggling not to turn around and run to Featherswift, because he was terrified that she wouldn't be safe. The thought of Hellfire wolves tearing her skin apart nearly tore him. You wouldn't want to imagine the pain he was feeling just thinking of Featherswift and her not being at his side. "Wait!" He said. Gade smelled something familiar. A smell he had known the very first day he came here. Before the Twilight clearing fight. Before his hunting trip with Featherswift. The name tore him again. Before now, it was his very first day in the Sheeran Pack. But something was missing from it. It no longer contained the beautiful aroma of mixed herbs and leaves, but it held a rotten stench, a scared, hungry, and lonely scent to it. "I know that smell, that's...." He held his breath, drawing in the last wiff. Then he froze, startled.
"Why, it's Eurasia's scent!"

(Knot is confused, because I forgot to throw him into the battle. He doesn't even know of Eurasia's treachery yet, I think. Also, I think that Eurasia's supposed to meet Featherswift or something... I'm not sure.)
Knot raised an eyebrow. "You mean the herb healer? What's she doing out here?" He sniffed the ground again, picking up that odd scent that Gade had smelled.
"She smells different somehow... The scent doesn't seem too fresh. Let's keep looking around and if we meet her, maybe she'll have some information for us."
He looked back at Gade, wondering what he would suggest.

"Yes it does." he agreed. "You're right though. We shouldn't get off track. Our goal is to find Missing." Then he glanced at Knot. "You mean you don't know what she did? Eurasia is an exile. She killed a Sheeran warrior. Moonset, I think."
Alone. Scared. Regrettful and sorry. These all describe exactly how Eurasia felt right now. She was sure the rumor of her sin had spread not only through the Sheeran Pack by now, but through the whole of the terras. Today was a Moonless Meeting, she knew that, and the Packs gathered today to discuss certain things, such as the previous battle in which the Hellfirians attacked, and in which Eurasia killed her fellow Pack mate. She still couldn't even remember why she'd done it, and she guessed that the anger or smell of battle overwhelmed her. Eurasia hadn't gotten any sleep from the past few days, simply being haunted by a voice that was carried in the winds. Moonset's voice, she thought, but I know it's all just in my head, right? Paranoia was raging through her, and lack of sleep didn't help it at all. She'd nearly lost her mind, in fact. The hair off her back was falling out, and every pawstep or pebble falling made her jump. There were red blood vains popping up every where in the white part of her eyes, and she no longer looked like the pretty fae she started out as. Of course she was still approachable, not totally hideous, but any wolf could tell up close that something was wrong. The only thing Eurasia waited for now was to die.
