San Francisco, California. A bustling urban city filled with all sorts of people coming and going. They mostly keep to themselves, not paying much attention to anyone or anything that has nothing to do with their own life. One would think this might be a good thing and while it has been for quite some time in the past, is no longer such. People's ignorance of their city and those around them has allowed for the breeding of a new species walking among the streets, unnoticed by normal people. Werewolves. Lycanthorpes, as some might say. They roam the streets as if their kind have been there forever. No, this place is not for all shape-shifting kind. This is merely the place for those teens, pups in their terms, that have been cast out or made by those whom were cast out of bigger packs outside of the city. Now having this many teenage werewolves running the streets would typically be problematic right? Killings left and right? But no this is not the case at all.
Within the city, there resides two boarding high schools, Pariah High and Alsace High. These high schools each have a pack lurking within their depths. Each pack contains one alpha, or leader, one beta, or second in command, one gamma, or third in command, and quite the amount of subordinates. Alongside these positions, each pack has it's own symbol which each member bears proudly about their necks on a shift-binding necklace. Without these necklaces not only is each and every werewolf susceptible to shifting upon severe mood changes, but the packs get mixed up because quite the contrast to older werewolves and werewolf packs outside of the city, they have no scent differences from one another unless in werewolf form.
Now seeing as two packs live within one city, you know there is constant conflict for territory and the like. Confrontations popping up everywhere. Indeed this is the case, but the founders of each pack, the alphas, have settled on rules despite their hatred for one another. Without rules there would be chaos. Even hot-blooded teenage werewolves can see that. The rules are as follows:
1. When recruiting pack members that are not originally werewolves, the person or persons whom is/are going to be added have to be completely willing and knowing of what their getting into. Certain instances bring around exceptions to this rule.
2. No shape-shifting in heavily populated areas.
3. Absolutely no revealing to the human public of the other pack's shape-shifting ability.
4. Without a doubt no fighting in public places unless it is practically unavoidable.
5. No killing humans unless it's for the protection of the packs' secret.
These may seem like trivial rules, but if they were not in place the human public would have found out about what they were long ago and thus today would not be here for these teens. The alphas strictly enforce these rules, so be wise not to break them. Can you handle the pressure of being in a pack such as these? Or is it perhaps your just a harmless human standing by and watching as these packs, or rather gangs in the eyes of the public, go after one another? Maybe your even someone who knows about the secret and is determined to stop the meaningless territory fights between the two. Whoever it is you might be, can you live out day to day life in a city such as this or will you perish among the bright lights and thick crowds? Only time will tell my friend, so welcome to San Fran and the best of luck to you.
