Chicken Muffin looked up at the night sky, pacing inside the den. She'd recently hunted a small creature under the name of rabbit. But now she wanted to hunt something bigger. Barely an adult, and still nervous around the new pack, she wasn't sure who to ask when you wanted to hunt larger game. Her stomach was half full, and she wanted the rest to be stuffed with deer, elk or caribou. By certain she'd kill any beast with honor. Just because you could kill something, didn't mean it was weaker. Life would be disrupted if one prey species died out. It would form a chain reaction and lead to the extinction of other species. Chicken Muffin looked balefully around the dark den, and with a long sigh she waited for someone to come along.

Gaara looked inside the den. He was bored and decided to look around their new camp. His sister had ran away after hearing what Tisana said. She takes things too seriously. Tisana was probably only saying that to make her act more polite to her elders. Something caught his eyes and he looked at Chicken Muffin in the darkness. "Hey. So I see I'm not the only one looking around the new camp."

Chicken Muffin turned to look upon the wolf. Her red-tipped tail rising with happiness. she wasn't going to hide her delight at seeing Gaara. Though she had no idea who he was, she was happy. "I was actually hoping to hunt" She said with an easy open honesty. Her multi-coloured eyes glittered. The next step was left for Gaara to continue. She'd rather wait before going on, so at least she could get to grips if it was alright to run off and hunt. In her pack, big hunts were well-ordered and run by the alphas.

Gaara shrugged. "We could go hunting. It'll give us a chance to explore the new territory. I got nothing better to do." I do have to find my sister... But then again, it'll be quiet in the camp for once. But what would Nightshade say when she learned what happened. He shook his head to clear his mind. Hunting would probably help him.

So it was alright to hunt randomly. That was comforting. She did however, wonder why the wolf shook his head. But she wasn't one to impose. If he wished, he could tell her. "Great, the names Chicken Muffin, but if you wish you can call me Muffin" Chicken Muffin smile, her tail wagging so hard her rump vibrated. Some could say she was wagging her tail like a dog. But she wouldn't have minded.

"The names Gaara. So, you think we should tell someone where we are so no one worries?" He looked carefully around outside. No one was really paying attention. They seemed to be exploring the new territory, digging out dens for apprentices and others. Most likely, no one would noticed if they left for a quick hunt.

Someone to tell? Chicken Muffin had only seen Gaara today, and so she was sure no one would worry in her absence. The other wolf however, was a different matter. He probably had friends in the pack. She was already considering Gaara a friend. Though no feat to be proud of. It took no time to win yourself into Chicken Muffin's good books. "I have no one to tell, do you have friends that need to know?" She asked, if it was a bicker or argument, that could be described as a counter.

Gaara froze. Friends... "I have no friends," he said darkly. "There's just my sister and my mentor. I'm sure my mentor wouldn't care if we went out hunting. Maybe it could help show some of my skills." He turned to look outside again. Yea... know one will care what happens to me.

"Don't be so down" Chicken Muffin gently urged. She didn't like seeing other wolves being so down. It made her sad as well, perhaps she could help to turn that frown upsidedown. "If you want, I could be your friend" Her offer held no demand. No fear of rebuffal either. But that didn't mean she was confident he would say yes. It just meant if he said no she would understand. She was ugly and wierd. Only her personality redeemed her odd features. Chicken Muffin was only young, she had the skills of an adult wolf, but little experience.

"You can be if you want to. Some wolves just say I act weird. Who needs them?" Gaara stepped outside the den and looked curiously around. No one had noticed them. "Lets go before someone sees us. I don't feel like answering questions right now."

Chicken Muffin laughed, following her new friend. The only one she had so far, and so far, the best! A wind ruffled her spiked fur, and her fur rippled like tough blades of grass. She smiled at the sky, just because it was. Nighttime was always so wonderful in its dark beauty. She found everything became more defined in darkness. It had a beauty of a different kind, like her. "Yeah" She panted, "Know where the hunting grounds are?" She stepped out further, sniffing.

"No..." Gaara sniffed the air curiously. "But we could go look for one. We'll go outside the camp and sniff around. Wherever it seems there is a lot of prey scent, that could be the hunting grounds." He flattened his ears and ran across to the camp entrance. He stopped in front of it and looked back.

Chicken Muffin nodded. Her thoughts differed as she was just sniffing for large prey rather than quantity. When Gaara ran to the camp boundry, Chicken Muffin followed behind. Her long, lanky legs carrying her easily. She pulled up beside Gaara as he stopped, panting lightly. "If we keep doing there are a few scattered deer, if we go diagonally right I think I smell a herd of caribou"

"Right, then. Lets go!" Gaara ran and followed the scent of deer. I haven't eaten in so long! Not since we started traveling across the mountains. My mouth is already watering.

Straight ahead it was. Chicken Muffin launched herself forwards, slipping into a wolven lope that had plenty of stamina. With crimson red and coal black fur, she looked like blood running without aid. Deer sounded lovely. It had taken her a while to get here, and during that time she had only sampled small animals. Bigger game was her desire. You could even say she craved it.
