Carolina dipped her head, ears twitching at the angry comment, but managed a small smile. "Don't worry yourself too much over her. She's always been like this. Nobody knows exactly what happened to her but....something did." She followed Burn Note at a light jog, not really in a rush, but still feeling that pull. "She's acted out like this before," she added, "But I think it's getting worse as she gets older." Poor Fireflight doesn't know what to do with her, even. She refuses to attend any training sessions and screeches at anyone who tries to get close or help her. I wonder what did happen to her when she was younger...everybody knows she just changed one day but....I wonder. "I just hope she doesn't get herself hurt again," Carolina woofed. "She also has a knack for finding trouble. Obviously she's a great bother, but nobody thinks she'll really stay with the Destinians much longer, so that's a plus."
A good ways away, Phobia continued at a mad sprint, eyes ahead and searching determindly for her destination.

BurnNote flicked an audit toward her, and slowed down to jog beside her. "I'm beginning to wonder if that really is a plus." Expecting a curious look, she continued. "Hear me out. What I mean is...What if leaving the Destinian Pack is going to be the end of her. I mean...her destruction." She fell silent for a moment, staring at the ground as they moved steadily through the foliage after the crazed femme. "I honestly don't want her hurt, and I don't feel right with myself because it's because of my lovely outburst that sent her into a mad sprint." Flashbacks. Her chasms closed for a moment as she took a steady breath, and then opened them once again. She glanced at her newly made friend, and said "So, where do you think she's heading?"
The breeze was still gone. This wasn't good.

( Ooooh this could get good ;D )
Carolina sighed softly, troubled thoughts on her mind. "I know exactly what you mean," she woofed sadly. "Fireflight has tried so many times to get through to her, different mentors, working with her one-on-one....nothing works. I even tried to mentor her once, but that didn't last long. She's only shown a liking for one wolf, and that's the troublemaker of the pack, Raffa -- and he doesn't even have insanity as his excuse." Thoughtfully, she added, "She's a lot like a senior with dimensia or memory loss. If we let her wander off, you're right, she won't be able to take care of herself." She took a whiff of the air, but it was stale tasting; she could scent Phobia, but it was very faint without the winds to give them direction. "I can't really tell where she went from here, but from what I saw I think we're headed in the right direction."

BurnNote didn't answer as she looked down thoughtfully. She knew how that was. She decided to bring up her past. Perhaps it had a...link to something. "Yes, well. I can understand in some sense that something had happened to her during her childhood. She paused as they crossed a stream, the water soaking her white under belly. As they came to the bank she looked down. Paw prints. She was actually a pretty amazing tracker. Came from her father. "She came this way. And then,"She didn't have the breeze to help her on this one, but she was pretty sure. 99.9% sure, that is. "Went that way. To the west." She said this because the bushes to just the west of the river were in ruins. It had to be Phobia. "Anyways, as I was saying earlier, something could have happened. When I was young, my mother and father one night came rushing into the den. My mother grabbed me, clipping me with one of her fangs right above my eye. It was so sudden. So unexpected. I never did find out what they had been running from, but it's as if it always finds me. It hasn't been able to find me since Ashton found me, and I came to this pack. But the feeling get's stronger each day. The...eeire feeling. It makes me wanna jump through the roof or something." She sighed, flicking an audit toward her.
(I know right?)

Carolina listened this time and said little. She kept one ear inclined towards BurnNote, and the other swiveling slightly in search of Phobia. She, too, was beginning to note a pawprint here and there, set in the mud where the earth was softer. She sniffed again; the winds were still poor for tracking, but Phobia's scent clung to the undergrowth around them. She looked up from the earth and sure enough; the brush had been trampled through. A flicker of surprise passed through Carolina's eyes as she listened to BurnNote's story. I wonder if she's got a bit of crazy in her too. Well, at I guess everyone does maybe or something, but at least she's not like Phobia. I wonder what that thing withe her parents was all about. Suddenly, she felt obligated to share a bit of her past with Burn. "I didn't have so much trauma when I was younger...well, I did, but not exactly in the same manner. My mother died during the birthing, but I still had my dad and brother...sort of. My dad was never really healed after that, I think. I obviously can't compare it to how he was before her death, but he always had a sadness about him. He died crossing the mountains...and my brother faded away long ago. I made a new family when I took a mate and had pups, but....he disappeared, too." She frowned deeply, but the sadness was only temporary. She then offered a rueful smile to BurnNote. "I wonder how far she ran -- she set off at a sprint."
Still far ahead of the searchers, Phobia walked along the specific trail that she had found earlier; a scent trail. A trail of markers, that is.

BurnNote was surprised by the other fae's sudden explaination of her past. She listened, nodding her head once or twice but was on the whole utterly quiet. BurnNote glanced toward her once more, and then looked ahead her. She had angered the wind. That's why they couldn't pick up the scent of Phobia. The air was stale because it was angry. It had given BurnNote a gift long ago, and now it was punishing her. The only way to make things right were to find Phobia. She shook her head, and took a shaky breath. "My mother...died trying to get me to safety. She could escame whatever they were running from. She had used all her strength, but ended up falling. My dad carried me the rest of the way, and left me with a widowed elder of a different pack that ws destroyed. My father didn't even say goodbye. He just..left." Lighting cracked over head. Rain. "Dammit."
Tracking her in this would be near to impossible. That is, if they didn't find her soon.

"I'm so sorry---"Lightning sizzled in the angry skies. Carolina looked up to see the heavens bruised with stormclouds. And then, the rain poured down in a heavy, thick shower that gushed over the forestlands with fiendish enthusiasm. You've got to be kidding me. For a moment, Carolina simply stared up in disbelief. Really? Of all things that could happen, rain? The wind didn't really matter now; the water would do away with any traces of the trail in mere seconds. Suddenly, something in her brain clicked, and Carolina blinked back at BurnNote with panicked eyes. "She's afraid of storms....Phobia is terrified of lightning and thunder and....oh God...." Somewhere in the night, a terrible, high-pitched wail tunneled through the sounds of rain and thunder.
The devil's whip cracked mercilessly through the stars. Phobia froze in her romp along the borderline, and gazed up at the skies. Her eyes bulged with fear as the rain cascaded down and plastered her pelt to her skin. A slow, growing tremor began in her body and rattled her violently. No...no...I need them to find me. I need to give them my message before I go... "Devils....stay at bay. KEEP AWAY!"
A ways away from Phobia, watching with keen eyes in the brush on the other side of this borderline, a dark wolf smiled with cunning.

The rain was hitting her pelt harshly, and the wind whipped into her being, causing her to yelp. It was sharp. It was angry. Really angry. She blinked her chasms, and was about to say that they should find shelter when she heard the blood curling scream. She looked at Carolina, and then took off. She had to get to Phobia. She had to. Her titanium like muscles propelled her forward, making her cut through the relentless wind. She didn't have a chose. Oh, god. She had to get there before it was too late. The wind howled in her ears, calling her foolish among other things. The lightning cracked above the fae as she moved blindly through the storm, until... She hit the edge of the cliff, but couldn't stop. She went tumbling down the side of the cliff, her body looking like a rag doll. She hit the bottom with a grunt, but forced herself to get up. She turned into a lope, and ran for Phobia. She could smell her now. And other presense. Evil?

"Burn! WAIT!" Carolina growled darkly under her breath and swore as BurnNote took off like lightning. Well, I don't really have a choice. I was gonna suggest we pick up the pace a bit but,...yeah. Here goes nothing! Bunching her muscles, Carolina leaped into a sprint and darted into the woods after her friend. As far as strength went, Carolina was not the typical muscular, fighter-build. Instead, she was long, lean, and lanky. Even in her mad dash through the woods, there was something graceful about her frantic race. Her heart fluttered nervously as BurnNote dropped from view entirely; down the edge of small cliffside. God, please be okay... Crouching once more, she launched herself from the earth in a powerful bound over the rocky edge. She landed in the same position, crouched on all fours, though her legs throbbed painfully from the jump. Panting heavily, she looked around for BurnNote and found her loping away, towards the farthest reach of the terra. "Burn! Wait for me!" She hissed with frustration. I like having a plan. This girl runs off at the slightest impulse! The rain continued on in steady downpour as Carolina caught up with Burn. "What the hell was that?" Then suddenly, her blood went cold and her head snapped towards the small break between their copse of woods and the next. "Someone's out there, I can see movement. We're awfully close to the edge of our terra. We'd better be prepared for an enemy..."

BurnNote blushed slightly, and said "Sorry Carolina. I didn't mean to scare the shit out of you. It's just...the pull. There's a pull." She crouched on all fours, army crawling toward the center of movement. The grass didn't provide much cover, but it was something. She moved with easy, fluid movements. She had a plan. Be there for Phobia even if it meant getting torn to shreads. That was one thing she knew. Flashback. It was the day she found out that there was a strange wolf scouting their area. She had been crouching on the terra much like she was now. He looked strange. His jowls were open, tasting the air as he moved just on the other end of their territory. So, technically, he wasn't doing anything wrong. He was just strolling, and there was nothing border patrol could have done. He wasn't on their side. Anyways, he had this crazy glint in his eyes... She broke from the flashback as she reached the shelter of bushes. There was just enough cover for her to peer through, and glare at Phobia, and then..
Something evil. She couldn't put her paw on it, but it was evil. She glanced behind her, and motioned with her head that Carolina should join her. Oh, dear gods. Please help us. No response.

There was a small rustle in the brush; Carolina whirled around and crouched in a defensive pose. Come and get me! Her pulse was racing in her ears like a metronome. Every hair on her body stood on end with anxiety, fear, tension, hostility. The unknown loomed over them, waiting to snatch them away. Perhaps not to snatch them, but something, someone was watching them besides Phobia. There was more rustling on the other side of the Destinian border; Carolina looked up to see dark shapes moving in the woods. "Burn, we --" "GRARRRRRR!" Phobia flung herself from the brush and lunged for Carolina's face. The other wolf had no time to react; Like a rabid squirrel, Phobia scratched rapidly at Carolina's face before dislodgeing and sprinted quickly away. She pelted across the Destinian border, into loner terra -- towards the moving shapes in the other copse of woodlands. Relishing in her perfectly executed escape, Phobia threw her head over her shoulder and stuck her tongue out at those hideous Destinians.
Carolina snarled darkly, slowly but surely losing her temper with the mad wolf. "Enough is enough, I'm getting her back and then we're getting gone!" Determindly, she marched across the border to retrieve Phobia.

BurnNote cringed as she watched Phobia attack Carolina brutally. She growled slightly, watching as Phobia took off across the border. She was staring at Carolina, and said "Are you alright?" She moved nimbly over to her friend, and fell into step beside her. She marched on right beside her, but said no more. Well, yet that is. Finally, she broke the silence and said "Carolina, I think we should be more prepared next time. Just in case she decides to attack us again." She said softly, shooting her a side glance.

The moment Carolina and Burn stepped over the borderline, something stirred in the woodlands. Three lithe figures drew away from their cover of the woods and stalked with heads held high out into the open. The lead and center was a pitch-colored femme. On her left flank was a muscular, similarly-colored male, and to her right was a russet femme. Together, they greeted the intruders with murderous snarls. "This is Blood Mist Territory! Get out or we fight to kill!" They hulked forward towards Burn and Carolina.
Suddenly, she froze in her pursuit. Mouth a gape, she gave disbelieving sniff of the air. "Blood Mist," she cursed darkly. We have to get out of here. We'll survive, sure, but not without injury, and most defintiely not on the offensive. They outnumber us. Forget Phobia, she's probably with them anyway. "We should go, like now."

She had started to back up with her friend, about to say there must have been an misunderstanding when she lay eyes upon the male. He had the same build as the male that had been snoopy around where he didn't belong. A low growl had erupted from her, audits pinned flat against her skull. Her skull lowered slightly, her body held rigidly. Leave! The wind suddenly urged, howling and pushing against Carolina and BurnNote. She couldn't move. She willed herself to move, but could not bring herself to it.Her muscles were bunched up, her chasms ravenous. She wasn't pleased with these wolves. Go, now! It urged again, and this time BurnNote payed no heed.
--She can't move. Besides...it gives us something to do. xD

Damn!Carolina watched with growing dread as her friend tensed and went rigid like stone. Her eyes darted anxiously back and forth between the frozen Burn and the Blood Mist wolves who were coming steadily closer. Dark snarls curled off the lips of their incoming enemies. Carolina blinked back to BurnNote one last time in desperation, but she already knew what she would see; Burn was still locked in a pose of defensive hostility. I guess I'll have to divert their attentions until she gets her wits back a bit. Carolina turned back to the task at hand with a heavy heart. Blood Mist destroyed my family...they stole my childhood. She gave the fur of her chest a quick lick, and then strode forward to meet the Blood Mist wolves. She walked her tail high, but nothing about her pose suggested an attack. She stopped about a yard in front of the three and dipped her head casually. In a cool voice with hints of steel, Carolina addressed them. "I'm sorry, did you say Blood Mist territory? We were unaware you had plans to claim anything; you don't share a common heritage anymore, it seemed like you were a very rough organization."Regulus, Arachna, and Snare all narrowed their eyes suspiciously at Carolina's approach. Snare snarled and lurched forward but the others signaled her to hold back. "She'd be an idiot to start a fight now, it would be the death of her, Snare," Regulus chided. They listened as Carolina made her speech. Idly, Arachna kneaded her claws into the ground. She chuckled darkly after the packwolf had finished. Fighting with barbed words instead of claws, are we?"It seems the packs are more unaware of their surroundings than we thought. That's something you might want to work on; it's sort of a vulnerability, don't you think?"(Ik, I just had to have her freak out a little cause they're outnumbered )
