Annelise rose from her nest in the herb den, yawning widely and stretching each leg in turn. She gave herself a shake, dispersing all sleepiness and blinking awake with enthusiasm. "Magic?" she called, wondering what they'd be doing today.
So far, her life as the herb healer neophyte was bliss. She had the respect of her pack, and a great teacher to guide her. She still spoke to Kar often, and now that Freya was a neophyte too, she felt light and bubbly. Freya was like a sister to her; they'd been in the nursery with each other for a short time, but they still had special bonds of friendship.
She looked about, wondering if Magic was around.

(Lol-- nice title Oh, and I think Kar should be found soon ) A black shape emerged from the shadows of his nest, yawning as well. Flicking his tail in greeting, Magic smiled at his neophyte. She's so perfect for this..."We're running a little low on goldenrod today, so we'll need to gather some of that out in the woods."

Annelise nodded, closing her eyes for a moment and picturing the herb and it's familiar scent. She blinked them open, stormy-grey like her mother's. "I think we're low on thyme, too," she mentioned, recalling the short from her sorting of the herb stores the previous night.

Magic couldn't help but reveal a small, approving smile. "Very good-- you're right. We'll need to find some thyme on our outing as well."

Annrlise beamed under the praise, black and blue tail flicking with excitement. She was an eager thing...she held a zest for life that few had in these times. She had spirit. She licked a paw thoughtfully, glancing up at Magic to hear when they would be leaving.
A scent pricked her nose. A scent she would never mistake... It was Kar...she was sure. But why did he smell...fearful? What was wrong?

"Alright, then... what do you say that we grab a hare and then set out?" Magic woofed. He obviously didn't sense what Annelise sensed... Maybe it was something only siblings could share... but he was oblivious to the fear.

Annelise wrinkled her nose, but shook away the feeling. She was probably still a bit shaken from her nightmare with the killer rose thickets... She blinked back into focus and nodded vigorously. "Sounds good!" She smiled. Hare was by far her favorite food...she didn't know why. Most wolves preferred bigger meals, like a moose or deer. Annelise was easily pleased, she guessed.

"Alright, then," Magic woofed. He stretched out his forelegs, and then headed out of the den, every bound a completely and utterly relaxed movement. What is there to worry about today? He kneeled beside the mound of prey, and fished out a rather plump rabbit and tossed it out in front of them. "There-- that one looks delicious!"

Annelise nodded, licking her lips and wagging her tail slightly with agreement. The rabbit was big enough for the two of them, so she stepped forwards and took a hungry bite, leaving room for Magic. Hunting had been great this winter;; Siv had made sure of that. Prey was still scarce, but they didn't honestly blame Siv for that. After all, she apprently liked the cold =p

(siv is beginning to sound more like Lupus than Rhain does, lol)
The Healer gnawed on his half, and vocalized Annelise's thoughts. "Prey's been great...for winter that is. You don't usually happen upon healthy food like this." He sighed, taking in the little sunlight winter had to offer. "What a nice day."

Annelise nodded, grinning at Freya as she dashed off to meet Asha for training. Francine was taking a ferret back to the senior's den to munch on. The retired, mute healer flashed Annelise and Magic a friendly glance before continuing on her way. Nightshade had just returned with Riley, Mystic, and Tyra from a border patrol. All carried prey as well. Ralph was sulking around, as usual. The brute was never caught with a smile these days. All in all, pack life buzzed on with a haze of happiness. Annelise stood up and licked clean her black and blue fur, wondering where her father, the pack beta, had gone.
(Sabela hasn't announced a new proxy yet =p )

Magic suddenly frowned. "...I wonder where Arroyo went. I haven't seen him all day." He glanced over his shoulder, unaware of the news along with the rest of the pack.
(yeah... she needs to announce that *pokes sheera* want me to tell her?)

(sure. You poke Sheera for the Siverians, I'll poke Ari fo rthe Destinians XD )
Annelise shrugged, sadness tugging on her heartstrings at the mention of her father. "He isn't around much anymore..." she murmured softly.

(ok-- then everyone's happy ) Magic held Annelise in a gaze of sympathy, and sighed. "...you know what? I think the herbs can wait a little bit... Why don't you go say hi to your father? He's bound to be around camp somewhere..."

Annelise nodded the smallest of nods and stood, eyes glazed over with nostalgic thoughts. She offered her mentor a little half-smile, then turned towards the senior's den. Francine would know where her father was; she was the eyes and ears of the pack. She had no voice, but knew how to get a point across. She stopped dead in her tracks, whiskers twitching with confusion. Was that her father she smelled in the senior's den?
