AN ADVANCED TIMECLASH ROLEPLAY

"Do you think he's coming back?"
"Who?"
"The Dark Lord."
"Why?"
"He can't have disappeared just like that. Maybe he's in hiding, biding his time."
"Yes, but it's been two years, and secondly, why would he do that? He was growing more and more powerful by the day. It just doesn't add up."
"We should still be cautious."
"I know."
"It's just...so odd. I feel as if something's really wrong here. I know that sounds strange, but I feel as if this isn't supposed to happen."
"...okay."
"If I had to explain it, I'd say that it's almost as if we're not supposed to be here."
"Caradoc."
"What, Dorcas?"
"That's got to be the most ridiculous shit I've heard today."
"Thanks."
"No problem. Look, I have to run. Say hi to Hestia for me, yeah?"
"All right."
"See you, mate."
---
POTTER ERA.
"I swear that I'm not going mental."
"Cho - "
"No, Marietta, I swear it was Cedric. I was in the coffee shop and there he was, sitting at the counter, and then he turned around and it was him."
"...Cho, it's been six years, and he's, well, he's dead."
"Really? Then please explain why he got up and came towards me and asked me what's going on and where have I been and why there is nothing but dirt where our house is - "
"..."
"There was something different about him, Marietta. He didn't look like he used to. He looked older, much older. And he was going to hug me but then he stopped, and he looked at me, and then he asked me if I'd gotten younger."
"Cho, people just don't come back from the dead like that."
"I don't think he's back from the dead, Marietta."
"Sorry?"
"I don't think he's been dead at all. I think there's something going on here."
"So, like what?"
"Like...an alternate universe or something. I don't know."
---
POST-POTTER
"We've got to fix this."
"Fred - "
"Don't tell me to calm down, Roxanne, there are people who are going around who look like us and claim that our mother is their mother and that we don't exist! We've got to do something."
"Fred, what are we going to do then?"
"We're going back in time."
"...you're serious."
"Of course. This is a national emergency, Roxanne. The government'll be game for it, and we can go back and find, er, Lord Voldemort, and bring him back and set things to the way they were."
"Fred...there are so many ethical things wrong with that."
"I know. But...this is survival, Roxanne. It's us, or it's them."
---
And so it was. The magical government of 2029 obliged for a mass time clash in hopes of fixing the mess. But of course, if Voldemort comes back, this would mean that many, many people will die, just as they should have, and some simply won't exist. The future looks bleak, but sometimes, you've just got to look out for yourself.
