The sky was a deep navy, stars twinkling into the Twilight sky. Jet was unable to fall asleep as the light show went on and on. Once he spotted a shooting star, but no matter how interesting it got, nothing could take away his drowsiness. Yes, he was tired, but for some reason he wouldn't let himself sleep. His paws dangled off the edge of the cave, his maw pointed up and his tail slowly sweeping the ground. Jet wondered if he was alone in this cave. Of course not. Everyone was in this cave, sleeping as he stared into the sky. What a big world it was, empty yet full, sad yet fascinating. But his mind kept wandering to his previous family. What could he do without them? Of course, he didn't have a favor for his brother and father, but they were family, for crying outloud! They were never there for him, but he would be there for them. After all he'd been treated by them he still loved them...Sort of... And how he missed them. A shuffling noise came from the cave, but Jet ignored them. All he could do was stare into the night sky, awestruck by the stars. They seemed to grow, and get closer and closer to him...

The quiet yet audible shuffling of pawsteps sounded from the camp clearing, a bundle of silver-blue plush shifting into the shadows. The figure was rather small, even for a female, but continued to press onward despite her puny size. As she advanced, the young wolf’s fur bristled in the light, the lively fluff of hair around her neck identifying her as a pup. Well, she was at age to graduate to neophyte status, but with or without her upcoming ceremony, the pup features still remained. Curious (aren’t all pups?) with the sight of another wolf sitting all alone, Natoma lowered her body, slunk forward, and pounced onto Jet’s back. “Hiya!”

And then a star fell out of the sky and landed on his back! No, just kidding, but he thought it was for a second. "AHHH!" He hollered, quickly throwing his tail over his mouth, careful not to wake up anyone sleeping. As he looked up to see who had made the booming voice in his ear, he noticed a fluffy and cute wolf standing on his back. Right now he was overwhelmed with drowsiness, so the last thing he wanted to do was talk or play with this pup. What was a pup doing out so late anyways? Still, he didn't want to chase her away or scold her, in fact, he wouldn't mind falling to sleep now and letting her stay on his back. Jet didn't recognize the pup, simply because he didn't spend much time around the nursery, but the pup was definately close to being a neophyte. It kind of surprised him that she wasn't a neophyte yet, considering that she was so heavy. "Um, hi." He muttered sleepily.

Giggling quietly at the wolf’s reaction, the young she-wolf shook her pelt, her indigo pelt highlighted with the silver reflection of the moon. She didn’t quite recognize the wolf, but decided that it didn’t matter; as long as it was someone to entertain her. “What’s your name?” she inquired, her voice ringing with the innocence that all young pups possess. As she spoke, however, she remembered something, and swiftly cast a glance at the neighboring wolves. She silently shifted her eyes, searching for the shape of her father amongst the masses, but was ultimately unable to distinguish the outlines of one wolf to the next. I hope he’s alright… as long as I don’t wake him up, though, I shouldn’t have any trouble talking to this guy. “Why are ya awake, all by yourself?” Natoma yipped cheerily, adopting a softer tone so as to not disturb the dozing wolves.

((Is this open? If not, disregard my post xD))
Melina glanced up to the sky, finishing up a nice sized rabbit. As she finished the salty snack, hot blood pouring down her throat, the pack leader gave a little smile, to nobody in particular. Things were getting much better after the recent battles. The wolves were slowly getting over their losses, and Freya seemed to be farther from mind then she was. The neophytes were training to be stronger, the pups play fighting with eachother. As Melina dug a claw into the spongy earth, she listened closely to the drifting silence around her. It was nice to have the night to herself. It was so peaceful. Just like-
"AHHH!"
The cream colored wolf hopped to her paws as she heard a yell. It became mysteriously quiet and Melina eyed the cave where it came from suspiciously. Sighing, the new alphess arched her back to stretch and padded over to it, head held high. Her eyes scanned the inside before she heard two voices. Ah. Jet and Natoma. Melina reached her head into the cave and gave a questioning look through the darkness.
"What's all the noise about?"

(nah, It's okay. ^^)
Before Jet could answer, he turned his head to notice Melina, the pack leader, standing there. "What's all the noise about?" "Excuse me, Melina. I was just startled by... her." He said, flicking his tail up to the fluffy creature on his back. "I apologize. I didn't mean to... scream." He said it shamefully, quite embarrassed by his screaming, especially that the alphess had heard. She was hardly recognizable in the darkness, and he wondered if Melina could even see him. After all, she was cream, he was pitch black. She must have recently eaten something... Warily, Jet shrugged, trying to get Natoma off his back. Right now she was getting uncomfortable.
(Sorry it's so short =))

Melina nodded, now able to identify where Natoma was. On Jet's back. Of course. She shook her head, stifling a bit of bubbly laughter. Neophytes were sometimes the funniest wolves around camp, but they could also be the most annoying. Especially at this hour when neophytes should be asleep. Shaking her head, she stepped around some of the sleeping wolves over to Natoma. Eyeing her with a tint of anger glinting through her pupils, Melina picked her up by the scruff and set her down beside Jet.
"Natoma, may I ask why you jumped on Jet's back?"
Melina disapprovingly sat, obviously staying for longer than a few seconds. Most of the wolves were still asleep, some of them snoring obnoxiously. Itching her snout with a paw, Melina waited with a raised brow for an explanation.

The sharp tone of another wolf interrupted their conversation, and a grimace automatically melted onto Natoma's features. Busted. Warily readjusting her position, her eyes widened further when she recognized the speaker as none other than the Siverian Alphess. Uh oh... Unable to speak, the young fae watched as Maline approached the two and slipped her jaws around Natoma's withers. Gently dividing the two wolves, Maline then dropped Natoma at Jet's side and demanded an explanation. Opting to avoid the question a minute longer, Natoma instead glanced over her shoulder, searching for the sound, shape, and scent of her father. I hope he didn't hear us. But the crowd of bodies were identical in the dim light, and she sighed in defeat. Besides, for all I know, Dad might have had to stay in the Healer's den overnight... Reluctantly returning her attention to Maline, Natoma murmured, "I couldn't sleep, so I decided to practice my hunting skills. Jet was already awake, so... he made a good target." She offered a small, weak grin at the word "target".

Melina nodded when Natoma's reply slipped out of her mouth. She stifled a bout a laughter, for it was quite cute how she was saying things, and instead let a small woof out, acknowleging the neophyte's answer. Melina herself quickly pondered over this, remembering how she would spend many sleepless nights pacing the camp, pouncing on dry leaves. Her cream fur ruffled as she poked her pink tongue out, swiping it over her lips and sucking it back in through her fangs.
"And you thought it right to keep another dog up as well?"
She whispered softly, her soothing voice causing several wolves who were awake to lay their heads down. She blew a strand of fur out of her eye and smiled, waiting for Natoma's next excuse.
