Tavel sniffed, his ears shooting foreward. He suddenly dropped to the ground and crept foreward. Something bigger this time. And not a mammal. He stopped about a foot away, determined to impress Riley. He lept foreward, and it midair, he coughed, sending him down on his paws. The robin flew away. "MOOSE DUNG!"

"Hey, you're going to have a few misses, alright? A bird is hard to catch, and I didn't teach you how yet, so don't be too hard on yourself. Go ahead and take another try," Riley woofed encouragingly.

Tavel nodded girmly. He turned to the left, smelling another animal. He crept foreward, dropping low, his tail down. Suddenly, he lept. The mouse scooted out from under his paws, and he reached for it with extended claws. He snagged it's tail, killing it swiftly.

Riley dipped his head in congratulations. "A great start! I'm going to let you hunt on your own for a bit, but I won't be far off," he decided. Offereing the smallest of half-grins. Won't be gone for long... He felt terrible for lying to his neophyte, but he didn't want Tavel to see it... His heart felt heavy with desperation and sadness. This wasn't fair. He needed more time...time to watch his pups grow up and grow old with his love Dashina. He still had life in him... Riley's paws were trembling, but he hid this expertly from Tavel.

Tavel nodded. His forehead creased with concern, but he said no more. He simply trotted off, ears pricked for the sounds of small mammals.

Riley frowned as Tavel faded from sight. The virus was closing in on his throat. Air was hard to come by... Tears watered in his eyes -- tears of pain, tears of sorrow. His legs buckeled and he collapsed in the dirt, twitching terribly. Gutteral noises emitted from the decaying wolf, his very essence banished from him. The foam hung out of his mouth, white and bubbling. It pooled around him with his sweat and tears. The wolf panted heavily, desperate for even the smallest bit of oxygen. Anything, oh, anything was better than this... And so came the end of Riley, proxy, lover, father, friend.

Tavel casually caught a vole. He was oblivious to his mentor, dead, just feet from him. He just kept hunting, as he was told.

A howl ripped through the air; it was mixed with worry and an anxious spirit. No words seemed audible through this howl, though as it grew louder the voice of a fae was quite audiable.
"RILEY!" the voice called, in a short ringing tone. "RILEY!" this one seemed much more anxious, much more.
"Riley, darling! You must return!" called the femora's voice. "The pups wish to see you!"
An uncomfortable feeling trickled from her heart towards her lungs, as if it were beginning to drown in agony. The femora was close by, she scented Riley, Tavel, and death.
A screech escaped her lips as she raced forward, following the scents, she rushed towards Riley's scent, though it seemed intertwined with the one she dreaded of all; death. She entered the view of the fallen wolf but continued to run. She ran straight to Riley, and started licking his face to awaken him.
"Riley! RILEY!" she urged. "Riley WAKE UP!!!" she cried. Her anguish was to such a high level... it was hardly bareable.
The light was extinguished and, as if the sickness had taken over her mind, her eyes darkened to an extremely menacing glare, and her muscles tightened.
"Fuck you Twilight." she growled in a tone of hatrid. "Thanks for the damn protection!" she spat at the sky,
Her eyes once again fell upon her deceased mate and her heart disapparated. It felt as though she had gone hollow, and her insides no longer existed. Her eyes softened to a sickly look and she lied down next to her mate, and pressed her body to his feeling his unfamilair cooled skin.

[I, with no shame, call upon someone to come look for Riley and find him--- dead. ]

Annelise rumaged through the underbrush, searching desperately for herbs. She already had a large bundle, but she still foraged on, desperate and panicked. Wolves were dying like rabbits ; fast, in masses, and like prey. She had to try and put a stop to the madness before it swallowed them whole--- The herbs fell from her silver maw, and a scream peeled through the night.
