Luna's father had told to come here to stay with the alpha female, who was like a mother to her. Luna walked in the cave and looked for Kasie. She sat down and waited for her to come. She gave a big yawn and made a soft noise. She layed down and blinked her eyes tiredly. She tried to stay awake while she waited for her mother figure to come. She flickered her silvery grey ears and moved her golden eyes. She was used to being in this cave. Everytime her father had to do something for the pack she either came here and stayed with her two best friends.

Ashlyn and Everett were in no mood for playing.
The two wolves, nearly neophytes now, padded around the camp with forlorn expressions on their faces. Today marked the three month mark since their mother, Winter, had gone missing. It had started when summer was still flourishing across the land, and Winter had gone to fetch food and water for Missing, who had escaped after a period of capture in Blood Mist. Winter had never returned with the food and water. She hadn't returned at all. Ever since, Ashlyn and Everett were far quieter. But today felt expecially significant. Each pup had a lump in their throat, not wanting to speak to each other or anyone else for fear they would simply burst into tears.
Ashlyn, wandering past the alpha's den, looked up to see Luna. She couldn't muster a smile or a tail wag, but murmured a hello.
"Hey, Luna."

Luna lifted her head and got up. She smiled and walked to Ashlyn and Everett with a wag of her silvery grey tail. She noticed that Ashlyn was not waging her tail. She looked at them with a worried look and then she remembered that Winter, their mother. She looked at them. "I'm sorry about your mom. I hope she comes back, though." She said. She didn't remember her real mother because she had died of an sickness after she was born. She looked at the ground. "At least you had a mother." I said softly. I started at the ground sadly. Even though the Alpha female treats her like a daughter but she still feels that hole in her chest that would have been filled if she had a mother.

Ashlyn nodded in acknowledgement of her friend, but couldn't supress the spark of annoyance that passed momentarily in her gaze. 'At least you have a mother'? Inward, she growled, but she showed no aggression towards Luna on the outside. Ashlyn and Everett were barely pups anymore, and perhaps they had a better idea of the wider picture than Luna did. Sh scratched at the dirt idly with her paws.
"Everett and I will be neophytes soon," she murmured, changing the subject altogether. It's better if we don't talk about it. Then nobody's feelings will get hurt on accident.

Everett looked up, saw Luna and Ashlyn, and padded over to them. "Hey, Luna," he woofed. "What're you up to?"

She looked at Ashlyn. "That sounds cool." she said and then she looked at Everett. "Hey, Everett. Nothing much, just bored that's all." she said. She wanted to do something fun and she slowly began to wag her silvery grey tail. Her golden eyes gleamed with excitement. They used to have a tired look in them but now they don't.

Everett wagged his tail slightly, trying to rid his mind of the melancholy thoughts. "What sounds cool?" He tilted his head curiously at his sister.
"That we're gonna be neophytes soon," Ashlyn barked. The white wolf smiled slightly at Luna. "We won't have time to play as much, but we'll get to train and hunt and do things like that. And actually leave the camp, too!"
Everett nodded enthusiastically. Pups were always confined to camp, though he and Ashlyn had made a brief venture into the woods when they had chased after --
No, Everett thought forcefully, I won't think about that stuff again.
Suddenly, mischeif glowed in the male's blue eyes. "Hey...nobody's around, do you think we could sneak out for a bit?"

Luna looked at him and smiled. "That sounds like a good idea." she said excitedly. Her golden eyes were sparkling with excitement. Unlike the other pups. She has been outside of the caves with her father. She got up and wanted to go for a nice run with her two friends.

Everett raised a surprise brow. Ashlyn, who had been cleaning her paws with her tongue, paused mid-lick and looked up at her friend. Everett cleared his throat to clarify. "You do know that we don't just mean out in the camp, right? We mean like...in the forest." Her automatic approval surprised him.

Ashlyn nodded in agreement with her brother. "I'm all for this new and improved you, but usually you get all worried about us doing stuff that's out of the norm."

Luna's tail stopped in mid wag and lowered her head. "I know I worry about your guys sometime after all you guys are my best friends, my only friends. I would miss having fun with your guys and I won't have anyone to play with." She said softly. She laid on the ground and rested her head down. Her golden eyes looked in front of her. She sighed softly.

Ashlyn sighed heavily, partially relieved that her friend was back to normal and partially annoyed with it again. Ashlyn and Everett were okay with being reckless; Luna was typically not. It was just the way things were for them. Well, we're gonna be neophytes sooner than Luna is, anyway, and then we'll have plenty of time to go out into the forest. I guess we could stay here for today.
Ashlyn laid down and rolled onto her back, looking at the stormy sky above. "Okay, so what should we do?"
Everett was not so flexible. "It's not like anything bad would happen," he grunted. "All the Blood Mists are at the fight, so we'd be fine!"

Lua also rolled on her back and looked at the blue sky. She didn't know what to do. She just wanted to lay here with her two best friends and look at the sky or just lay there. She smiled and she knew that in a couple months or earlier she would be joining her friends.

Inwardly, Ashlyn was groaning with boredom. The world was so large and unknown to her; it seemed such a pity to waste so much time cooped up in this camp when there was so much else to explore, and so little they hadn't done before within the given boundaries. As Ashlyn looked up into the pallid, cloudy sky, a white flake descended from above and landed on her wet nose; the flake dissolved slowly. Ashlyn sneezed as it melted. Snow? She shivered as a cool breeze chilled her skin. Winter's here, I suppose.

Everett looked around the camp with an expression of general disinterest. "I need ideas, people," he grunted. "Cause this whole laying here doing nothing thing is definitely not working for me."

Luna rolled on to her stomach and she started to think of ideas that we could do. "We can talk about things or stuff." she said giving her idea out to her two friends.

While she waited for her friends to answer she realized that she had a small crush on Everett but she doesn't know if shares the same feelings that she does. She hoped he did and if he did she would be happy

Ashlyn wrinkled her nose in distaste. "Like what, truth or dare?" For a moment, she continued to stare at the other two with her face scrunched in disapproval, and then, slowly, realization flooded her features. She blinked between her brother and Luna with a small, mischeivous smile on her features.

Everett shrugged his shoulders, slightly uncomfortable but admittedly intrigued by the idea. It's not the most original of things, but we've never really done it before, so hey, why not? "That's actually not half bad," he agreed. "But I'm not going first!"
