Post-by-post stories unfold, weaving a tale of destruction and rebirth. Together, the great cats of the world, in their secluded sanctuaries and dwindling numbers, watched the as the earth around them was painted scarlet by the blood of their neighbors. Man's reach far extended his available resources, and Earth suffered the consequences of such greed. Forests were burned, plains upturned and mountains came crumbling down -- still Man was not satisfied. Elusive, the cats shrank farther into the ever growing darkness that had become their world, alone and already forgotten until there was simply nothing left but ruins. A world caved in by starvation of every kind, Man's hand, driven by greed and self-ambition, turned upon its master. The cats watched with weary hearts, but were grateful to have, in some way, escaped such a fate simply by having already walked that line of non-existence. Nearly all that remained, and already few in numbers, the felines put personal differences behind them. Within the strangely comforting darkness of Earth's shadow, they came together as a single entity -- from the mountains and the forest, from the open plains and quiet places, to a place uniquely their own. Slowly, Earth has rebuilt itself within the walls of this sanctuary known as Eclypticus, taking what little had gone unscathed and patiently replenishing the shadow realm. As the world develops, the cats are more frequently reminded of whence they came, and the subtle - and not so subtle - differences that kept them who and what they were before the darkness. There is a growing tension within the sanctuary, as some of the cats begin to section themselves off, once more becoming their own kind. Rumors are spreading rapidly that certain sects plan an uprising -- a support system for the former food chain, some would say. Survival of the fittest as a fight to gain the upper hand struggles against the desire to maintain the peace.
