The white male stared at his paws for a long while. Finally, he murmured, "You've grown much... You look beautiful." His green eyes slowly drifted upwards to meet her gaze once more.

Grug looked up at the sky. Then he looked at the mountains that still laid ahead. He sighed and looked down at his paws. "We better get moving before winter sets in. You ready yet?" he said, looking at Zuni.
Zuni sat up and stayed still for awhile. Finally he stood up and opened his eyes. "Are they still red? They hurt like crazy!"
"Yes. It'll be awhile until they become better. Just wait, okay." Grug had a cheerful voice and smiled. He didn't want to worry Zuni more than he was already.

Nirvana got up. She didn't know how long she'd been dozing, but she had to shake a rather thick layer of snow from her pelt as she stood. The lovely fae smiled. She was always fond of Winter. In fact, she loved it. She didn't mind the cold, and embraced it. The snow was just an added bonus. She leaped lighting through the white, sparkling landscape over to Destiny. She was giddy, which was very odd for the usually calm Nirvana. "Destiny, when are we leaving?" She smiled as she said this. Their new home would look mystical in this snowy season...

Stephen walked towards the food pile were all the animals were killed for other wolves could eat. He grabbed a rabbit and came back where Star and Kunai were at. "So Star.... where did you find Kunai again?" the wolf wispered to Star so the black pup wouldn't hear them.

"By the Mirror Lake...after the Mirror Stone sank..." Her voice was mournful. That had been a horrible night for all wolves of the forest. She recalled that Kunai had been about to drink from the lake, not noticing the blood...

The Mirrior lake? That was strange but it was right by the forest. "Wasn't he abandoned?" Stephen asked Star quietly. He just remembers that Kunai was abandoned or something from the rumors that were about the black pup. The world is strange.

"Yes. His mother didn't take to him because his fur was black, not white." She whispered, the disgust apparent in her voice. "No pup should ever be abandoned, regardless of what they look like." She said with conviction.

Yup he was right. He didn't really wanted to asked him this because the wolf didn't want to make Kunai feel blue and alone again. Star was right, no pup should be abandoned. What about the father? Did he had to do with this plan about abandoning the pup. Stephen asked Star. Kunai wasn't paying attention to Stephen and Star talking about him because he was too busy trying to get rid of the hawk's head.

Star smiled as she saw Kunai struggling with the hawk's head. She took a sharp, black claw and cut it away in a single, clean swipe. She turned back to Stephen. "I'm not quite sure...he didn't say anything about his father that I can remember..." She racked her brain, trying to remember if Kunai had mentioned his father. Star was pretty sure he hadn't...

Nothing about the father then.... his father must have been part of it or never really knew anything. "Well do you think that his father knew about this?" Stephen questioned ceriously. Kunai's father should have know about the abandoned wolf pup's mother's plan. (wow say twice ^^). "Thank you Star,"Kunai thanked her for slicing the head off.

"No problem, Kunai." She smiled at the pup, then turned back to Stephen. "I'm not sure. Either he wasn't around, or he knew about it. Two completely different options. Not any clues as to which one..." She mused.

Alaskansong smiled and brought her snout close to his. "Nahhhh I havent changed that much", she woofed and licked his cheek circleing him checking him out. She snorted with satifaction and sat down emberald green orbs burning with something within that made her smile...but only for a little while...hurt still creeping up into the backround like a waterdrop dissolving into a peice of paper. She picked up an invisable eyebrow as she looked over him. "But I can tell you 'this' much....you are one hunk of a wolf", she woofed and gave him this little smirk smileing she reached forward licking his nose. If only Lakota could see you... she thought, remembering how the two males had been friends so long ago.

Kunai finally heard the combersation from what Star and Stephen was having. "Oh my father was the one who didn't feel right about it but he only went along," The abandoned wolf pup explained to both of them. The black pup didn't mind them talking about his past. Kunai wasn't mad at him only a little bit nothing major. Stephen was listening to Kunai after what Star was saying. His father wasn't really part of it but he only followed the leader. That makes a lot of sense.

Star frowned. "Disgusting." Was all she could say about this. "You should get some sleep, Kunai." She smiled again. It was something she did a lot around Kunai....and Stephen.

"O.K. Star," He said walking towards her and then layyed down and fell asleep really quick. Stephen watched Kunai fall asleep. "I like the pup already, no wonder you adopted him," He mentioned. Either way he wouldn't leave the pup without a guardian if the wolf had a choise for keeping or leaving a pup.
