My mom just had surgery to get her gallbladder out a few days ago. The recovery time is pretty short, but for the next week or so, she can't lift or bend or anything like that, and she's really tired. My dad works and so does my sister, so it's mainly me taking care of her. We also have a dog who tends to be a little high-strung, so I have to take care of him, too, which I normally do anyway. Last night, I brought him in from playing and he was walking really weird. I took him outside again when a neighbor came over because he gets really excited when other people are around. The neighbor dog got loose of her leash and ran into our yard, and they started playing. At one point, they collided and rolled down the little slope in our backyard. He came in limping really bad, so my dad and I took him to the animal hospital.
He limped for a while there, but when the doctor finally checked him (it was a ginormous waiting time btw =P ...and the waiting room was freakishly freezing) he was walking normal, so she said just to watch it and give him pain meds. He didn't break his leg or anything but his shoulder was kinda popping a little bit. We took him home and he walked normal, but then he held it straight out again and started whimpering really bad. We called the vet back but they said to just watch it and see if he does it again tomorrow (it was really late at night at this point). Well, he hasn't been limping at all today, but now he's supposed to rest it, so no playing or anything.
In other things, I have two summer assignments I have yet to complete, and cross country is starting soon (which I won't be able to run for the next few days =\ ) and registration and stuff, moving my sister back up to college --- in other words, things are beyond "busy" or "occupied". I'll try really hard to get on at least a few times a week, but right now it looks like it'll be a while before I'll be active again.
I really appreciate people who've been keeping things going while I've been gone in the past week or so -- keep it going, guys! Thanks to Moonset for her kind words of encouragement, though I don't have time to answer her nice PM at the moment. I guess stay upbeat and plot your hearts away -- Wolfie and Flisk are in charge, and Acca's good for answering any questions, too.
Thanks,
Siv
